I remember right before the end of the game there was a close up of Kyle Williams face and his eyes looked like a man possessed. I could have sworn they were red lol. The crowd was going absolutely nuts and look on his face was so fierce. I knew right there that this dude was playing his heart out. A++ performance Kyle I think you might have wanted this win more than anybody else on that team.

The 'Second Coming' (of Jim Kelly)
Van_phelaN1 replied to The Senator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trent Edwards? Never heard of him. -
a bust after 9 weeks? It's a big leap for a guy like Spiller who could rely on his speed over anything else. He now has to learn how to pick his holes and then turn on the jets at the right time. He will get there. Even if he doesn't are you going to tell me that using him as a Reggie Bush style back wouldn't be effective? I expect a couple a coming out party for Spiller this weekend. I don't know why I guess I just feel one coming. I have been wrong before tho...

Vikings players "hate" their head coach

Merriman hurt during practice......
Van_phelaN1 replied to sven233's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, you're right. It is so much better when we just laugh at this team and always expect the absolute worst. I mean hell why even watch any games ever again? We all know the Bills will never be any good ever so we should all just watch paint dry and never have hope in the Bills again. If this franchise ever does turn around I wonder how many people like you will claim they "Always believed in the team." :wallbash: -
And he will says "Yes Jim Rome I think you should come out of the closet."

Schopp sticks his foot in his mouth yet again
Van_phelaN1 replied to The_Philster's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes, that is all fine and good to get on Stevie's case for firing back at this guy but what schopp did was ask a question about his rhythm with Ryan Fitzpatrick, NOT the teams performance as a whole. So, he took a quote out of context just to take a shot at the Bills. First off, YES the Bills ARE 0 and 8. That is plain to see. Everyone is taking shots at the team and that is fine. Why is it necessary to take Stevie's quote out of context to try and make him look delusional about his team's position just to try and be funny? I could make plenty of jokes about this team being bad that would be funnier than his comments and I wouldn't need to try and embarrass a player by twisting words to fit an agenda. It is a !@#$ing joke that some of these media members are even give the right to report anything. I get opinion pieces and news stories aren't the same thing but come on people where do you draw the line with quoting someone. What if I came to your house and asked you about the new paint job on your car and you said "It looks nice, I am glad the paint job came out really well." and then I decided I was going to write the story about your house's paint job using that quote and say something to effect of, "His house is made of bricks though right?" If a newspaper took something like that out of context that grossly in regards to a murder investigation it would be different I bet. Don't defend some jackass who wants to take cheap shots. it's quite possible to talk plenty of **** about the Bills and how bad they are without misleading people with bull ****. The team being win-less doesn't excuse his lack of professionalism. Nor does it excuse your defense of it. -
You covered the point I was going to make. I always knew that Fewell was a solid defensive coordinator. I never thought he was AMAZING but he did a good job with what he had and guys will play for him because he has some fire. With that said, I am not surprised that the Giants defense is doing great things. There was already some talent on that Giants defense it was just that their secondary was aging and it was exposed. Also take note that the Giants get amazing performance out of their front and get pressure on the QB. A secondary can only hold up so long in coverage before an opening is found. Look at the Cinci-Pitt game the other night. Even when the Bengals defense managed to keep the receivers in check through their routes, Rothlisberger was able to keep the play alive long enough for some ad lib to occur and the next thing you know somebody has found a little soft bubble in the defense. I was happy when DJ was fired and I though that Fewell deserved a fair shake at the job which we know he didn't really get but I am willing to be honest. I would have flipped OUT if he was given the job. I think it is still too early to tell if Fewell's new found success is the result of better talent or not.

Russ Brandon comments telling...
Van_phelaN1 replied to bigbillsfan12's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All I know is it just flat out sucks to see considerably more opposing fans in the stands of your favorite team's "home game" (not to mention the first "home" game after two tough road OT losses against good teams while still searching for that first win) all because it was a savvy and profitable business decision. But alas, it is a business and that is life. -
You had me until you said Young. I don't care what anyone says about him he is never going to be able to win consistently in the NFL. Flacco reminds me of Trent Edwards a little too much with his check down passes to Rice but at least he will take shots down field. I like where we are this season with Fitz and the only other QBs I would want to see playing this season are Brohm and Brown to evaluate their game time talent. I wouldn't want any other QB playing in the league right now unless they have already won a SB ring or were a proven winner (Rivers) I would rather take my chances with the draft.

A question for the more experienced(older) folks
Van_phelaN1 replied to Chandemonium's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with this evaluation of Fitz 100 percent. The guy is smart. I am absolutely sure that he knows what is going on and where he wants to go almost 99 percent of the time. His mechanics (coach-able) and his hurried throws because of constant pressure have more to do with his in-completions and INTs than anything else. IMO of course I guess you can draw that comparison but there is still time for a decent team to be built around Fitz where as poor Archie really never had that. -

Can Fitzpatrick Overcome His Choking?
Van_phelaN1 replied to NaPolian8693's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. He and the receivers are the only things that have been keeping us in these games the last few weeks. I would rather see Fitz throw a pic into coverage trying to squeeze through to try and win than watching the QB run out of bounds on 4th down. If Fitz was a more accurate passer he would be the complete package franchise QB. Fact is he is not that guy, at least not yet. I am not going to rule anything out just yet. -

Overreactioooon MAAAAAAN! Overreacts as-fast-as-he-can he's Overreactiooon MAAAAAN! -
Yup. That is the best part! A national television audience gets to witness them getting embarrassed 3 more times. Or (even more embarrassing for Jerry Jones) the Cowboys might actually get PULLED from a prime time slot in favor of a game that would actually be competitive and draw viewers. Then again even when they suck they are still the most "popular" team so the ratings are probably decent.

Bills/Toronto headed for a season split!?
Van_phelaN1 replied to BillsDiehard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
None of this matters anyway because I am buying the team with my billions and relocating them here in Albany so I don't have to drive 4 hours every time I want to see them play. "The Buffalo Bills of Albany." Man wouldn't that be a travesty? -
SI's Jeff Pearlman should be ashamed.
Van_phelaN1 replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah well I live in Albany where it is only slightly less cold and we aren't even important enough to get laughed at. Don't worry Buffalo, San Diego means "A Whale's Vagina." So you have that going for you. -

As an amateur writer (its a hobby, i am not one of those people who sit in starbucks with their laptop) and someone who partakes in some of the greener things in life I can tell you that it does NOT help with writing. At least not for me. I don't consider the inability to remember what i just wanted to write down a second ago as a "performance enhancement." Comedians on the other hand...

With an 0-7 record thank God it's hockey season!
Van_phelaN1 replied to seq004's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Say what you want about any of it, but Miller is a superstar IMO. Just for the record, i don't follow hockey so much except for the Devils and that is only because their farm team is here in Albany again. So I really don't know what i am talking about most of the time when it comes to hockey. -
