Alex Smith cleared for football per PFT.

Absolutely amazing. I will be rooting for this guy more than anyone not on the Buffalo Bills roster. -
@ScottLaw always gets on me for my “predictions” but I’m right more often than he is. Many of us immediately declared the Jets’ hire of Gase an idiotic move, but Scott was right there claiming the Jets would be a playoff team. A little more than a year later the Jets look ready to implode behind a questionable owner and a horrible leader at HC.

If I read the article correctly, it seems to me the Bills are effectively “canceling” all season tickets this year but telling current STH that “you’re good” for 2021. My question is what is the setup if there are fans allowed this year? Will current STH have priority for purchase or will it simply be a free-for-all when the limited number of seats go on sale? I see valid arguments for both.

Did you read the Navarette opinion? The 911 caller in that case described conduct of having been “run off the road” by the subject vehicle, which was conduct deemed specifically relevant to driving while intoxicated. Navarette was stopped under suspicion of DWI, not a traffic infraction. It’s a matter of opinion whether the 911 call in Ed’s case gave reasonable suspicion to suspect Ed of a crime (DWI) vs a traffic infraction (speeding). I think that probably makes a difference in assessing the “totality of the circumstances.” I concede that stops may occur under the right circumstances; I wonder whether this case met such circumstances.
-
who is struggling? You’re just an argumentative SOB who can’t accept anything other than your own position. If cops are making traffic stops for driving infractions they didn’t witness based upon anonymous 911 calls there is definitely a problem.
-
so you’re saying cops respond to anonymous 911 calls to make traffic stops if they haven’t witnessed the behavior? I just don’t believe that happens with any sort of regularity.
-
I don’t believe an anonymous 911 call qualifies as probable cause for a traffic stop. If you can show me it does, please provide that reference.
-
I’ll go Shaw’s route and say I hope you’re the one in a million who is just naive to the reality of the situation and treat everyone wonderfully. If so, good for you. Sometimes ignorance is truly bliss.
-
So maybe they can, but to do what? Tell him they heard that someone said he was driving poorly? In what world does that make any sense or is a good use of an officer’s time?
-
Sometimes the smart thing to do is just shut up and listen. This isn’t about you, and you know what else? Racists cloak themself in Christ all the time.
-
Ok, once and for all — clearly the cops did not witness Ed speeding, driving erratically, or changing lanes improperly, because if they did Ed would have been charged (ticketed) with speeding or reckless driving. Cops may not charge (ticket) a driver based upon hearsay. We clear?
-
“I think you know” that traffic tickets are criminal charges.
-
Stop being an ass; you know exactly what my point is. The post I quoted said the deputy WITNESSED erratic lane changes and trailed Ed at excessive speed, both of which are absolutely sufficient to bring charges.
-
You’re not trying to mislead or distract, you’re doing what the “majority” have done for too long — you want everyone to look the other way and say “mistakes happen — most people are good.” That’s no longer good enough.
-
I’m saying clearly no deputy witnessed this or “trailed” Ed at those speeds. If he did, then he’s a pretty ***** cop since there were no speeding or reckless driving charges.
-
If this were true, Ed would have been charged (at a minimum) with speeding, and probably reckless driving. Which means it’s not true.
-
How prevalent are the non-vocal racists? You really don’t get it, man. Most racists will swear to your face they aren’t racist, and they believe it.
-
Is it standard protocol for cops to pull over drivers for suspected speeding based upon a 911 call when the officers themselves witness no probable cause?
-
So you think it’s ok for cops to pull someone over when THE COPS HAVEN'T WITNESSED ANYTHING, just on the basis of a phone call about alleged speeding? When does that EVER happen to a white person? Tiny tiny tiny majority my ass. Edit: and I just now realized the hilarity of you calling it a tiny tiny tiny majority.
-
Dude, NOT THE POINT. He was stopped because some busybody racist called the cops and said a black man was driving fast. THIS IS THE PROBLEM.
-
Wow, amazing. A black guy wound up being stopped and arrested for no reason. Who’d have thunk it in this day and age?

No, Shaw, you’re just a homer who doesn’t want to hear anything except Allen is awesome. -

You’re deaf. There are plenty of my posts stating quite clearly that there are no more excuses for Josh beginning this season. Get off that “you are just a homer” kick because I am just as analytical about the team as anyone.
