La'El Collins signs with the Cowboys

Translation: The Cowboys guaranteed the most money, the fins were second. -
Whaley has definitely shown a propensity to like former first round picks too.

Could the 2015 Bills start a trend?

You're right, but it is pointless. -

Yes they snatched victory out of the jaws of defeat from a team built similar to the Buffalo Bills. That's my point - this is how you contend with the great QB teams. Commit to it as much as teams do trying to find a QB. Before anyone says it - of course it appears Wilson puts them over the top to a contender. Will it be Seattle's downfall to pay Wilson and let many key players walk? They aren't committed to staying the course. -

Yeah really great thread. Interesting acts of kindness, hearing about guys actually being good at softball that play football, and raising money to help other people - are always things I enjoy reading about. -
Could the 2015 Bills start a trend?

I think you'll agree we're a much different team than a couple years ago as our overall talent has significantly developed and been added upon. We ran the ball well but didn't stop the run - so we often didn't win that battle. I think there's been a concerted focus on building the team. I understand we've looked for a QB but without knowing it I think we could be creating the new way to win among the teams with the QB situation defined. I don't think we invented anything but trending back to an old way to win. -
I think most would categorize the 2015 Buffalo Bills as a team without a QB - meaning a "franchise QB" or in other words having one that has proven they can consistently be relied on to win games. Clearly we understand what they're doing - they attempting to win with a strong defense and running game. It's a passing league, right? The league has clearly embraced this trend in many ways by protecting QB's and defenseless receivers. Just to be clear I'm not necessarily speaking against any of that. But the rules, height of receivers, coordinators mindsets, etc have created this pass and how to stop it phenomenon. Not a whole lot has changed in terms of opportunity to run the ball. Maybe in the midst of conceding to not having a QB a new trend is about to start. Maybe teams will find out through the 2015 Bills that it's actually not prudent to keep looking for a franchise QB or even pay one if you do get one. We've seen the diminished importance of paying RB's and not too long ago teams spent a lot of resources trying to find a running back, then they just stopped. We've seen teams with franchise QB's that have had to pay a huge salary to that QB - to only watch their teams fall apart. I think it's possible the Bills are creating not only another way to win - but THE new way to win. Stop the teams that have built around their QB and destroy the teams without one because that's all they've tried to do. Remember when the team that had the ball the most usually won the game (time of possession)? I think we'll do that too. In my opinion teams that throw the ball will be the only ones with a chance to beat us and that's going to be an uphill battle. I think we're going to create panic because they'll start to figure out it's going to be a while until they see the ball again. Am I delusional? Or do the non national headline signings like Felton and Connor once again become the way to win in the NFL?

I used to do this kind of stuff - until one day when a very good friend of our family said he wasn't ever watching another movie by a certain actor because of his political view. He was actually hurting himself because the actor was always putting out excellent movies. So I just told him think of yourself as the King and the actor as the court gesture. You pay him $10 dollars and basically are telling him "entertain me - make me laugh - no wait cry so I feel sad". He laughed hysterically and continued to go to his movies feeling like a King until he passed a couple of years ago.

No one wants to come to Buffalo with the crazy weather.

Why don't we just find a franchise QB?

White Linen replied to Sandy McFiddish's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My guess is the Bills reached out to him to see if he'd be interested in a one year deal - then his agent said well we're trying to get 2-3 years - the Bills said ok we just can't do that because we've got already tough decisions to make beyond this year but we do have a bit of room this year, so if your client can't find extended years call us. -
I liked the job Dave Wannstedt did.

I also remember collecting the posters on the back page of the sports section in the Buffalo News. At the end of my collection I scotch taped them to my wall - which thrilled my parents. I remember my music teacher Mrs. Vento at Allendale Elementary gave me the only one I was missing which was Eugene Marve. I thought she was the nicest lady in the whole world for doing that for me.

4 reasons Ray Rice could sign with Buffalo Bills
White Linen replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I guess you could go through a bunch of scenarios with our existing running backs and try and make sense of interest in Rice. Fred and Boobie and Brown, etc, but for me the door closes with Karlos Williams. It's hard to make sense of it getting past the vets and a rookie being drafted. -
Let's enjoy watching it one more time!

Listened to the entire game on the Radio. As we were getting crushed I still had it on but it lost my attention - then it started unfolding into a crescendo of me jumping up and down listening as a 17 year old. -
I just recently purchased my sons NFL sticker albums (Panini). I used to love collecting those stickers and trying to fill up the album. My two sons love doing it now and we'll continue with them again this year.
