  1. I've been saying that since they got good under Schwartz.... Why do they keep losing? But especially last year.... I say this over and over and no one wants to hear. We will not miss Pettine. The reason Schwartz came here and did not take a year off is because our defensive talent fits his scheme like a glove. Particularly having two phenomenal pass rushing DTs in Dareus and Kyle. But the whole front line fits as well. We could use another pass rusher, gunna miss Kiko badly, but everything else is there. Schwartz may not of ever had a secondary as good or deep as ours is. If Gilmore can make that big jump this year we should be the envy of the NFL back there. Spikes and Brown were fantastic adds that are vital to this defense (as well as Pettine's) and they are gunna help so much it's ridiculous.... I can't wait!
  2. What I saw was passes completed down the middle to a receiver being watched by a little kid. I think Robey ran into the guy's ass. I stand by my remarks and will be proved correct (that Robey is a matchup nickel-back only). There will be weeks where the top 3 are Gilmore, Leodis and Graham and it won't be because of injuries. Robey is a very good match-up, Nickel-back and I am glad to have him, but the poster is right on. Additionally, Leodis, had to overcome a horrific injury, a career ending bad-play and playing on a losing team his whole career. I give him tons of credit being able to bounce back and play like he did in college and as a rookie. What he did though, is kinda expected in a way..... because he is an off the charts phenomenal athlete. It is amazing how he can go step for step with any WR in the league in still be in his back pocket. A thing of beauty. And you don't dismiss an excellent special teamer. So what if he got the contract because of that? (Although that is not reason why) That just adds to leodis' value it doesn't take it away. He is a rare athlete amongst rare athletes.....
  3. I couldn't imagine who Reed was when I saw the link..... Andre Reed. He's indescructable!
  4. I am 100% with you on this one. It's just Joe B's opinion but it is just so wrong. He is supposed to be an "expert" telling us about the Bills and this is just nonsense. Not only is Robey limited to nickle-back, he is limited to part-time nickle-back.he got killed last year facing Cincinatti and their set of big receivers. If we match-up against three tall receivers again, look for Graham to be the slot corner. The post creator was spot-on in his assessment, I am just adding to it. I'll end it by stating that Leodis McKelvin is also our #1 punt returner and has been a top punt returner in the NFL for a long time in addition to being the starting LCB. Geez, Joe! Are you trying to go, "shock-jock" like that moron at the News?
  5. I hated that old headline.....especially the first time I saw it.....
  6. There are going to be times where we need a big play on D and it just won't be coming with Kiko gone, yes. I think Byrd was outta here practically at the end of 2012. He just wasn't the same guy last year so I don't think he will be missed that much with the guys we have to take his place. Corner was a huge hole last year after Gilmore broke his wrist and we now have Graham to take his place. Cockrell looks like a nice add as well. I read a lot about the wide-nine and 4-3 under (the main D pettine showed) and both defenses call for a MLB who can take on guards... Kiko wasn't that guy. Spikes and Brown are. They arevbig adds for our D this year. So we really bolstered LB (plus Rivers and Johnson)!and CB (which costs us games last year. Ibalso think our guys fit schwartz's D like a glove. Probably the main reason he came here instead of taking a year or two off. The front four is perfect for his D. Yes, including Jerry Hughes. The jury is still out a little bit on the rotation but it is promising with Manny, Alan, charles, and Bryant.... We'll probably keep a ninth here if one is worthy. I really liked our six LBs before Kiko's injury. Yeah, it's bad but we have Nigel, Brown and that special teamer whose name escapes me but fans and coaches have been mentioning him since during last season.... Now, we have to look through the rest of the guys for a good back up or sign one later.... The new LB is going to be a slower, lesser player, but maybe he won't cost us any games either and perhaps surprise.... I like Nigel there but have a feeling he hasn't impressed the coaching staff.... Anyway, with EJ's chances looking way, way better than last year, it is clearly not the end of the world..... Merely, the loss of one of our D playmakers.... Known other D playmakers.... Kyle, super, Jerry, Marcel and Aaron.... Definitely looking to add stephon Gilmore to this list. Graham is also a play maker.... Who else is going to do it.... While the Spikes add is super huge he lacks in big plays (he excells in stops though which are a little smaller big plays). Who else is going to step up?
  7. He was off last year because Race Car Jerry hit him square in the hip during their first encounter.... Tom..... We are coming.....
  8. Tuel at #2 all the way baby! I liked what I saw at KC.....the big INT was curios.....weakish looking arm concerns me, college injuries too....but I thought he saw the field and distributed the ball very well for his first start. I think he has the mind and the vision. He's NFL size and stronger this year. He's fast too.... I want to see more. I think he is a very viable prospect. I can't wait till the hall of fame game.
  9. They should have asked him who he is taking under his wing now that Stevie is gone..... Bryce? I think we have at leadt four excellent leaders now in EJ (even though he has not shown by example in a game yeat) Freddy (of course) Eric And Kyle.... I like to see another on D...... Spikes? Could it be?
  10. This is..... A funny post. Still, I think your wife picked the right year.....
  11. No, no he doesn't.... This year I don't care what anybody sez.... Let's play the game. I read previews from every team in the league and aside from QB we go toe to toe with just about anybody. Certainly in the a AFC where Denver is the only team where you say.... They have a lot of talent.... But the wheels could fall off of Denver in a week. Two of their best players coming pack from major injury. An octogenarian QB....a forty year old WR and missing key players from last year. They are no sure thing. I know, I know, QB is the most important position. I also know that a QB is a function of the rest of his team. I like our team. We fixed all our holes from last year and all four QBs are no longer rookies or first year players in Buffalo and with the coaching staff. That is huge. PS - it wouldn't surprise me at all that if Manuel gets beat-up, Teul gets in there and never looks back. He sees the field and gets rid of the ball..... (Never mind about that int vs. Kc, I'm blaming Stevie now....: ) .... I do want to see that play again. I've heard we run a lot of Coryell (sp) O and that that means the QB throws to a spot, on time....just sayin')
  12. We needed to upgrade the #3 RB spot since we signed tashard choice.... We shoulda kept Joique Bell to begin with but with an older Fred and a frail CJ we should have had a better option for quite some time. Adding Dixon and Brown was long overdue and I love having all four. Fans are gunna fall in love with Dixon at the first home game.... Can't wait till third and one.... Go Bills!
  13. Well then, we'll just have to agree to disagree.
  14. I honestly can't fathom how the comments on this post favor Super so much and Kyle so little. Kyle is the engine of our defense. He is usually the initiator gaining the momentum for out team. Super while the poster-boy for what an NFL player should look like, was found standing around and reading the D for nearly entire games. While, it is true he was asked to read, he didn't react quick enough. The Good News... The good news is that Jim Schwartz will not ask Super to do this (at least, not anywhere to the extent Pettine did). Jim Schwartz has always said his defense is defensive line friendly and it is. On nearly all plays the four linemen will be responsible for only one gap. Their primary job by far is getting upfield towards the Ball. Hopefully the QB has it when they get there. This is the main reason I think schwartz didn't take a year off (with pay). He knows our defensive linemen fit his D like a glove. Mario as the giant pass rusher, against the strong side running game. Dareus whm I think prefers playing one gap and getting in the action and stats (alas, he will still be the guy doubled by far). Kyle who is one of the better one gappers of all time. And Race Car Jerry Hughes who is the rare quick-twitch, explosive pass rusher. He's even got the legendary Kiko to play keith bullock's old role as playmaker extraordinaire. He's acquired not one, but two of the thumpers he needs in the middle to run his D. Keith Rivers role is unknown to me though, he could go from back-up and mainstay special-teamer to three-down starter and STer and everything in between. It'll be neat to see him this summer. If not him at OLB it could be a combo deal or perhaps nigel Bradham. I guess it could even be someone else there at OLB....the point is we have a ton of good looking options and if he is an unknown so be it. Because he beat out some real talent to win it. The coolest thing is he may have the best and deepest secondary he ever coached. Great things man, great things gunna happen.
  15. For those who have trouble Bearing their boss..... I've reread my SN football preview mag on da bears.... Sadly, their offense looks like it is going to be really scary again. Somehow da bears got a decent O-line last season. The O didn't add anybody or lose anybody and it doesn't look like anybody luckily over achieved last year and you expect the wheels to fall off or anything like that. To sum up, the O - line is competent but does not dominate...at the skill positions the starters can dominate....they did lose McCown however. The writer sez the Bears clearly upgraded last year's crappy D but it sounds like one of the worst in the league this year. Their best defender sounds like it's either FA pick up Jared Allen at 32 years of age or CB Charles Tillman at 33 and coming back from a torn triceps. They have another probowler in CB Tim Jennings but that's all the mag sez about him. I never heard of him....look out, it's Tim. How good can he be? Da bears did add Allen, Lamar Houston (run stopping DE) and Willie Young (pass rushing DE) but said goodbye to Julius Peppers and Henry Melton ( who was injured last year but went to the probowl before). So, I guess that a bit of an upgrade. They also drafted CB Kyle Fuller #1 and from what I've read about him they chose well. The writer gave the defense on the ave. a grade of C, which is a very low average.(the overall ave. for the Bills is B+ And Jay Skurski gave our LBs a C which I think is too low). Special teams are interesting.... They made Rick Gosslin's ST top 10 last year but the long snapper, punter and the great devon hester walked in the offseason. Could Danny Crossman redeem himself and get the Bills a W in week one? Big factors for the Bills as I see it are #1- the Bills learning how to play with confidence and learning how to win on the road. #2- Da Bears prolific and balanced O at home in the opener. #3- Stephon Gilmore - if had to name only one Bill that really needs to step up his game this year in order for the Bills to turn around 14 yrs. of losing it would be him. A gym rat, unbelievable combo of size, strength, athleticism and speed and he is a leader, gym rat and film junkie. We need him to hit his skill level. I can't think of a team to play that we'd need him more for. I know the Bills are just an on paper team, but I really think, this time, we're really going to do it. We are going to make the playoffs. This a very tough opening day for us though, especially when considering how we played on the road last year. If Marrone can get the Bills to think they are going to win and we don't shoot ourselves in the foot, I like our chances. Bears don't show Bills enough respect, Bills are chomping at the bit to show the whole world that the streak is over, Bills aggressively attack on all three phases all four quarters.... Perhaps aggressively attack is redundant? iDK? Bills - 35, da bears - 23. Go Bills!
  16. Excellent comment. I also think a thing no one has mentioned yet is that the Bills are incredibly young and new in this offense. Coaches, as a whole, want their guys to get their main offense down pat; to be natural in it, before moving on to secondary offenses....we also have to overcome by far our hardest obstacle, learning how to win. Let's get that offense believing they can score in bunches (to even convince the defense as well) before we make any other adjustments. Let's see some real success burning and ripping this offense and WINNING GAMES consistently before considering moving onto the next. We have to Billieve!
  17. They should just give us the superbowl trophy now : )
  18. Yes, by all means, let's sign race-car! Hughes = 18 sacks in 2014 (23 for the year). Go Bills!
  19. Yeah, The love for Thad in this town, I think is infounded, similarily, the hate for Tuel is also unfounded. I actually like Tuel better as a prospect. Until, "the throw" vs. KC, i thought he moved the team better than any Bills QB last year. Sure, it wasn't great, or maybe even good, but it didn't have to be, to be our best from last year. I think he got the ball out to the right guy faster than the other two..... Tuel's arm still scares me, but I think he is a decent prospect; a good guy to have as your third-stringer especially because he too, enters his second season as a Bill in this offense. I give EJ more of a bump entering his second year, because he works hard, sez all the right things, and has the skills needed to play at the ralph. I do think we have a little more than just EJ though..... Thad did surprise me in the last game of the season, so even though I think he is over-rated in Buffalo, I think his game might surprise me again. EJ's inaccuracies do raise my eye brow a little, but I also understand he is a raw piece of clay that has come a long way, but still has a long way to go before, the way they want him to play, becomes second nature. Lastly, I am one of the few that was glad to see Tuel buffed-up coming to camp. Maybe his arm is a little stronger but surely, he will be less prone to injury and things of that nature. I don't know who has the worst set of QBs; but I can tell you who has the best team to, "grow" a great NFL QB. That would be Buffalo... Go Bills!
  20. QB Manuel (hands down) RB Forever Freddy WR Sammy (so good he doesn't have to play a down) OT Cordy Glenn - seriously, after 2014. G pass C Eric Wood (just the blonde curly locks alone put him here) DE Race-Car Jerry DT Kyle! Kyle! Kyle! (Geez) OLB Kiko (the non-Kiko submitters are dead by now.) ILB Buffalo Spikes CB Buffalo Graham S - Williams
