Was Baker Mayfield a DOUCHE Yesterday?
Livinginthepast replied to Johnny Hammersticks's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow Booger from Revenge of the Nerds even uses this line in the movie "I thought I was looking at my mother’s old douchebag, but that’s in Ohio” It all fits!! Baker Mayfield IS booger from Revenge of the Nerds!! Baker should have used that quote describing Hue on the podium!! -
Was Baker Mayfield a DOUCHE Yesterday?

I love that line! Add it to the dictionary and define it as a "consistent and utter failure". Hue pulled a Peterman at Cleveland in every way!! -
I just had this flashback to the early Simpsons and Homer giving a speech about Jiko Kanri (The Japanese art of self management) but nobody is listening because Homer is bald!

Doug Marrone, "obviously" trifecta.

Obviously the coach of the Bold City team is upset!! -
I feel sorry for a guy who has had the dreck at QB this guy has had. I thought he called a decent game against us yesterday and if not for Fournette's ejection they might have had 300 yards on the ground!! Also a little shocked that the mercurial St.Doug would throw his buddy under the bus like that. I thought that Hacket and him were tight!

In a weird hockey fan kind of way I have way more respect for Lawson after that altercation than ever before. It was stupid for him to throw punches against a helmeted player no doubt but baiting Fournette and getting him kicked out, was the game changing moment. It reminded me of so many hockey fights in the 80s when a fight or brawl completely changed the entire momentum of the game. The Bills got mad and the crowd got into it. The Jags for all their fake swagger didn't man up and the Bills did. It woke up everybody on that Bills sideline even McD! I loved it!

Those were some overoficious jerks!

I think NFL officiating is the worst of the major sports. It is inconsistent and incompetent and quite frankly many of these guys are way too old and out of position. Yesterday was another showcase for this ineptness as a bunch of the calls were ticky tack or just plain wrong. HOWEVER, the majority of the calls in that game were actually correct. Both teams at times played ill disciplined and sloppy football. Some of those fouls were blatantly stupid penalties that gave the refs no choice but to call them. How in the hell do these guys keep facemasking people? are they closing their eyes when they tackle? I thought the ejections of Shaq and Fournette were also completely justified. Throw a punch and you are out. What's even more stupid is why you would throw a punch at a player with a helmet? You want to break your hand? The Bills too many men penalty was also blatantly obvious and completely inexcusable! As bad as the refs (and this crew in particular) are, both teams yesterday made it easy for them to call penalties. -

Apparently the record for penalties in a game is 39 penalties Seahawks/Bucs 1976. -

The lack of discipline and sloppiness from everyone connected to this game is mindblowing! -

I love the commentator saying that Allen has "learned a lot" from Derek Anderson. Give me a break! What exactly? to be completely inept? Hopefully he watched Barkley and not Anderson! -
Charles Clay - back in 2019?
Livinginthepast replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yet another overpaid disappointment of a player from the last few years. Him, Dareus, KB, have never performed at any level close to what they should have. Watching Kelce gash the Rams on MNF just shows how an effective TE can make all the difference. Clay is hurt too much and too ineffective to be paid what he has been. Just like Colonel Kurtz, Clay's career in Buffalo should be terminated "with extreme prejudice". -
Seriously I cannot believe how many people on here are terrified about offensive football. There were a couple of unusual characteristics of last nights game that people should maybe consider before they get their panties in a bunch. #1 those were two great young QBs skillfully operating 2 high powered stacked offenses (definitely not the norm in the NFL). #2 Those were 2 highly regarded coaches in an awesome contest there (Once again not the norm in this league of blockhead coaches). #3 The defenses didn't just lay down in that game, they actually DID make huge plays for both teams (sacks, forced fumbles, athletic INTs which translated into defensive TDs). This game was so great because it was so unusual. Trying to argue that every NFL coach and GM is going to emulate this game plan going forward is ludicrous. As if they could! Good luck with that! In addition what do some people want exactly on here? a 1940's muddy ground and pound game that ends 6-3? A repeat of the Bills Colts snow slugfest from last year? Is that "real" enough football?

One of the best games I've ever seen. It took me back to some of those epic Monday night football games of the 80s like Marino beating the Bears in 85. However what it reminded me most of was the epic in Miami playoff game between the Chargers and Dolphins from the 1981 season. So many great plays and despite the score, both defenses made several huge plays. The problem for both these teams going forward is that they seem to both have mediocre to terrible defensive secondaries which any decent playoff QB could easily exploit.
