  1. Architectural engineering and computers have come a long way in the last 50 years, and along with it wind load simulation and analysis. I assure you, even in the "plains of ECC South," winds can drastically be reduced with a properly designed open-air stadium (note I said reduced, not eliminated completely as I'm certain someone will try to make that strawman argument after reading this). It will be a huge difference from that hole-in-the-ground with 2 giant aerofoils (upper decks) that create a vortex inside of a wind tunnel. I also don't think it's this extreme competitive disadvantage that many fans make it out to be. Winning and a stud QB cures that problem. And if you're a party boy that just wants to flash money and chase women up and down the beach, then head to Miami. Only hard-nosed football players need apply here (you want Antonio Brown or Cole Beasley?) It's crazy that some people are still using a Superbowl as an impetus for a dome. You nailed it, we're getting a draft and a combine.
  2. The partially-covered Seattle model has been my preference since it was built. Fantastic design!
  3. I'm 100% confident you have no idea what your'e talking about if you think we can absorb those 2 salaries. Not even considering how lame Barkley looks after that ACL tear.
  4. It's easy to like the move if you envision them winning the Lombardi.
  5. That's a silly comparison. None of those players listed are young and on rookie contracts. The Rams have control over Miller for 9 games. That's it.
  6. The guy was shot 5+ years ago, been nothing but fool's gold for the past half-decade. He'll be 35 in a month. Is it even possible for Kupp to be open more that he is right now? 2K rec yds finally broken in 17 games maybe? ^^^ Just copy and paste this quote until this thread fades away.
  7. What a terrible signing.
  8. I think a good portion of our fan base carries a massive inferiority complex.
  9. What does this game have to do with Hail Murray?
  10. Time of Possession GB 21:19 ARI 8:41 Great job keeping them off the field so far.
  11. Just stop with this nonsense. He's 32 yrs. old with 11 years on the D-Line and never comes off the field (90+% snaps). He should have been on a rotation years ago but that's tough to do when he has a $100M contract. Houston ran him into the ground last year to the tune of 1,013 def snaps at age 31. It was never going to end well, but it doesn't mean he's juicing.
  12. Pretty sure everyone in the studio knew he was hammered. He didn't even have the coordination to take his hands out of his pockets. The man went hard both on and off the field.
  13. It means it benefits Goodell to keep the spotlight on Watson rather than the WFT investigation.
  14. Was searching for some Bruce sacks and just remembered this
  15. Demario Davis had the best half of football by a MLB I've seen since...Ray Lewis? That was insane.
  16. This. There's a segment of the fan base that can talk themselves into any outcome being beneficial somehow i.e. this loss might be a "blessing." We've already had 2 "blessings" in the first 6 weeks I can do without any more. Everyone that was around in the early 90's would laugh at this notion.
  17. He's on the wrong side of 30 and probably doesn't make a ton of sense for a team with our D-line depth and a front office that doesn't make knee-jerk reactions. His off the field persona is exemplary, however. He's a pillar of the community in every sense of the phrase - providing advocacy and support to families of special needs children and has established multiple charitable foundations. It's a much bigger loss for the city of Houston than the team. Not sure if that moves the needle at all, but it definitely doesn't hurt.
  18. It's not downtown it's the old first ward, which makes this idea even funnier. Since we're going to have about 2 more years of these threads before they break ground in Orchard Park, here's some reading material: Sports, Jobs, and Taxes: The Economic Impact of Sports Teams and Stadiums It's written by a Stanford professor emeritus in economics and former senior economist for the President’s Council of Economic Advisers. TLDR - NFL stadiums don't spur economic growth, and in many cases they may actually hinder it.
  19. Yeah they set that one up on a tee and the broadcast team whiffed. I think Levy was drunk, I'm pretty sure I heard him call our QB Tannehill and he didn't seem to understand that the game was on the line for that 4th down play.
  20. To quote Jay Skurski from the BN - "Please, if you hear someone say that if you “subtract the 76-yard run,” the Bills did a pretty good job against Henry, stage an intervention with that person." I already know that's going to be the most repeated phrase of the next 2 weeks
  21. The Dominos? Tonight would have been Derrick and The Dominos ok I'll let myself out...
  22. I didn't hear that narrative. How many players from this D were even on the team when we played them 3 games ago?
  23. Our base D is nickel, we're just not built to stop a power running game. And boy, did it show tonight.
