  1. It's important because you struggle to understand things?
  2. The player that wears the greet dot (aka the headset) doesn't make the calls, he simply relays them from the coach to the rest of the defense. You want two things out of this player: 1) Has to be on the field for 99+% snaps (a LB that subs out in nickel/dime packages isn't optimal) 2) Has to be in a position where the defense can hear him (a DT or CB playing off the ball isn't effective) Typically MLBs fit these requirements and that's why Edmunds wore the dot in past years. I think I saw 5 or 6 teams put the dot on safeties last year so it isn't something that is set in stone for MLBs. Kirksey wore the dot in the past for the Texans, but they starting subbing him out on passing downs and gave the dot to Zach Cunningham because he was always on the field. Years ago I used to try to explain this to people who were amazed that Kiko Alonso was calling defense plays as a rookie. lol he got the dot because he was the only every-down LB on that team that didn't come off the field.
  3. It's not that he was aging, it was his concussion history. He already had 5 concussions by 2020 at a position where there's contact on every play. He's a huge question mark to make it through 17 games. During that 2021 draft I wrote that we had a shot to get Josh his Kent Hull for the rest of his career. Unfortunately, Creed Humphrey went to one of the worst possible destinations for us.
  4. Nate Hackett is trending because he came across as a complete goofball this week.
  5. I'm calling BS. The idea of shopping a franchise quietly is nonsense.
  6. Beane has been on Miller's SiriusXM radio show every year since he's been a GM. It seems they have a good relationship and not inconceivable that they speak off the record. Beane's rumored persuit of Lance lends credence. Of course, the clear evidence is how poorly the backups have played, especially in terms of protecting the football.
  7. So much for protecting the football
  8. Miami is an intriguing destination for him. McDaniel was his OC in SF 2021 and with Tua's injury history you would have to think he gets playing time.
  9. Nope. Players are bigger, stronger, and faster than they've ever been and their bodies can't take that kind of punishment to sustain the longevity it would take (15+ seasons).
  10. Another good tip - if you ever have a gift card with a few dollars left over on it always save them for offers like this. Never have to worry about cancelling or being charged (assuming not enough money left on the card for transfer to go through).
  11. If we built a $3B domed stadium in the heart of downtown Buffalo we still wouldn't get a Superbowl. It's not about the dome. It's not about the location. It's really not even about the hotel space. Nobody wants to be in Buffalo in the middle of f*cking February. How hard is that to understand? Yes, let's have hundreds of reporters from around the world trapped in their rooms during a -10 degree whiteout reporting on....on....nothing? Buffalo is not nearly as bad as it's portrayed in the media, but it really doesn't shine in January/February. And that's being polite.
  12. I believe hallucinogenic drugs are fine, as long as he doesn't open up FanDuel on his phone and start betting.
  13. Let's just say his HOF enshrinement won't be based on his 9/11 conspiracy theories.
  14. Can you tell us whether there was alcohol involved when you made this post?
  15. It's a lot easier than apologizing or actually admitting they made a mistake. In some twisted way it also allows them to believe that they are still standing on some moral high ground.
  16. The woman’s attorney, Dan Gilleon, said he had not see the lawsuit yet “and we don’t litigate in the media.” This guy's a real piece of work 😂
  17. Not only do running QB's not last, I'll take it further and state that even running backs do not last. Running in today's NFL is a ticket to early retirement. Jackson, Fields, and Hurts will all miss some games this year and it won't even be the least bit surprising to people that understand this (Although I think most do understand this and many just need a "comfort thread").
  18. Agreed, there's a lot of potential for profits in shipping now compared to 30 years ago. Someone posted in this thread that they actually turned a profit last year.
  19. The Post Office is more of a public service than a business. Nobody goes around saying the military loses $750B a year.
  20. Giants have 15 WRs right now. He's camp fodder.
  21. Actually they are. Except it's in Las Vegas.
  22. Also it's not really the age, it's the mileage. Fred Jackson was effective into his 30's because he didn't get a full NFL workload until he was 27/28. I guess these poor RB's are just going to have to start clipping Beefaroni coupons out of the Sunday paper.
  23. That farewell statement seemed terse. Maybe they got into a fistfight?
  24. It was a more than just Elliott. Todd Gurley's 4yr/$60M deal blew up in their faces. Kamara's 4TD season last year certainly isn't why they gave him 5yr/$75M. Listening to Jets fans crow about getting Le'Veon Bell for $50M and watching him instantly crash and burn was funny. Carolina gave CMC $65M and he wound up playing like 2 games that year. I believe next year he missed half the season and ultimately they cut bait. There's more I'm missing I'm sure.
