  1. The most interesting part of this, and we may see similar, is that there is really no college football this year. We are running on 2019 tape for most of these guys. Depending on cost, there is more value to making a move like this than there is to going after guys in the draft. Curious what the cost is. It may even be worth while for Buffalo to jump a round or add the additional pick because it is in the division. Maybe not with Williams, but any other opportunities that might arise. Cheers!
  2. So just to clarify, this does become a bidding war if he wants it to? So NJ is on the hokk for $5.5 or 6M, whatever, regardless of the contract from the new team. The new team contract is all net new income for him? Am I reading this right?
  3. Somebody would need to offer him $12M for that to happen. NJ is on the hook for whatever it is short of $6M. I guess a team could offer $7M and he’d get some extra cash. Highly doubt it.
  4. If we line up Bell at the LOS, Diggs, Davis, Beasley, and Bell together should be enough to account for the loss of Brown.
  5. Yeldon got a good dose of snaps Tuesday. I thought he was decent in PP, and also provided the threat of a wheel route. He did have a big whiff on a LB who had a free run at Josh. Him and Knox I believe were lined up in the backfield. I think it was Yeldon that missed big time and took off into the flat.
  6. This is where I am at with it. I think Buffalo is a great fit. The rushing attack has been anemic. Yeldon, a similar but lesser skill set was able to find some holes. The offense as a unit is pretty quality and has been able to score points. He should get a lions share of the carries and have a bunch of production if he lines out wide. If he can turn our rushing attack around, his next contract should be another big one.
  7. I think he is just trying to increase his social media engagement. "what does bills mafia think about this?" The reason he says he never met him is because he brought up personality fit and is covering for himself, as NOT to imply that he wouldn't be a good fit.
  8. I hate the “what about the defense” responses. Who the hell is out there that we are just not signing? It’s not like we are grabbing Bell instead of signing a prolific pass rusher.
  9. If you IR Moss, there is no need to release Yeldon. I have always like him, I don't get why he doesn't get more snaps. He is a nice piece to have and the ability to be reasonably productive. We saw that Tuesday.
  10. This goes understated but it’s not just the DL. Hughes is aging, still a threat to be accounted for but he can’t do it alone. Addison is meh. DT- I’ve never been high on Harry. I don’t get the love he gets around here. Purely a rotational guy at this point. Oliver is a nice piece. People are expecting the great version of Dareus from him. You won’t get it. LB- Depth is terrible. Edmunds seems hesitant. Milano can’t stay healthy. CB- Tre. Then a mile back is everybody else, and they aren’t good. S- Very good pairing. They’re doing a lot to hold some semblance of this defense together. They aren’t old yet, but if we don’t address CB, LB, and DL quickly, they could also start to get picked on. In 3 drafts we have spent 3x 1sts, 1x 2nd, and 2x 3rds (Edmunds trade up) on the defense. Seems like we should be better. This off-seasons FA’s are a big whiff. There is a large talent void and if they don’t fix it quick like they did with WR we could be in trouble in 2021 and 2022.
  11. Ive actually thought about that the last few years, especially given all the “cap hell” narratives people pushed when this FO first came in. The team is pretty good, so I don’t complain much, and still won’t But they too have their fair share of bad contracts, and it’s stopped us to make decisions regarding guys like Philips and Shaq so we could pay Dawkins and Tre. Or make a decision between Edmunds and Milano down the line. But such is the NFL and every team goes through this every year.
  12. You mean Singletarys 2.3 YPC against the worst defensive YPC in the league is not starting caliber for your bell cow? Weird. To each his own I guess...
  13. I mean, if he can make our running game even mediocre and the price is right, why not? It’s not like if you do this you can’t upgrade DE. Also, it’s not like some great or even average pass rusher is out there just waiting for the right deal.
  14. Say this is true, just for the sake of it. Who is the odd man out? Jones or Yeldon. McBeane love their ST aces, but Yeldon was productive when Singletary was not.
  15. Sorry, was not clear enough. I posted elsewhere that Hughes may have lost a step, not crazy just not quite the same. Hughes is still a productive DE. But when I say he lost a step, I mean he can't be "the guy" anymore, not without some help in the interior, which he does not have. He isn't at a place where he is a situational guy like Lorax last year either. Hughes can still be VERY disruptive with some help at the DT position. Still a guy that very much needs to be accounted for. He is not good enough at the moment to be our only pass rush threat regularly.
  16. Can't quite put my finger on it, but Sal reminds me of Shuli on Howard Stern. Maybe it is that Sal seems to be the keeper for the WGR Wack Pack in Schopp and BD? Making a career out of being the smartest guy in a room full of dumb-dumbs?
  17. I agree he has been better this year in PP. He got a lot more snaps when Moss went down. Unsure where you are getting the snap count number for the Titans game. The only thing I could find that has been updated since last night is Buffalo Rumblings (so take that with a grain of salt) and has DS at 62% of snaps for the game. My original comment is a bit of recency bias since Singletary seemed rarely on the field the second half last night on top of Yeldon having a better game on the ground. To your point I think it was Yeldon who gave Tennessee a free run at Josh in the second half. I will have to go back and take a look at the game again to see if my feels actually equal reals.
  18. This isn't about W or L. It is the way we got the L. If it happens again against the Chiefs I will rework my 11 win prediction from last week. Trying not to be knee jerk about this game, even though it is hard. I would be surprised if this is a 7-8 win team still at the moment. Another terrible performance and I will probably re-adjust to 9 or 10. If we can play well against the Chiefs, win or lose, and get a W against the Jets and Pats, 11 wins is still on the table.
  19. Singletary is pretty terrible in pass protection. So you can kind of start there. If he is in the backfield he is probably running the ball. It is why he went entire drives without a touch. We were playing from behind and had to throw. He would have been a liability.
  20. I don't think so anymore. I think if he were still on IR/injured there would have to be an injury settlement. So he was eligible to come back week 5. I assume he was cleared to play then released. Could be wrong on this, I will let one of the gurus correct me on this.
  21. This is a team game, and fandom is no different. Normally we have watched the games outside with a group of the same6 or so friends on a projector. Being an unplanned Tuesday night with a chance of rain. I watched at home inside on the projector. We actually were going to watch the Miami game inside, but then the broadcast cut out so we ran a fire drill to get everything set up in the yard. And boom, comeback victory! I told them last night they are never ever allowed to make any other plans and I will cover the projector with tarps if need be moving forward. Sorry team!
  22. I have been critical of Josh. Last night was still much better than a lot of his other clunkers, but some of the same traits staring down receivers, pointing the ball on throws, late reads/throws behind. The floor is definitely raised. He did do a very good job in pocket presence last night. One thing I took away (In addition to the defense having major issues so far this season) is Josh is not good enough YET to make up for a mediocre receiving corp. Granted the run game is non-existent at the moment, but Diggs, Beasley, and a blossoming rookie are about what you can afford or maybe even a little better than what you get once you pay your QB. Nothing to worry about, but definitely something to watch when guys go down.
  23. That was a major turning point in the game and happened early. The INT was a bummer, but we answered back. Stopping them there and getting the ball back would have been huge. Sort of felt like that imaginary INT from the Rams game. It started a run that we never had an answer for.
