9/22 Bills vs. Bengals 2nd half thread

I think you challenge your offense to get that 4th down or at least try to draw them offside. -
9/22 Bills vs. Bengals 2nd half thread
Livinginthepast replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They need to cut this sht out. Both sides of the ball gifted the Bengals back in this game. -
The refs overall yesterday were very ticky tack with the calls . At least their ineptness evened out for both teams . However, the blind side block was completely mild and more of a gentle body check than a vicious hit. It should have never got a flag. The Giants defensive penalty on the FG was also a bit harsh although the he did grab his head. It wasn't a Deacon Jones head slap from the 70s. The real gaffe from the officials came in the Saints game on the fumble return TD that was blown dead. I don't know what the issue if with the NFL but instead of getting better, these guys are getting worse every year!

Kind of ironic that the Raiders and the Packers played their preseason game in Winnipeg and the field had to be shortened because the NFL officials were terrified of the risk of injury at one of the patch areas of field turf that normally has the CFL goal post. So they moved the field up. Yet the Raiders and the NFL are cool with playing on that terrible excuse for a field in Oakland? where there are literally wide swathes of field to break bones on?

Cody Ford personal foul defending Allen
Livinginthepast replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I loved what he did pushing that idiot off Josh. I cant even believe Ford got a penalty. The Giant player flopped over like a Euro soccer player in the box and conned the ref. There hasn't been enough of that kind of feistiness by the Bills players in the last few years when it comes to standing up for each other and I was glad to see it. -
Adam Vinatieri might be retiring
Livinginthepast replied to BillsFan4's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Vinatieri is a HOF kicker. Once again the Pats had the great fortune to sign him when they did. Just like Brady. Goddam I hate them. One of the neatest pieces of trivia around Vinatieri which has nothing to do with football is that his great great grandfather was in Custer's band of the 7th cavalry but did not participate in the fighting at Little Big Horn and survived. -
Zay Jones blocking ability - I’m impressed

I will say that Zay looked a little guilty like he dropped it! -

Zay Jones blocking ability - I’m impressed

I wondered if it was a bad throw or a drop. CBS of course had no replay because they suck. So I will give Zay a break on that one. -
Primetime is BacK!!!!Back!!! BacK!!!!!!
Livinginthepast replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For people of a certain age (born before 1975) this show represents everything that was great about the NFL. Great in depth highlights, great analysis, great humour and Chris Berman who loved the Buffalo Bills. It was an utter travesty that the idiots in the league agreed with the Aholes at NBC that ESPN could no longer run NFL primetime at 7PM on Sundays. Why? because it might distract viewers from NBC's epically lame football night in America highlights which basically was weak in all the areas where Primetime was strong. ESPN for their part should have pressed on with the show with full support but instead ran it in a different slot where it withered and died. -
Anderson fined pittance for late hit on Allen
Livinginthepast replied to WideNine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Once again the jokers at league office don't connect the dots from a repeat offender Anderson to a repeat offender coach Williams to the incident itself and come up with a fine that would be parking ticket for the average person. Sheer brilliance once again! -
New Antonio Brown Article
Livinginthepast replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is where Robert Kraft and his legal team initiates "the Chewbacca defense" to get Antonio's charges dropped or delayed so he can win another SB for the Pats! -
Zay Jones blocking ability - I’m impressed
Livinginthepast replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Joking Zay blocks for Jesus isn't necessarily bringing up "the incident" and I think his faith is germane to any discussion about him being on the team because McD and Beane seem to value intense Christian faith overly positively in their decision making on personnel (see Peterman). Which I think is insane. If Zay deserves a spot on the team it should be on his overall game and not just his blocking. There seems to be a lot of excuses thrown his way that other players don't get when they underperform. I'd be happy to see him do well but his faith shouldn't cloud any discussions for the Bills in their evaluation. -
Henry Anderson cheap shot. UNREAL
Livinginthepast replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The NFL has shown time and time again that they are a league that just doesn't get it. About the only player in the league who seems protected and untouchable to dirty shots is Brady. Everybody else seems to be fair game to dirty hits. The league seems to think that if the refs didn't see it and didn't call it then it never happened. Its like WWE out there except the refs are just oblivious and haven't been knocked out. Cam Newton went through this repeatedly in Carolina a couple of years ago where he would take shot after shot and late hits with no calls or punishments to the offending player involved. Josh had a few last year as well. These dirty players do these sly hits because they know they will never face justice. The league doesn't seem to be interested in doling out punishments after the fact. I hope they act this time! -
Henry Anderson cheap shot. UNREAL
Livinginthepast replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wow that's a shockingly dirty hit. Of course the refs missed it. The fact that it wasn't that hard or didn't injure Josh is irrelevant to the dirty intent. He was trying to get a shot in on the back of Josh's knee. And this after he injured our kicker last season? This guy should be fined for a 2nd offense! -
Rich Gannon: not a great color guy
Livinginthepast replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
During the SB years and up until probably the end of the Flutie bills we had much better commentators for our games. Then a few things happened, the NFL expanded and the quality of these announcing crews was seriously diluted, A lot of the old school quality announcers got old and retired and the most important factor: the Bills started to suck and became irrelevant. For almost two decades we have had to suffer through the worst crews calling our games with inept color commentary from ex players who haven't done any homework. They usually got the traditional Buffalo crib sheet, Bad weather, chicken wings, playoff drought, 4 SB losses, homerun throwback, etc, etc. Gannon isn't great but he is slightly more tolerable than Solomon Wilcotts or Dan Dierdoff (and his bromance with "Tom"). -
Week Two: Bills at Giants
Livinginthepast replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would like to know if a team has ever played two straight road games in the same stadium ever. The Bills have played 2X at the meadowlands in a season before but never had a schedule of two straight weeks in a row there. Just a bizarre schedule! -
The Safety. What did I miss?
Livinginthepast replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Apparently he was being sneaky and had the ball behind his back! Just a ridiculous initial call from an official who couldn't possibly have seen it and a total cop out from the replay crew in the booth. -
The Safety. What did I miss?
Livinginthepast replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A couple things about this play. 1. How did the official who made the call see it so clearly when his view was obstructed?. If you see the official run in he excitedly makes the call immediately as if there wasn't a doubt in his mind. 2. You CAN see the Bills running back get past the goal line at which he gets takes a wicked hit which not only stops him but takes him off his feet, and then the negative momentum piles him back into the endzone . I guess that where he landed provided the official with the illusion that he never left the end zone. 3. I don't understand how a big money league in a billion $ stadium has no direct overhead sky cam view? That would have easily answered the question without doubt but somehow there wasn't one?? -
