NFL Execs say Bills should get moving on new stadium
Jauronimo replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The chart is accurate, BUT if Buffalo continues to grow at current levels and Jacksonville's economy remains flat, we are projected to overtake them by 2053. Jacksonville is going down!!! -
Yes, they are exceptions. Once a decade exceptions. If Taylor fails to improve and we play behind a top 2 defense, maybe our ceiling is conference championship. Maybe we squeak into the super bowl and get blown out. Maybe its just a wild card game. Teams that qualify for post season play have a funny habit of making runs. The Giants limped into the playoffs twice and won super bowls. The Ravens were dead in the water and got hot at the right time. The Jets limped in with Sanchize and were a few plays away from a super bowl bid. I'm of the opinion that perennial playoff team is different than middling 8-8 team and another season of anybody's guess as to record and outcome. There's a material difference between being a top unit in any phase of the game and just average. Arguing otherwise based on whether our QB play is sufficient to be super bowl favorites or just playoff likely is silly.

I addressed what you said and then you claimed not to have said it. I had to go further up thread to find your garbage about definitions of success which was particularly weak since the Denver Broncos just won a super bowl with the worst starting QB play in the NFL. I think Super Bowl champs may meet most definitions of success. You're better than this, or at least you used to be. I can assure you its effortless.

Its almost as if there are multiple phases to the game and QB play, albeit the most important, is just an aspect of the game. What was actually said was flippant and utterly incorrect. Your pathetic attempts to wiggle out from underneath the weight of your own arrogant brand of aggressive ignorance are equally misguided.

Then by all means, clarify your argument.

NFL Execs say Bills should get moving on new stadium
Jauronimo replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree. We do need kinda need a new stadium. But not because of other owners desire for more revenue, or to stay competitive, or because it will be an economic boon to the region, but because the Ralph is old and all structures have a useful life. -
And they lost. So... Are you really so committed to your flippant comment that you're going to argue that 15th or 2nd in defense is meaningless to wins and losses unless your QB play is better than above average?

NFL Execs say Bills should get moving on new stadium
Jauronimo replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So what you're saying is: 1. 10 home games a year doesn't generate sufficient revenue to recover the costs of a new stadium. 2. The other events hosted at these state of the art multi-purpose all year facilities generate negligible revenue. 3. The economic effects of hosting even major events like the Super Bowl and Final 4 (not that Buffalo would ever host these) are brief and largely go to major corporations like hotels. 4. The costs of building a new stadium will never be offset by revenue or the other economic benefits to the area. 5. The state already wastes billions of public money. 6. Lets build a new multi-purpose state of the art stadium. Did I get that right? -
Axl Rose taking over lead singer duties for AC/DC?
Jauronimo replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
Yes. I thought it was clearly tongue in cheek as I went on to cite three more examples of bands that replaced or continued to play without their original lineup. -

What a disgrace. You can't replace the lead singer of AC/DC. Its unthinkable. Not possible. Can't be done. I think the band will sooner quit than replace their singer. It would be like Rolling Stones replacing a member, or The Who moving on with a new member, or Led Zeppelin playing after the death of a band member. NEVER HAPPENING! -
Too many of our former players went to division rivals.

Whaley forgot to add non-competes to their contracts because he is the son of Tom Donahoe and drinks babies' blood. -

Its granted in NFL think now that you need a new stadium. And why wouldn't it be when a viable business model for years has been "We can use public funds to offset CapEx and grow our revenue base. Its brilliant and risk free to us. Go NFL!!" -

They ruined the XP? The XP was the most boring play in football. It was granted. No one watched it. Now, you stay in your seat until its on the board. You don't get a head start on a piss and a beer. -

During much of the era of pain, the return game represented what felt like our best opportunity to score. -

You're the MLK of annoying Chef Jim whereas I'm the Farrakhan of pissing off Chef Jim. Non-violence has failed!!! Every dirty hippie with a bicycle, meet me outside of Jim's house!! -
He did jump whenever he did catch a ball and trap it with his gut and knees which was cute. Remember the time he laid down in the endzone and Cromartie nearly took a safety on the kickoff? Remember TJ regularly taking offside calls on special teams? Lets bring him back.

That's what they get for half assing it. As Rex pointed out, half pregnant doesn't work. You need to get fully pregnant and get drunk like women did in the 20s before those eggheads made up scary myths like fetal alcohol syndrome and not college material. -
I think this is an ideal situation. We have an unproven QB coming off a surprisingly good season. We have the convenient excuse of cap issues. We get to let him play another year on a favorable deal, one that he signed months ago, and see what we have. The risk is that he might have a great season and then might become spiteful and then might choose to play with another team? That doesn't sound like much of a risk compared to being shackled to another guy who isn't the answer for 5 more seasons.

I watched season 1. Its entertaining but the story wanders. Really wasn't sure whether it was supposed to be a comedy or drama for a few episodes.
