I get what you’re saying but it would be unprecedented as he’s a rookie. Monumental difference between the two imo

Xavier Worthy injured during 1st practice as a Chief
NewEra replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah- Reid will likely get the most out of him. He’ll be a player as long as he stays healthy imo -
Ugh. Not what I was hoping to see- doesn’t mean Bishop is out for an extended period- but it might. 😞 Former 3rd rd pick- Smart with a great football IQ- been in the league 4 years and nothing to show for it. And the smart ones point out that Mahomes has the best coaching in the league paired with TE1-2 all time and first ballot DT.
-
And what do you know about McGovern that tells you he can’t do those things? He’s having trouble with snaps- that’s a big deal for sure- it’s also something that can improved upon with repetition. The coaching have been raving about everything else he brings to the table at C.

Poor choice of word on my part saying he took RG from the start. He wasn’t named starter til later on but Torrance played with the 1st team in each of the preseason games. Once he was in there with the starters, he was never taken out and replaced by Bates. The only “battle part was waiting for McD to name him starter. I recall being very confidant he’d start late august. Bernard was in year 2.

Yeah, size and strength. I didn’t say he was gonna get taller and longer. Gaining 10 lbs could make the difference between staying healthy and not.

Wow- most of those old faces ratings are a joke. Kincaid is a 79. 2 better than MVS 🤣 Just hilarious. The confirmation pro-chiefs/anti bills bias

You’re a champ. Thanks

Can’t see him making the team but maybe he can instill some wisdom the other guys during camp
-
I hear that, but S was one of, if not our biggest question marks going into the season. He’s our S with the highest value and biggest upside. Having him for an entire training camp would be very beneficial for speed of his development. I was really hoping he’d be a starting S out the gate week 1. Torrance took RG1 from Bates out the gate. Bates’ OG level of play is to level of S play of Hamlin and Edwards. missing time early will probably erase all chances of him starting week 1. Which is ok…. But I’d have preferred him to be better than the other two from the start.

I don’t think he’s going to be used to give the starters a breather as much as he will be used in certain formations to perform roles. Run blocking but also could be used in play action. I believe Brady will try and mix up personnel looks so much so that our WRs won’t really need a rest. Ideally they’ll get rest built into the playcalling and scheming. we have- 4 (maybe 5) solid options at WR possessing either very good speed and rac or top shelf size/strength/length/hands. 1 elite option and 2 solid options at TE 3 RBs that can do it all The Mandolorian use then all imo.

Yeah he might be a year of nfl weight training away from being able compete with the size and strength of nfl WRs and RBs

Ray Davis will be a fan favorite for 4 years and a nemesis of James Cook fantasy owners this year and next. Love his squattiness

I’m very confidant in that group- if Hardy can prove to be a good backup in the slot I wonder if Cam gets cuts. He was decent last season after being terrible in 22. I thought his job may be safe but now with the nunbers at safety, he may be on the outside looking in if Hardy shows adequate as a backup for Taron. I think we have 4 quality boundary corners. I really like Ingram as #4. CB is set imo. Eager to see how these S’s sort themselves out.

I don’t think so- pretty sure he’s somewhere between 6’4 and 6’5

Training Camp 7/29 - First day of pads
NewEra replied to DaBillsFanSince1973's topic in The Stadium Wall
Hollins at best has been a 2nd option. He had 90+ targets in 22 iirc. I’m not saying he’s a good 2nd option, just that your statement is incorrect and is not telling the whole truth. Yeah, McB surely failed in their quest for a starting caliber off ball LB6 last season. -
My very special training camp report (7/29)

Hollins looks like an absolute lock at this point- he may not be very involved in the passing game but no way he gets cut imo -

He has to be so happy to have 17. His contract may turn out to be instrumental in building this team over the next 3 years. 8M aav for a guy that could prove to be a low end WR1. Diggs was better than Samuel prior to joining Buffalo, but he also had better passers throwing him the ball. He could turn out to be a low end WR1, top tier WR2 if fed the ball. He’s really good downfield. He really makes plays on the ball. Meanwhile the jags gave gabe 13m to be their 5th best pass catcher -

As much as I like Douglas, I think he’d be the one out of a job if Elam steps up and starts….until Benford inevitably gets dinged up. -

Yeah, bringing in Simmons would be something. I don’t see it happening unless these kids don’t step up, which is certainly possible. -

Neither Poyer nor Hyde were all pro caliber players. I’m their biggest fan, I’m sad that they’re gone….but their play is part of the reason KC owned us in the playoffs. Poyer was my guy, but was constantly getting picked on in the biggest games. that’s not to say I’m not worried about the safeties. I am 💯 worried- I think Bishop will be a very good player for us, but I’m not sure if he’ll be good early this season. I think edwards is a great backup and can fill in as starter for now, but his start as a bill has me skeptical for now. the thought of Rapp and Bishop starting side by side is unsettling. Both have been prone to head hunting and personal fouls due to being over physical. I’ll be happy watching them lay the lumber but a little worried about them getting beat deep. In addition, Hamlin wasn’t inspiring in coverage when filling in for Hyde 2 seasons ago- sounds like he’s been a little better this camp, but I’d be surprised if he ever turned into a good starter -
Yeah he was definitely an injury worry early on. I had a buddy that knew a S&T guy on the bills and he said they were worried that his body wouldn’t hold up. agree with the rest- he had 2 years of being relatively healthy
