  1. I think the defence can be dominate without him..... With him, I think our defense may be compared to the best ever. There is no player I do not like and a whole bunch that I think will be in the running for season ending awards. Including Shawn, who will be up for comeback player of the year and possibly the probowl... If Light's Out plays, I see him rotating with Mr. Anderson, slowly at first with a gradual increase depending on many factors. I really hope they can hold him back a little, increasing his odds of being healthy for the playoffs. What I like about having him is he will lay people out and intimidate opponents (for real) within the rules.... I see him taking a major leadership role with regards to player and team tpughness (and I think we need that). I think he will also keep our team's eyes on the prize.... Don't forget, he really was maybe the best defender in football three years ago and is only 28. I think he is more excited than any of us and is just dying to show everyone he can do it, and play at a probowl level without roids.... It is very exciting! I love the offense too.... Scrappy, tough and effiecient. With a great running game to keep defenses guessing and an intelligent and effective passing game that will be able to capitolize on good field position or make a good defense pay that can take away our running game.... Every single game will be special to me. Every week we need to get a little better. A little more confident, a little more demanding of themselves... Go Bills!
  2. Fitzy (obi won) is number two on the QBR at ESPN so far this year.....amazing. I didn't think he ever could be this good until after the Cincy game myself. Now, I don't see why not. So much of the game is dependent on brain power.. he can read with the best of them and he can also see the field post snap with the best. Not that he is without athleticism....I'm just sayin' He is using the force..... Go Bills!
  3. It is good to see that Donald Jones is finding ways to help the team win even though the Evans trade put him into shock (he wasn't ready mentally). Now that Parrish is down, and it looks like the Bills need him to come up big, I think he answers the bell this week at home against the hated cheaters. go bills! now if we can get Merriman to play lights out.....
  4. I was miffed they let Joique go too.....I have been following him. Led N.O. In rushing and receiving this summer..
  5. Last year, Kyle Williams absolutely crushed his opponent across from him in his game against the chefs. I was really enjoying his dominance because the announcers said he was a probowler last year, I'm pretty sure it was Waters.
  6. Different defense Four new starters, nine new spots Different outcome Go Bills!
  7. I see what your saying about Edwards, and I think a lot of players on our D are good enough to take advantage of the havoc the big 3 can provide. what about Byrd? Gobills!
  8. Shawn Merriman's value to the Buffalo Bills this year cannot be overstated. With a healthy Merriman the sky is the limit for our D this year. He is, without a doubt, one of the top 5 defensive players overall in the NFL if he is healthy. With him, our other top players Marcel Dareus and Kyle Williams become that much more effective because running backs will choose to chip Merriman instead of watching the interior at times and Merriman will force QBs to step-up into Dareus/Williams country. In return, Marcel and Kyle will make Merriman's job that much easier. Something happens to a defense when you become excellent in two areas; you get more than twice as good; you can become great. Our defense needs a leader, someone to show them how it is done. Someone who will demand accountability on the field ala Ray Lewis. Only Merriman can command that much respect from other NFL players. Merriam will get our D to believe it can play with and beat anyone. Merriman will get everybody on the D throwing their body around and working hard as they can to be not a good defense, but a great one. I will go on to say that with a healthy Merriman, our young offense would improve as well. In the NFL, if you make a mistake, there is a good chance that it is going to snowball. With a stout defense, our young receivers and backs will get more second chances to gain that all-important confidence that you need to succeed in the big league. Our quarterback, Ryan Fitzpatrick is a bonafide starter for the first time entering a season in his NFL career. He too could benefit from having more chances to establish himself. I have seen a lot of players over the years that I think would have succeeded had they more opportunity. I cannot stress this enough. You never know what twist and turns a NFL team will encounter throughout a full season. Football prognosticators are horribly mistaken each and every year about several teams. There are great things and not so good things that happen every year that were unforeseen by everybody. Shawn Merriman is a force of nature; he hedges our chances greatly that good things are going to happen to us. I hope he can get back to 100% and lead us into the playoffs. - Go Bills!
  9. Spencer Johnson - Had a hell of a year last year until he got hurt. Pears - I was wrong about him too, although what if he gets hurt? Batten - has energy and is athletic, but lights out is way too dominant to replace....if merriman can play, it'll be a fun year. carrington - looks awesome just standing there! I wish he showed a little more quicks, but I'm excited about him fer sure. Heard - someone please correct me if I am wrong, but Heard had that outstanding game against da bears where he looked like he should be starting and then, sadly, was injured right after that, probably monday, and hasn't played since. I haven't even read what he injured but someone put a light on this for me please. I thought Hairston's first game was a huge success, after hearing he was having a bad camp especially. He looks tough and mean to me, and I love that. It is too bad about Troup, I wanted to watch him closely this year to see if he really improved after all the offseason hype, as he looked pretty poor his rookie year. Spiller - he looks improved to me, he maybe needs to run lower still, as to not let anyone get under his pads. I think that is how he gets into trouble with ball security and injuries. He's gunna break a few this year! Plus, have less negative plays. As far as anyone else... nope, maybe the FA LBs, but I get them mixed up, one will make the practice squad i do believe. I have to watch the bills-jags game more, but I think you nailed the camp risers list. nice positive post! I like it! Go Bills!
  10. He is a serious owner, serious about taking every plumb nickel he can out of western New York. Serious about never having enough money. That's frightfully serious. gobills!
  11. I never cease to be amazed on how low expectations give you a healthy outlook. I once watched a game that I was told the Bills were horrible in and I didn't think it was that bad either....I have the broncos game taped but didn't watch it yet. I am hoping I get a similar opinion to yours. Whenever someone tells me a movie is awesome or I think it is going to awesome, the movie is destined to disappoint. Expectations are so important, if you want to be happier in life, try to keep them low.... A word about the debacle....if I was a coach who was trying to turn around a team that has been losing for forever, I don't know if I would put my team in a position to look terrible, there are other ways to see your units. It all sounds suspicious, but on the other hand, I can't believe we are that bad.... ramblin' on..... gobills!
  12. Mckelvin..... I thought he looked like we finally got one right after his rookie year, then he blew out his knee, then the fumble happened and then last year he just played like a nancy. Such are the fortunes of players drafted by the cursed Bills.
