Can WR separation be coached?
Livinginthepast replied to ChicagoRic's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is exactly right. When was the last time you saw one of our wide receivers fake a db out of his shoes? or even make them turn the wrong direction on a cut? They don't seem to be able to juke or double move in any deceptive way at all. Which is bizarre to me. Some of these guys have been playing the position for more than a decade from pop warner on, yet there is little in the way of expertise shown! -
I'm already slipping into "Charlie Brown" mode. Yes this time I will kick the football Lucy is holding and this time Nate Peterman will finally light it up in a regular season NFL game!! I know its absolute madness that is descending on me!! A question though? who will back up Peterman? Pryor? Who is on the practice squad as well. Peterman has already been concussed in one game last season. This is an absolutely insane situation for a professional sports franchise to put themselves in!!

Atmosphere at last nights game
Livinginthepast replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was really glad to see Marv still looking well. Amazing for a 93 year old! Thurman looks like he could still play (and probably better than some people currently on the Bills). -
Would Manziel be a better qb with this team?
Livinginthepast replied to Bfanlc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely not!! Manziel has had a very poor season in Montreal. He got concussed, only won 1 game and lost 6 as starting QB. His throwing ability and accuracy have suffered great in his absence from the game. Finally his vaunted escapability has diminished as well. I thought he might be a Flutie version 2.0 but he is nowhere near that in the CFL this year. -
Bills vs. Patriots MNF Postgame
Livinginthepast replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've gone from excitement to despair and now anger these past 8 weeks. How in the hell can the Pegulas sit back and watch as these 2 clowns in charge of the Bills operate the team like they are feckless teenagers? Derek Anderson is an embarrassment to this franchise. He has no place whatsoever on this team or any other NFL team. Peterman should have been cut before the season started. No hope whatsoever on the O line. Terrible special teams (except for Hauschka). They pick a decent prospect in Allen then throw him to the wolves and get him hurt. Its one intensely stupid thing after another and we deserve so much better as fans. -
Derek Anderson injury - in concussion protocol
Livinginthepast replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Anderson looked very beleaguered out there and that last series took 2 punishing shots. I cant believe those wouldn't hurt like hell at 25, let alone at 35 . I wouldn't be surprised if he asked for his release from this horror show. Why would you risk your long term health for this garbage?? -
MNF Game day thread - Pats vs Bills
Livinginthepast replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This game has turned out just as I feared. We showed up on D but Anderson has been pathetic. Not a viable QB even when compared to Peterman. In fact he is embarrassing himself right now and further exposing the idiocy of this coach/GM. -
Did McCoy Quit or Did the Bills Shelve Him?
Livinginthepast replied to Gugny's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is a lot you can say about McCoy's "character issues" but quitting on his team isn't one. He hit his head hard and got knocked silly. As for the conspiracy theory on the Bills putting him into concussion protocol so that they could trade him. Wouldn't doing that lower his trade value? Makes no sense. -
Bronco's cut Chad Kelly
Livinginthepast replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have a strong feeling Manziel will be cut by the Alouettes at the end of the season. He hasn't won a single game and his performance overall has been less than impressive. In addition he sustained a pretty significant concussion. It will take a miraculous comeback to save his career. -
Bronco's cut Chad Kelly
Livinginthepast replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No sorry I meant Pacman Jones, not Zay Jones. Sorry for the confusion. Pacman Jones puts the D in Dbag. -
Bronco's cut Chad Kelly
Livinginthepast replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I never said that Zay Jones was a dbag. Far from it. What I was getting at with him was that his incident was very messy and very public. He was out of his mind. I thought for sure that he would never play football again. This year he is back and the incident is forgotten. 2nd chances in the NFL are possible no matter how crazy the situation is. But yes Kelly hasn't proved anything yet and has already burned a few bridges. His chances at redemption are few at this point but we could sign him for almost nothing and if it fails and he acts his usual self, then cut him. -
Bronco's cut Chad Kelly
Livinginthepast replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
"you guys"? what guys are those? the burgeoning Chad Kelly fan club? LOL I really didn't know he existed until about 2 months ago. I'm just throwing it out there as a discussion point. Bring him in or not , I don't really care that much either way. However to say that Kelly is any more of an idiot or dbag than say Vick, Peterson or Jones is just silly. And to say that what he did is any more crazy than Zay jones is also not being fair. Finally saying that Kelly is probably better than Peterman or Anderson is just being honest. Its just a hypothetical discussion anyway because McJesus and Co would never give him a chance. Kelly's sins are probably unpardonable in their eyes and they have proven themselves somewhat clueless at assessing offensive talent! -
Bronco's cut Chad Kelly
Livinginthepast replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We are obviously not comparing "apples to apples" for a number of reasons. But at the same time we never really did get an explanation of what happened to Zay and what led him to do what he did? Was he high/drunk as well? Yes Kelly is a dbag but as we have seen countless times in the NFL people get 2nd and sometimes 3rd chances if they have talent. What Vick did was absolutely horrendous, same as Adrian Petersen but they are/were back in the league. Pacman Jones is another example. The NFL tends to give you a pass if you have talent. Does Kelly have enough talent to be a QB in this league? I would say yes. But his constant dbaggery has killed his chances with Denver and lowered his draft spot. I still stand by the idea that he is superior to both Anderson and Peterman! -
Bronco's cut Chad Kelly
Livinginthepast replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Before you laugh off the suggestion about bringing Kelly here, consider what happened to Zay Jones in the offseason. Jones had a complete mental breakdown and wandered around nude spouting scripture. Somehow the guy is still here (and is still garbage). Kelly is way better than anyone who will potentially play on Monday and is now considered a pariah by the rest of the league. He's a local boy and with a hard dose of reality (maybe even from his uncle Jim) he might be redeemed. -
Where are this guys handlers? i.e. his agent?his girlfriend or his family? Even his older teammates? He is obviously impulsive and apparently enjoys getting blotto on occasion. Getting belligerent and fighting with people I can understand while drunk but it takes a special kind of physiology for someone to drink so much that instead of passing out they stay awake and continue barreling along, all the while they have lost all sense of bearing and inhibitions. I have a friend who got in this stage on a number of occasions when we were in our early 20s. It was for the most part amusing to see what he would do in this condition at a bar or at a house party but we would have to save him from fights, driving and especially wandering into other people's houses!! Chad Kelly needs a few people to protect him from himself!!

How and Why The Bills Could Win Monday Night
Livinginthepast replied to Kevin1778's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only possibility is if Brady gets injured then the Bills might win. However with the new soft NFL rules on hitting the QB this year, that becomes an even smaller possibility. They may not light things up like in the 2007 Pats but they will crush us because we cannot score points. -
How and Why The Bills Could Win Monday Night
Livinginthepast replied to Kevin1778's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What a game if you were a neutral fan. As a Bills fan it was a dagger to the heart. They found a way to lose a game that Dallas had handed to them on a plate!! -
If they tinkered and it backfired why weren't adjustments made on the fly in the 2nd Q? I know the offense put the D in a bad position on multiple occasions but the D looked really bad on plays that led to scores. There were a few 3rd down conversions and plays that just killed the Bills and McD and co had no answers. Bad coaching to tinker with what worked and even worse coaching to not adjust out of it!
-
He looked pretty good yesterday. Shoulder looked fine and most importantly his decision making looks much better. We should have made a move when the Colts were doubting him after the injury. I think he could have been swindled off them!

Amari Cooper Traded To Dallas
Livinginthepast replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No way would we have picked up Cooper, he's not from Carolina, he's not crap or washed up and never made the "All world Jesus" team. -
in the 16-0 Pats season, Bellichick would leave Brady and a lot of starters in games right until the end. He would also have them score TDs instead of FGS and go for 2. He did this against us in that night game at the Ralph where they destroyed us. It always annoyed me that the Pats tempted fate so much by doing that throughout that season but were never punished by bad luck and having a player injured for nothing or were ever the victims of some embarrassed opposing player trying to get even with a dirty hit. Leaving your starters in like last night for the Broncos is a little different but equally as risky. If any of their players blew out knee or broke a leg the coach would have been gone by this morning.

That's where the Illogic part comes in. I have no problem with Allen being picked or trading up to get him. I do have a problem with no vet mentor QB to teach him being on staff in the summer. AJ McCarron was never going to be that mentor. If you were going to start him and that was your plan ready or not then they should have protected him with at least some competent O line or given him some weapons to relieve the immense pressure on his shoulders. They failed to do that which makes no sense.
