We are marching on City Hall for Chris Morgan tomorrow at noon! For far too long we men have allowed our shorter brothers to be the victims of cruel jokes, pranks, and denigration. It is time that we stand with our height challenged fellow men and come together as one gender to combat discrimination and inequality in our society. Institutionalized heightism comes in many forms. Its girls calling short men their "little brother", its ride restrictions at Six Flags, its basketball, pants manufacturers. Tall privilege is real. Many of us simply do not know what its like to have to get a step ladder to reach the tops of shelves or to stare at asses and backs during concerts. We need to listen to our shorter brothers and hear their experiences if we are ever going to learn. Who's with me?!?! #BeautfulAtAnyHeight #IAmChrisMorgan -

Be glad you got hitched before dating moved to Tinder and Bumble. *Trigger Warning*: Every girl has a 6'0" or taller requirement. I guess its a good thing for all you guys below the mark that we have been lying to women for centuries about what 6" looks like. At this point they really can't even ballpark 72". -
Josh Allen and the Check Down Pass
Jauronimo replied to Protocal69's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I lost all respect for him in his last game as a Bill. Airmailing 3 straight passes 10 feet over T.O.'s head to prove some kind of point. Running out of bounds 7 yards shy of the marker to avoid contact on 4th down rather than attempt any kind of pass. He quit on the team. -
I'm no expert but the subject has fascinated me since I read The Big Short. Great book and surprisingly decent movie too.

The buildup of the housing bubble spanned 2 administrations. While Clinton played his role in loosening lending standards to build a new homeowner society the bad behavior continued under GWB and by the later stages of the game private institutions were beating the GSEs and government regulated lenders at their own game. Enter Bear Sterns and Lehman. There's enough blame to go around. I don't think laying it all on Clinton is fair. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/fannie-freddie-and-the-cra-are-not-responsible-for-the-financial-crisis/

What was your last handle on TBD? -
I really don't see the similarities. The housing market crash was a perfect storm of bad incentives, loose lending, and the revival of arcane derivatives known as credit default swaps. There was rampant fraud in the mortgage industry on top of no standards for sub prime lending. Mortgage originators didn't care about the quality of the paper they wrote as they had larger regional banks ready to buy anything they had to offer who similarly didn't care because Fannie and Freddie accepted everything without question. Fannie and Freddie didn't care because they were doing their American duty in growing the American economy (more houses means more consumption of other goods) and they were just going to slice and dice the mortgages up into CMOs and sell them all to some moron in Germany. Making matters worse, AIG guaranteed all of these dog**** CMOs 10x, 100x, and 1,000x over since they were so confident none would fail. Easy money to collect your monthly fees. AIG was guaranteeing something like $440 billion in CMOS. Distressed business loans seemingly have some actual lending practices adhered to. I am not an expert on distressed debt but I don't think lenders have a CLO end-buyer who is as gullible and inept as our favorite GSEs Fannie and Freddie. Again not an expert, but I from what I understand no one in their right mind is writing Credit Default Swaps after 2008. K-9 is right. Michael Burry among others was highlighted in The Big Short after convincing AIG and banks to offer him CDSs (these products were not available at the time) and made a killing. The bad news is that unless you're an institutional investor with certain licenses these securities are not available to you. You can short the banks I guess.

While Elvis invented rap as everybody knows, the black community really drove the direction and advancement of rap until Vanilla Ice entered the scene and made the genre completely uncool for a number of years. DMX and his provocative barking ultimately revived rap music as a legitimate art form in 1998 but it has been all down hill from there. Cole Beasley is also a rapper and confessed person who loves to rap. The more you know.

I would link directly to the WaPo but the article is now behind a paywall and I don't subscribe. https://thesocietypages.org/toolbox/police-killing-of-blacks/ Some discussion on the rate of unarmed deaths. 5% looks like a low number but its 1 in 20 individuals. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6080222/ Maybe the issue isn't systemic or nationwide, but it certainly looks like Minneapolis has a problem. https://www.forbes.com/sites/tommybeer/2020/06/03/minneapolis-police-are-7-times-more-likely-to-use-force-against-black-people/#7c8cdafb1321 All the stats I've seen over the years are consistent and point to materially higher rates of shootings and fatalities. I disagree with the assertion of negligible differences. One major grey area is situation and relevant facts as detailed in the "Is this the right comparison?" paragraphs. We also have no statistics in how many times a routine traffic stop results in an arrest or jaywalking like the video from Tulsa. We do have lots of anecdotal evidence and together with the raw data it tells a consistent story. Make your own conclusions. -

The white man simply cannot catch a break in this country. But we shall overcome! There's no shortage of ignorance and racism out there and its hardly the exclusive domain of white America. But there is a stark difference in the effects of racism in America, generally speaking. While us low-melanin Americans are subject to inflammatory posts on social media lumping us all in with supremacists and Klansman and a host of accusations which upset and offend racism manifests itself as loss of opportunity, jobs, income, housing, and life for other members of society. -

Politics in Football, Sports in General

https://www.wnycstudios.org/podcasts/radiolab/episodes/football Both podcasts are interesting but the Ghosts of Football Future touches on the decline in interest among the younger generation. E-Sports/video games is pointed to again and again as a leading cause of waning participation by youth coaches. There are more options for entertainment today. Less kids playing football and other sports means less interest in the pro game. -

Looks like the fastest way to get removed from the police force isn't through misconduct, its through blowing the whistle on another officer's misconduct. -
Is now the time to remove OJ Simpson from the wall of fame and HOF?

No one is dismissing the importance of the flag and I have NEVER said the flag is a symbol of injustice. This is a strawman argument created by you to prove god knows what. Its a similar strawman that was used to dismiss Kaepernick. If you can label his protest "disrespectful to the flag" it can be summarily dismissed. Good luck proving the act of kneeling during the anthem is inherently disrespectful to the flag. And its not just the typo. Its the whole semantics of your statement. What is the "it" in your opening sentence because if its the same "it" as in the post you quoted, you're referring to the talking point of "disrespecting the flag" which makes no sense. If the "it" is the flag, then your post still makes no sense. To summarize, you have a total non-sequitur, a strawman, and a conclusion of a double standard on someone's part. Pure gibberish. -

It proves about as much as this gibberish: I've read this 30 times and it still makes no sense. At least it was funny before you edited "simple" to "symbol". -

Nice cop out, Bill. Why don't you stick to crusading about defensive backs and diagnosing strangers with mental illness for having the audacity to protest. Here are some original thoughts for you: "I support the flag", "I support our police", and "I support the troops". I bet that gives you a semi. Drink it up, Bill. Drink it up! -

Everyone has the right to be wildly incorrect. I don't know why so many choose to exercise it. You're welcome to argue why kneeling during the anthem is inherently disrespectful. You're welcome to argue Kaepernick's intent was to disrespect the flag. You're welcome to argue why the Green Beret who recommended kneeling as a respectful form of protest is wrong and hates America and all that it stands for but you won't be anymore successful than all of the people who tried the same in this thread.
