The Bills went 10-6 and lost a Wild Card game at Houston in OT.

Ha. It’s so smart of Beane and shows the value of relationships with other front offices. Get a guy you want to bring in without having to hope he clears waivers for next to nothing.

What a skeptical, bitter take. And completely wrong.

When you look at the Bills cap list two names really jump out: Murphy at #4 and Kroft at #16. Those two guys eat up 7% of the Bills’ cap this season. I wouldn’t mind seeing them both go unless Kroft’s foot thing is minor.

They can watch warmups and individual work as well. They just leave when the Bills move to team sessions (11 on 11 and 7 on 7).

Hodgins is not fighting with Duke for a spot. The decision is whether they keep 7 and that means McKenzie.

A) He’s a draft pick in a ridiculously deep draft for WRs. B) He has exceptional size and hands. C) Unlike Duke, he is a prime candidate for poaching if he is on the PS. D) By all accounts he grasped the playbook quickly and does not look out of place. Yes, I think he’s a lock.

This is admittedly somewhat of a guess but I’m not sure CB is all that loved by his beat reporter brethren. Over on The Athletic today some folks were trying to get Joe B and Fairburn to criticize the Bills’ policies and support CB. Fairburn said the policies seemed overly restrictive but were clear and they all got them at the same time. CB violated them in his very first on-air appearance that day. Said if the Bills had not removed him from practice they would have “had a problem” with the local media and called it an “unforced error” by CB along with his promoting the Barstool naming rights tweet (which the NFL wants no part of). Later he also noted that CB was tweeting today so he’s “out of timeout.”

Crazy. Hodgins is safe for the 53. McKenzie does more than Duke. I really think they are going to keep 7 and Duke (if lucky) goes to the PS.

FWIW Joe B. and Matt Fairburn are doing a Q&A over at The Athletic right now and they don't think Duke makes the 53. They have Hodgins there, and McKenzie might be the odd man out unless they keep 7.

I think you're reading A LOT into camp reports if you took this away from them. I believe it's pretty clear the focus of this camp has been to develop chemistry with all of the new WRs. Knox has received good reports on his blocking, and I've only heard mention of one drop (that I recall). That said, this Kroft guy is snakebitten. Geez. I think he can claim the "boo boo foot" title away from Sammy Watkins.

The Buffalo News report from yesterday said the Bills worked on situational football as opposed to "drives" and Josh was 7/14 with one drop, two WR slips, and a throwaway on a rush. That means "functional" accuracy was 7/10. Maybe the passes weren't great or maybe some of the reporters don't know what they're looking at. Whatever. In other news, GMFB was reporting how awful the Bucs practice was yesterday, with Brady throwing picks and miscommunication all over the place. 9/13 can't get here quickly enough.

If we weren't going into year 3 with Daboll, year 3 with Josh, and hadn't added, over the last two years, such a slew of weapons, I might understand where you are coming from. My primary disagreement is in your assessment that just because they have played a lot of close, low scoring games "it is who they are" and " in their DNA." McD hasn't had an offense capable of carrying the load and has rightfully leaned on his defense, but the pieces appear to be in place now. I don't believe, if you asked McD, he would tell you he's comfortable getting a 10-pt lead and then taking his foot off the gas. But since we truthfully don't know how McD will coach with an above-average offense it's all speculation at this point.
