  11. Lol.... Sarcasm doesn't translate well. Yes we all (sadly) remember that super bowl. Probably my least favorite football game of all time.
  12. Some team might claim him just to deny his ability to play in the playoffs
  13. I'm old enough to remember when Atlanta was a good team
  14. The Chicago Bears currently have a smaller stadium than the Bills.
  15. I watched the whole video of him on the sports podcast that was posted above. It's about an hour. What a tool... LOL Pretty much buried Brady and mentioned that Big Ben treated him like a #1 WR and threw him the ball whereas he was a bench player for Brady. I can't imagine dealing with this trainwreck every day.
  16. I'd be all for it! A guy who "only gets sacks" would be nice!
  17. Just thinking back to Thurman's career... A guy who could dominate as a RB, slot WR, and blocker. Imagine what the Thurmanator would do in today's game? THAT player is worthy of #2 overall. True, but that was because of injury concerns. But I get what you're saying! IF I knew I was getting Thurman's career he is 100% worth #1 overall, IMO anyway.
  18. Well, he does have a point about analytics I think. There's this idea that whatever the formula says is always correct. Going for it on 4th down every time it's short yardage can also get you beat (see the Chargers this year). Circumstances matter. Plus the analytic spreadsheet people are insufferable lately. Josh Allen is still a bust to them, because their pivot table in Excel says so. Analytics area great tool but the idea that they are the be all and end all of coaching just doesn't work when you're dealing with human beings. Jets Bucs game is a great example last week. Brady gets to within 4 late, but then the Jets drive the ball all the way down the field to inside the Bucs 10, which was a surprise given how they had gone 3 and out a bunch. So the Jets are feeling great. Then it gets down to 4th and short. Analytics says go for it. And you're the Jets, so why not? It's not like the game really meant anything either way, other than the W. But nobody's playoff position changes and the Jets are dead in the water anyway. However, I would argue that you kick the FG there and go up 7, putting ALL the pressure on Brady. Worst case scenario he goes all the way down the field and ties you. Once you miss the 4th down and Tampa players are jumping all over the field celebrating there's a feeling of "here we go" that comes with being human that the spreadsheet doesn't and cannot account for. Brady has said it multiple times: he looks at it as he already lost, but now he suddenly has a chance to win. Thus, ZFG. The Jets had already won, but now they have a chance to lose. We saw how it went. You play totally different in those cases. That game was 100% going to end the way it did as soon as they missed the 4th down. Even though the "odds" of Brady taking them 93 yards in under 2:00 with no timeouts were supposedly low, we all knew they were close to 100%.
  19. The worst reason not to make a coaching change is "we've hired too many terrible coaches so we'll stick with this one for the optics of it" As far as Gettleman goes... lots of bad draft picks have set that team up for a rebuild. If you're going to draft a RB #2 overall, he better turn out to be the next Thurman Thomas or Barry Sanders. Thurman Thomas was NFL MVP in 91. That's what you need out of a RB to justify such a high pick.
  20. It's certainly possible. Perhaps a lot more people than we realize are suffering from mental health issues that just never get diagnosed. I'm sure that's also true. When is someone truly mentally ill, and when are they just an a-hole? Or is almost everyone who acts impulsively, destroys every relationship they are involved with (friendships and romantic relationships) and leaves a trail of emotional, career, and financial wreckage behind them everywhere they go actually mentally ill?
  21. It did seem that way... It's been a weird season for sure. It's almost like they're falling victim to not getting as up for regular season games now that they've had a taste of the playoffs. Of course you can't do that and "nobody ever would" (officially) but it's probably human nature after a bunch of playoff runs to view most regular season games as just something to get through until the real games start.
  22. IF he goes anywhere it will be KC or the Rams. I'm not so sure he's "mentally ill" and not just a selfish drama magnet, of which there are many in the world who just don't have millions of dollars and the platform of an NFL player. I'll bet a lot of us know someone very similar to him who just doesn't have the means or money to get this type of attention.
  23. 100% Personally I want the trappings of Prime Time but any playoff win is a good win!
  24. I was initially excited about it, but now that it's here this week feels unnecessary and not all that exciting. Almost every playoff spot is already locked up, although there are some seeding scenarios still up in the air. With only the 1 bye it takes a lot of drama out of this week, because there's not much difference in being the 2 seed or the 3 seed. If it goes chalk you're going to play each other in the divisional round, and yes you'd love to be at home but it's not worth risking injury to your stars in Week 18. Also, it just seems like there's so many terrible games each week, maybe because the NFC overall is awful. There are a few powerhouse teams in the NFC, then a TON of total garbage teams. This seems to lead to weeks where there's a lot of lopsided matchups and not much in the way of exciting games. You know the NFL expected that with the extra week and 7 teams per conference that all sorts of scenarios would still be there and tons of teams would still be alive in week 18 for those last spots. Unfortunately, it's all pretty much wrapped up already, so most of these games are glorified preseason games.
