  1. I am getting really tired of seeing these...I think I am going to go start a Trent Edwards thread instead of reading this...
  2. IMO I don't think any of those guys wanted to win bad enough. Kelly was a gamer, he was super competitive, Flutie (although had his issues as well) always played with a chip on his shoulder, like he had something to prove. I feel like Trent Edwards was just happy to be in the position to be playing and played not to lose his job. It is too bad that a guy like Tim Tebow can have all the fire and leadership potential only to be hampered by his talent level. You just flat out can not coach the "it" factor. Either you leave your heart on the field or you are just there for a paycheck. Trent is a really nice guy, and he has been released. Tom Brady comes off as an arrogant piece of trash, but he has super bowl rings. Draw your own conclusions.
  3. Oh and here we go! If it was based on salary, wouldn't Fitz have been the one starting? I thought he had the highest contract, unless I was dreaming when I heard that mentioned.
  4. Yeah they are clowns because they wanted to evaluate him on their own, in THEIR system under live action. He looked good in preseason. There is a good reason why you do not work or coach for a professional football team and they do. They made the right decision to bench and then release him. To be honest you sound like you don't know what you are talking about.
  5. I don't think for a second that Michael Vick should be the answer in Buffalo at ALL. I WILL however admit that if he had been the QB for this team we could have pulled off a 2-1. There is no question the guys is more talented then what is on our roster.
  6. I agree. Chan (if nothing else) is making adjustments and finding ways to get his team headed in the right direction. Why not give Trent the first two games to see what happens. He is the same guy so he is done. Chan wanted to really evaluate his qb situation and now he is getting the actual oppurtunity to do so. Trent showed that when the live bullets are flying, he can't perform. Fitz has shown that he is a gamer and isn't afraid to test a defense but that ultimately lead to the Bills defeat on Sunday. I too think that before long we are going to see Brian Brohm take over and see what he is able to accomplish with this team in a real game. Although if Fitz can string together some wins he might stay in there for the duration. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out. I think this is the first time I have been optimistic about this team when they are 0 - 3 lol. Good coaching decisions and progress make me happy. Now the progress and good decisions just need to continue. Sorry Trent, wish you the best. Maybe you could go battle Losman for his gig in the UFL
  7. No college team could ever beat a professional team. They would be manhandled all over the field. Don't be an idiot just in an attempt to be funny. You are better than that.
  8. I want to see our team play a respectable game that doesn't make me want to drown things...
  9. I think he knew that as he did it.
  10. You are critiquing a poem about a football team and you are actually going to tear the guy apart for his rhyme scheme?? I hope there is humor intended somewhere that I am not picking up on through the evil interwebs
  11. I don't see what wins and losses over the last few years means when it comes down to this decision. It isn't like Fitz is going to make a huge difference. It will be nice to see the ball getting thrown around more (and further) and if we all of the sudden win every game on the sched I will happily admit I was wrong. I just don't think I will have to. Stay tuned for threads about what QB to draft next year...again...
  12. we have been playing musical quarterback for almost 15 years now. I don't see how we kept the wrong guy when there hasn't been a "right" guy either. Just sayin.
  13. So Lynch has somebody to hang out with. Bazinga!
  14. I was a big Trent supporter in the beginning and this made me lol so hard my boss came over.
  15. Good work hunting down those stats!! I will gladly admit that I was all over the Trent Edwards bandwagon a few years ago. Sadly, the numbers just do not lie. He doesn't take chances, certainly not enough to win against a good team. I hoped that a new coach with a play to win attitude could fix that. With only one game in this season I am still waiting to see. If Trent does more of the same I don't see Chan letting him stay in forever. Like I have said before, this roster is going to be bleeding people out the next few years and I have a feeling Edwards is going to end up one of them before too long.
  16. I have read through a lot of this post and I have to say, you are a little too quick to bash fellow fans about their opinions based on some posts that you have read. What makes your decisions correct? If we want to improve, this whole team needs to get better. Sam Bradford isn't guaranteed to be an elite QB in this league. I am not saying you are wrong. I agree there could have been more done to address the issues facing this team but I think Chan wants to start all over from scratch. In a few years I will be surprised if more than 25 percent of this roster is the same. It is okay to get fed up, but what were you expecting would happen?
  17. Because even if the talent comes to Buffalo, it has no interest in staying. It is the same reason Lebron left for Miami. Money - nice weather - chance at a championship. Anyone coming to Buffalo has no shot at those things except for money in the near future and let's be honest, you can get paid anywhere.
  18. You're totally right!!! Throw Jay Cutler on this team and we have the superbowl won because Trent is the only thing wrong with this team!!!! Please guy have some intelligence before ranting. You are stating the obvious about a QB. We know he's not all the great. Do you suggest we start Fitz all year? Or maybe we should start Brohm who earned himself a #3 spot. I hope you can see the sarcasm dripping from my words
  19. Well from that point of view I can totally see where you are coming from. The on field product did look awfully familiar. I agree that there were way to many people who were ready to crown Chan and company as soon as they showed up. I will agree with you on that. I am encouraged but by no means do I think Gailey can save this franchise until they prove it. I see what you mean.
  20. I respect them because they are professionals who are here to do a job. To rip him apart after one game with all the leftover pieces of the old regime is just dumb. Do I think he has done anything substantial? NO but I wasn't expecting a ton out of this squad to begin with. Give them a chance to prove they are moving this ball club in the right direction at least.
  21. You can't blame Chan or Trent or any one person for any loss. People forget this is a team effort. Of course the ONE time Edwards lets a bomb go deep, Evans gets MUGGED and no flag. Still, Trent did regress on Sunday. Still, I am not going to sit here and pick apart Trent's performance because it is just the same old song and dance. He is who we thought he was. If Chan wants to get some effective use out of Trent he is going to have to establish the run with the monsters we have in the backfield. Let Lynch get in there and pound away at the defensive line on a few plays. It's true that the Oline doesn't look to be able to open up much for them but Lynch is a hard runner (as is Freddie) and with CJ and a change of pace. The PA pass is going to be Trent's best friend this season. I understand what Gailey was trying to do by coming out in shotgun. The Dolphins were coming out to shut the run down and Chan wanted to throw over the inside pressure to open up the defense. The problem is, that is not who Trent is. If he wasnts to throw Fitz out there and do that stuff that is one thing. I am not saying that Fitz is going to have "better" results but I think you know what i mean. Like some others have mentioned before, I would have tried some play action to open up the defense myself. Then again what better game than the first of the season for Chan to throw Edwards out there in a hot situation and put the offense on his shoulders. Maybe he wanted to see if Trent has the ability to handle that and take command. If that was the plan I don't think it went well. Still I want to see what happens in a few more weeks. I can already tell that the coaches are heads and shoulders above the DJ era because they are exploiting their own players weaknesses early. That may sound odd to you but what better way to FIX a problem with a team then to expose what is truly wrong with it in live action? I feel next week we will see a much better game plan suited to our strengths. We know what we "can't" do, so now let's try what we "can" do. Just relax guys it is a rebuilding process and a lot of this roster is going to be changing over the next few years. The man has to know who he wants to keep around for the future and where he needs to build from in the draft next year. Then again what the hell do i know?
  22. I sure hope so, I was a homer and drafted Lee to my fantasy team lol.
  23. He did get a little lucky on the catch itself but he had the defender beat so he definitely gave effort. However there were some other plays throughout the game where he dropped passes and stuff. It almost looked more mental (realizing he has limited opportunities to make an impression on the coaches) but I'm no expert. Could be he just doesn't have the talent they thought he did.
