I know he's banked some money, but it's hard not to feel bad for this guy. I'd think with his ongoing weight struggles, he's never going to see the field again. And then, again, with those weight struggles, which are likely only to get much worse with another year spent off of his feet, he's looking at a very tough road/life ahead of him from a physical standpoint.

Jon Feliciano's take on KC playoff game
TheBrownBear replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think he's referring to the field turf. Maybe Highmark's turf was too prickly or something and it aggravated his ankles. -
Fans throw things at Diggs and Allen
TheBrownBear replied to Dablitzkrieg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Honestly, this really pisses me off. So many idiots just completely lacking in respect for others these days. I see idiotic, selfish behavior everywhere I look when I go out. And yes I scream at clouds and your kids better damn well stay off my lawn. 😄 -
The Best “One Year Wonders” in Bills History
TheBrownBear replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
Jairus Byrd - in terms of INTs. He had some good years afterwards i guess, so maybe not a one year wonder. -
With the improvements from Dane, McCloud and Lewis, and Benford already showing out as a rook (and of course, Elam too), I think we look good at CB. I'd much prefer to keep all of these young guys around than sign a vet on his last legs. Going to be hard to keep all of these guys as is. I can't imagine any of the backups (McCloud, Lewis or Benford) lasting on the practice squad for long. They would be poached in a hurry.

I've always liked Sullivan's writing even when he left me exasperated or angry. The truth is his cynicism was mostly well placed over much of the past 20 years. At the same time, I agree with the OP's sentiment. While I'm not exactly glad the drought happened, it is what it is, and I have no jealousy towards the youngins who didn't have to suffer through the lean years (and as anyone, anywhere, who has a few years under their belts knows, good and bad times come and go over a lifespan). Regarding that point, I'm guessing that Sullivan just sort of threw that in there without much reflection, but maybe not. That then begs the question - does he not "get" Buffalonians/Bills fans at their core, or does he get us and just enjoys poking the bear so to speak? Lol. Either way, he's always entertained me and it doesn't hurt to have one cynical voice among a mostly supportive and sunshine pumping local press.

Josh Allen is the best personality in the NFL
TheBrownBear replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
Everything we've seen points to Josh being a great dude. Very happy that he's the face of the franchise. And their is something special about the synergy he has with Diggs. Seeing the two of them together always puts a smile on my face. -
Stafford has tendinitis in elbow
TheBrownBear replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
I've had golfer's elbow a few times and others here are right. You really need to rest it for like 8-12 weeks to let it fully heal or you are just going to endlessly aggravate it. I'm sure Stafford is getting the best treatment, but it's likely going to be a nuisance all season. He won't miss time, but I'm curious to see if it effects his performance. -
That's easier said than done. Up and moving just isn't a realistic option for many people. Unfortunately, if you get a monstrous neighbor, minding your own business often isn't enough.

It's entirely possible that T.O. was driving somewhat recklessly. You see people (of all stripes) doing it every day. But as soon as you invoke race like that woman did, you rightfully lose all benefit of the doubt.

Diehard fan going back to the '80s, but I've only owned one jersey a Moulds one in the hideous early 00s style. It was a gift from my Mom and I don't think I ever wore it in public. Always felt weird about the idea of wearing a jersey with another man's name on the back.

It's sad that people delight in the misfortune of others. The identity politics wars have turned so many Americans, on both sides of the political aisle, into really despicable humans. Having said that, Griner did make an incredibly stupid decision and she will now pay the price for it, same as that Marc Fogel dude who is being gulag'd for 16 years. You don't have to like or agree with all of the laws of another country, but you damn well best abide by them as a visitor.

OT: Belichick says that Mac's improvement is "dramatic"
TheBrownBear replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Ruh roh! Given the improvement in Miami and the New Jersey (and elsewhere in the AFC), Pats are looking like a 5-6 win team, IMO. -
At least I can understand why Moon sees things this way, because they were definitely true in his time and his career was initially held back because of lack of opportunity. Moon paved the way so that these kids today didn't have to deal with that level of racist BS. But I just have to shake my head at guys like Mahomes or a Lebron James going to the race card when they've been universally praised, loved and worshipped their entire adult lives. There would be zero talk/criticism about Murray if he was clearly putting in the study time or Lamar if he was still producing at or near his MVP level instead of the mediocrity we've seen the past two years Peyton Manning was trashed by media and fans most of his final season as "washed up" (same for Ben), Arod is consistently criticized for his attitude and lack of postseason success, mid tier guys like Tanny, Cousins, Carr are constantly facing criticism/skepticism about their abilities, and we know what Josh went through. Every QB faces criticism when they fail to produce relative to the expectations that they (aka their past play) have set for themselves. Every single one.
-
Of course, Miami's fans have reason for optimism. I admitted that they're improved. I'm taking issue with the ridiculous level of trash talk in those twitter threads that were posted. Sure, they have a right to run their mouths, but I think they'll be in for another rude awakening. And how could KC not view Buffalo as a threat in the AFC? We beat them handily in their building in October and it took a near miracle for them to escape at home in the playoffs. Viewing us as a "threat" doesn't mean that they are afraid of us or ducking us, it just means that we are a legitimate contender who could easily end their (or the Bengals) season. I don't understand how this could even be argued at this point given our performance over the past two years and what we've added in the offseason.
-
Miami will be improved, no doubt, but I'm LJL at the bravado coming from the Fins fans on twitter and elsewhere. Holy hell those guys are delusional if they think the Bills are somehow overrated or some paper tiger. For the most part, we've beaten the absolute piss out of them in the Tua era.

'Praying for Dion' Dawkins: Top Bills Lineman Leaves Camp
TheBrownBear replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall
Prayers up for Dion. As for the troll, I'm not inclined to call for bannings, but this guy is an exception. -
Ed Kilgore was my Uber driver last night 😂
TheBrownBear replied to eball's topic in The Stadium Wall
Funny coincidence, meeting Kilgore like that. Honestly, all sorts of folks drive Uber. I know some lawyers that do it just to chat with folks and decompress for a few hours/week. Lots of retirees too who drive here and there to add to their vacation funds or grandkids college funds or whatever. I wouldn't assume anything about a given driver - there's a nonzero chance that they are in a significantly better financial situation than you or I am. 😁 -
Great story. Very entertaining!

I'm just saying we have a surplus of players who can man the slot. Crowder has had a solid career, but I wouldn't call it "excellent" by any means. He's also missed a bunch of games to injury in the past few years. If Shakir can essentially be a Crowder clone, but healthy and 6 years younger, I don't have a problem with the Bills prioritizing another player who provides a skill set that he doesn't. Kumerow is a key special teamer and provides a bigger outside receiving option. Obviously, I'd prefer an upgrade to Kumerow as well.
-
Shakir just looks like a vet already. Looks as if he could seamlessly slot into Beasley's role this season. I too think one of Crowder or McKenzie could be a surprise cut, especially with Cook already looking like the receiving threat we hoped he would. If Shakir is ready for a big role, I have no problem with us cutting bait from Crowder to keep a special teams ace like Kumerow, or alternatively, signing a bigger veteran outside receiver (are any of these left at this point?).
