  1. Buf716 is not having the greatest run on this board recently...
  2. That’s correct, the decision is final once made. I just would have thought any players considering the opt-out would have already discussed this with their families/agents prior to reporting to training camp for COVID testing. But you’re right, there are probably still some guys on the fence and as Yolo noted, perhaps the paperwork being filed is another delay.
  3. Right, but wouldn’t you think they’d have made their decisions before reporting?
  4. [getting back on track] So Star is the only Buffalo opt-out at this point? Everyone had to report to camp yesterday for their first COVID test so maybe we’re in the clear?
  5. Mickey Rooney never looked better.
  6. Foles opting out? Wow, that's bad for the Bears.
  7. Guys, can we keep the baseball talk out of the football opt out thread please?
  8. I don't know if you knew this, but Buscaglia went to FSU so he likely followed EJ's college career very closely. To his credit he never liked the pick and was pretty spot on.
  9. There was literally no path for Ray Ray to make this roster, particularly without preseason.
  10. I'm thinking about limiting my league to 10 owners and expanding the rosters.
  11. Sorry man, it sounded to me like you were agreeing with the other two about politics being "too much to take" in football. As for this board, there are lots of threads simply talking about players and the sport so I think it's pretty easy to avoid the political stuff if you want to. Cheers.
  12. The six guys who voted Allen Tier 4 are morons.
  13. @Inigo Montoya, @BillsRdue, and @machine gun kelly — how, precisely, is the NFL “too political” such that it has impacted your ability to watch a football game? Sorry, I don’t get it. It seems to me a lot of you want to run around like ostriches with your heads in the sand. I’m pretty sure players aren’t going to stop in the middle of a game to make political statements. If you’re still on the “I don’t like kneeling” bandwagon go get yourself a beer before the game starts. This whining over “just play football” is pretty ridiculous, and it also serves to further the notion that professional athletes’ opinions on issues are not important.
  14. Talk about being pleasantly surprised. Funny that I don’t see any of our resident Josh Allen critics in this thread. Are we all still stupid homers now that the players have put Allen in the top 100? This has to make Josh feel good, knowing he is respected by his peers despite constantly being hammered by the analytics crowd and those who predicted “bust.”
  15. In a nutshell, I think it's as simple as a highly motivated successful individual wanting to go out on his own terms. You have to understand that, right?
  16. Draft on, baby -- we're gonna have NFL football!
  17. I think this makes sense. They need to get the guys ready for September. Sucks for the players who hoped to shine in preseason but this is a sucky year.
  18. For as bad a situation as that was — having a star player trash the organization and coach — it sure seems like the Jets fleeced Seattle. Yes, draft picks aren’t guarantees, but TWO firsts? Gotta give Douglas credit here. That said, the team still rots from the head and Gase is still the wrong man for the job.
  19. Just listened to the McAfee/Hawk segment. I completely agree with McAfee. Gase is not the kind of guy to take this well or constructively; I do not see him being willing to meet with Adams 1-to-1 to discuss the issues. Adams will be out of there because at this point the dumb Jets won’t do what they should, which is fire Gase.
  20. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the three coaches you mention were all guys who were probably at least 25 years older than their players. In today’s NFL there are coaches who are much closer, generation-wise, to their players.
  21. Absolutely, no doubt. I will proffer, however, that this year the return of sport — safely — is more important than ever to the world’s collective psyche.
  22. It’s a very good problem to have, looking at these four young non-starters (Johnson, Joseph, Williams, Dodson) with loads of potential. Whoever doesn’t crack the roster is almost a certain lock for the PS — and this year a team can protect up to four guys each week from being poached.
  23. So which horny 20-something is going to screw it all up?
