  1. Definitely looking at going to a home game this year, perhaps the second home game of the year, and New Orleans is a really quick flight from Houston.
  2. Looking at going to Bali and island hopping around Indonesia around Xmas time. Flights and hotels are cheap right now but I won't book anything that isn't fully refundable. I'd like to do a long-weekend in Mexico City soon but not sure how feasible that is with my wife's schedule.
  3. As much as general consensus among Sabres fans is we got fleeced, seeing some commentary from Bruins fans that they are concerned about adding Hall to their lineup with his team's history of under achievement.
  4. Linus has really stepped up his game this year. He's a miraculous 8-6-0-3 on the worst team in the league. I hope they can get a deal done with him and blast Hutton into the sun.
  5. He fiddled while the Sabres lost 18 straight.
  6. Its a shot across the bow for those pontificating about gang life, broken families, drugs, and crippling poverty because these are explanations for why NFL players are committing crimes at higher rates than other Americans. They believe this to be the case because of the preponderance of stories in the news where a player who was at one time associated with the NFL gets arrested. Conflate these events with some players stories about overcoming long-odds and sports as a vehicle out of a life of drugs and crime and you have a nice little narrative. Turns out this narrative doesn't hold a lot of water and is not supported by the available statistics. Certain undertones in the perpetuation of this narrative, whether it be the sympathy angle or the hoodlum angle, are also interesting. Things that don't make the news. NFL player overcomes middle class rural existence to play professional ball. NFL player invests conservatively and stays out of trouble. Average Joe arrested for DWI. Joe Six Pack arrested for domestic incident.
  7. It sounds like you chew through a lot of massage therapists trying to find one thats down with ass play and hand parties.
  8. DMX is now dead and its @Gugny's fault.
  9. See the second post in this thread. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-rate-of-domestic-violence-arrests-among-nfl-players/#:~:text=That 55.4 percent is more, our estimated 21 percent nationally.
  10. Orton attempted the forward pass on occasion and stood in the pocket. Edwards last play as a Bill was running out of bounds 7 yards short of the marker on 4th down. Didn't even try and throw it. Wouldn't risk being touched in the field of play.
  11. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2556219-tom-brady-once-endorsed-a-sports-drink-that-claimed-concussion-protection.html Its more than that. Go eat some $40 organic nut mix courtesy of TB12 while you craft your next wave of half-assed excuses.
  12. Keep talking. I will rub my nutsack on your drum set.
  13. Never liked Hitner. McGahee was tough to like. Trent Edwards was perhaps the most gutless player to ever don a Bills jersey.
  14. Let me lay out the case: - It has been illegal to hit Brady for most of his career. - There are at least 2 known rules that were changed/added to the books because of Tom Brady. - No player in sports has lobbied the officials more effectively than Tom Brady through his incessant whining. - He walked out on his pregnant baby mama to shack up with another woman. - He might be more vain than his model wife and has had more cosmetic surgery than Joan Rivers, including nose job, chin/jaw implant, hair plugs. - He kisses his children on the mouth which is weird.. - Despite his immense wealth, he still sells snake oil at exorbitant prices like Concussion Water. Some of the claims he makes about his products are straight up irresponsible at best, dangerous at worst. - He once modeled Uggs. - He maintained a side business arrangement with Bob Kraft which still looks like a blatant skirting of the NFL salary cap and major competitive advantage. - He handled his deflate gate scandal with all the transparency and humility that we would expect from a Patriot and then had the audacity to complain about his punishment. In summary, has been an entitled, petulant, douchebag through the entirety of his career and no one is required to kiss his ass just because of his on-field accomplishments. No one gushes about MJ the person just because he put a ball in the hoop better than anyone else.
  15. So you understand hating a team because their fans are douchebags but you cannot understand hating a team because the actual players on the team are douchebags? Both are irrational viewpoints that we as sports fanatics are guilty of. I don't know how you're splitting the hair to think one is more justified or normal than the other.
  16. Its not fair. In a perfect world, eating gut would make your junk bigger.
  17. Hes an injury prone defensive back not Mary Magdalene. We don't need no born again Hookers.
  18. There's inherent risk in picking up Hooker but its an intriguing proposition nonetheless. If the money is right for the term of services to be rendered we could fill a hole or two. Beane should explore all options. Kick it around a bit maybe put a cigarette out on it but just don't fall in love with Hooker. And no kissing on the lips.
  19. It doesn't make headlines when Joe Blow the claims adjuster gets popped for soliciting prostitution or Bill in accounting beats his old lady. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/the-rate-of-domestic-violence-arrests-among-nfl-players/#:~:text=That 55.4 percent is more, our estimated 21 percent nationally. While rates of DV in the NFL is significantly lower than the national average, it is higher than expected according to 538. Although I do question comparing a population who can make "rich people money" for an average of 3 to 5 years with crime rates among other wealthy Americans as like populations. Commence your pontification of poverty, gang influence, rap music and violent video games and how its leading NFL players to commit crimes, including DV, at lower rates than the rest of society. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-nfl-arrests-study/arrests-in-u-s-general-population-higher-than-for-nfl-players-study-idUSKCN0QU2EL20150825
  20. I had suspected he wasn't near 100% this year. I believe I heard that they purposefully put him in a position where he wouldn't have to punch with his bad arm/pec side, but I don't know if that even makes sense. He also went down a handful of times holding his knee late in the season and postseason as I recall. Not saying that a healthy Mongo keeps Chris Jones out of our backfield or jumpstarts the running game but its a start. I have to believe that Beane/Daboll/McDermott thinks a healthy Mongo and healthy Ford can get the run game going and keep the Chiefs pass rush out of Allen's face.
  21. Was anyone else relieved that finish the song lyric didn't feature one of those songs Josh was listening to in high school with the N-word in it? I really thought that was where Kyle was going given all the questions had a personal connection.
  22. I have off and on smoked while drinking. This was hardest to avoid when single and going out a lot especially since all the bars in Texas have outdoor space where smoking is allowed. It was never too much of a struggle to quit if I had a good reason (i.e., started seeing a girl who despised smoking). Then I met a girl who vaped, mostly when drinking, and I got into that as it seemed harmless compared to cancer sticks. That was harder to give up. It doesn't stink up your clothes, car, or your home so you don't have to walk outside to do it or try to mask the scent on your clothes if you're going out. You can get away with it discretely even when you're in a building. You aren't faced with looking at overflowing ash trays to remind you that what you're doing is disgusting. There were a few stops and starts but when one of our pets had what the vet called an asthma attack, it was a no brainer to eliminate vaping from the equation.
  23. I used to workout regularly and eat well and I quit that this past week. It took a lot of will power but I have managed to drink, eat garbage, and stay up late watching TV every night this week. One day at a time.
