  1. It seems appropriate to reward Astro for his efforts and I know many have made mention of it. Would someone familiar with go fund me be willing to set something up? Is this kosher? Astro would you be offended by something like that?
  2. Honestly. He went from doing shows in his home office to a QB whisperer? I like listening to Sal but he confuses commentary with being a football expert.
  3. IMO the local media really doesn't have a clue. They haven't been to other training camps throughout the league to compare how teams without a franchise QB with a great defense - are performing compared to ours. The national media picks up on the local media's vibe and uses that to derive their opinion - so that's hearsay. Another example - Rex said he was "impressed" with EJ after the scrimmage - but Sal on WGR said he wouldn't call it being impressed. Well who the heck is he to not be impressed when the head coach is?
  4. I thought JJ Watt was going to be another Aaron Schobel / Chris Kelsay type player - play hard, high motor, just a decent to good player. Oops
  5. To me "protect the shield" means make sure our customers are happy. The fine line is understanding what that is vs. injecting a power trip. I think we need to always remember that the CBA that gave Goodell this responsibility was fought for by the league and it's owners. It wasn't necessarily Goodell fighting for his own supremacy. I do think the next CBA will look much different - in terms of a more expansive pre-determined chart for fines lined up with specific offenses and anything outside of that chart will be some sort of committee decision.
  6. Except generally those from Syracuse.
  7. Yeah I mostly agree with your post. I couldn't find the highest paid QB in 2000 but I'd guess it's gone up at the same rate as the salary cap. What's really helped the QB's get paid today is the rookie cap and the descent of the cost for RB's - although I think CB's have made up that difference. For example in 2007 Reggie Bush and Larry Johnson were both making over 13 million. Peterson obviously tops that mark but no one from 2 down make over 10 million. 5 of the 7 top earning RB's of all time no longer play.
  8. I can't help but feel bad for this guy.
  9. I respect your opinion and I don't want to aggravate you - but just hear me out to hopefully give you something to think about or at least understand how someone on the other side thinks. God made us in his image - which means perfect and without flaw, so at this time there was no such thing as sin or negatives. The word of God talks about God loving mankind in a very special way in terms of other things he created. It was a perfect time. His love grew and he actually became jealous for our affection - he knew the only reason we loved him back was because we didn't have the option not to. That's when he had to create the most powerful thing he ever created and that was choice. So because he loved us so much in order to know we loved him back he had to invent the option of not choosing him knowing full well this would create massive issues for eternity. Ever since that moment he had to allow things to play out - including all the consequences that not choosing him has caused. If he just intervened when he wasn't asked to he'd be a fraud and I personally understand his position so clearly.
  10. So if you believe in God - you believe each individual should decide what God wants us to do with our lives and how he should judge it?
  11. We know - and then we lost 3 draft picks to think we could make him better with Sammy. Morons I'll tell ya.
  12. Well I gotta say something about this, don't I? God's existence isn't dependent on people believing he does or doesn't - that's not the point of why we decide. There's something we can all agree on - God either does exist or he doesn't - that has to be true. The questions that one has to ask themselves are; If he does exist and I don't believe it, what's the result? If he doesn't exist and I believe he does, what's the result?
  13. Yeah singing "I would do anything for love - but I won't trade that."
  14. I really am going to miss this guy - fun player to root for - and the whole legend thing, awesome. He kind of reminds me of Dan Morgan LB from the Carolina Panthers in terms of his playing style. Played bigger than they are and get right in there and mix it up - but injuries/concussions come along with it. I'm not hoping that for Kiko but I could see injuries plaguing him.
  15. EJ sucks and rubbed off on him
  16. I know what an absolute idiot. Everyone knows you don't just ignore the QB position. You just focus on it and draft a great one - it's so simple.
  17. Why do you get to say they "ended up with Watkins" and speak only of the net? How about one second before we drafted Watkins, what did we have? Hello a first round pick - that was the trade. Watkins wasn't picked yet - we gave up 3 picks and got one.
  18. Well I can't make you believe you're wrong now can I?
  19. I ain't tradin' wit no stinkin dolpheens
  20. He already had a breakout season in 2012. It's going to be very difficult to handle a work load which he won't be asked to do - that will be Ingram. So you'll see option 2 numbers from him. They realize Sproles made a big impact and they hope Spiller can fill that void. I don't think he can entirely - but I hope he plays well.
  21. Why oh why oh why oh why did I click on this????
  22. Ok fair enough - so I'd just insert Vic, Rodak, Sal, and Kryks name in place of yours in my comment. Forgive me if I choose Whaley, Rex, and Roman over them and for that matter your opinion based on their analysis. I get it we all have our opinions that's what makes TBD a place to come - but to act like the professionals have no idea what they're doing and they should follow your lead based on you reading Sal is insulting. Very few are "gung-ho" about any QB - but we are smart enough to understand what the organization is doing in terms of building around them and that there wasn't much more that could have been done to address QB. How do you not get that? How do you not understand that there is good reason to believe that we're so good all around the QB that it's possible he can't sink the ship? Oh no, you want us to believe this "If they don't work some offseason trade deal immediately and improve this situation, it doesn't matter how good this defense or all the rest of the offense is". Well I'm sorry I think you're wrong and not as smart as the professionals - and apparently you don't think you are either. "I am unqualified to accurately assess QBs to the point where even commenting on a computer forum is a waste of everybody's time -- most of all my own. Instead I rely on the factual assertions of scouts, analysts, and reporters that report with a present sense impression."
