  1. Tentatively planning a week in Charleston and Hilton Head at the end of July. Its not the Bali trip we had imagined but it will do.
  2. I am thinking about starting a poll to see who is "so f@#$ing done with this team!" if players or coaches kneel. Someone should do it.
  3. Safety glasses are for the Marys wearing masks for fear of catching a cold.
  4. This same "silent majority" that went berzerk in 2017 and abandoned the sport when Kaepernick started the protest. Its the same "silent majority" that posted raving videos of themselves burning all their NFL gear to "boycott" the NFL. Its the same group who left the sport in 2009 when Vick was reinstated. This silent majority is extremely loud and hasn't made good on any of their previous promises to stop watching. I'll believe it when I see it.
  5. 60% to 70% of 16 has got to be higher than 6 right?
  6. I am confident that Krueger has more power than Adams.
  7. He's going to talk to every man, woman, and child in the country and get to know them.
  8. Does this rant have anything to do with what I said? Who are you arguing with?
  9. There are no statistics I am aware of that show shootings, fatalities, or use of force per police encounter. We do the best with what we have. Either way, the post I quoted completely butchered math.
  10. You're comparing gross numbers on ~60% of the population vs. ~13% of the population. By this logic, white QBs throw more interceptions than black QBs (even when accounting for Jameis Winston) and therefore are twice as careless with the football.
  11. Do we have statistics on a per encounter basis? I am conscious of the fact that even with the most robust statistics the numbers alone do not prove racism. Nor do I necessarily buy the idea of our police force as a racist institution. Trends which are more explainable via socio-economics are often attributed to race. I think the numbers are useful in that, while flawed, they directionally support the anecdotal evidence we have heard for years. The anecdotal evidence is directly supported by numerous studies on attitude toward police by race. Justice also expands beyond just our policing and covers investigations, charges, sentencing, or the lack thereof (have seen some interesting statistics on disparities in sentencing for similar crimes based on race and gender which are related to but tangential to this discuss). I have made similar arguments to yours above about crime rates and still believe that the argument is valid. Over the years my perspective has changed slightly. Years ago I would likely stop at this point of statistical analysis and dismiss the more absurd claims like "the police are hunting minorities in the streets" and go no further. The past few years of video evidence and headlines show there is a problem. Even if there isn't a single racist in uniform in the whole country (last week's headlines alone prove this is not the case), there is a problem. This problem disproportionately effects the black and minority community. People dying over selling CDs, or loosies, or sitting in the living rooms of their own homes, or calling the police for a violent crime and being shot instead of the criminal, or jogging, or knowingly/unknowingly passing a fake $20 is an unacceptable outcome. In many of these cases there were no repercussions or investigations took months to commence.
  12. These numbers do. Whites are ~60% of the population, Blacks ~14% depending on the study, which means black people are killed by police while unarmed at more than twice the rate of white people. The links I sent you in another thread paint the same story and show that the trends have actually improved over the past 5 years but the proportions have been consistent. Got a link to the WaPo figures? I have cited their data in the past and I do not recall seeing any such figures.
  13. Had they let him go he might've been found passed out in a Taco Bell or a McDonalds drive-thru!
  14. Old folks like Andy Reid, Bill Belichick, Bruce Arians, and Pete Caroll?

  17. Just wait until we start discussing dentists...
  18. I would agree with that but also add that attitudes toward short men are something we are born with.
  19. To be better than one is to be worse than all.
  20. And I'm 6'2" but I stand with Chris Morgan. https://www.tmz.com/2019/07/11/viral-bagel-guy-history-public-confrontations/
  21. We are marching on City Hall for Chris Morgan tomorrow at noon! For far too long we men have allowed our shorter brothers to be the victims of cruel jokes, pranks, and denigration. It is time that we stand with our height challenged fellow men and come together as one gender to combat discrimination and inequality in our society. Institutionalized heightism comes in many forms. Its girls calling short men their "little brother", its ride restrictions at Six Flags, its basketball, pants manufacturers. Tall privilege is real. Many of us simply do not know what its like to have to get a step ladder to reach the tops of shelves or to stare at asses and backs during concerts. We need to listen to our shorter brothers and hear their experiences if we are ever going to learn. Who's with me?!?! #BeautfulAtAnyHeight #IAmChrisMorgan
  22. Be glad you got hitched before dating moved to Tinder and Bumble. *Trigger Warning*: Every girl has a 6'0" or taller requirement. I guess its a good thing for all you guys below the mark that we have been lying to women for centuries about what 6" looks like. At this point they really can't even ballpark 72".
