  1. I think it is a combination of that and Steve Johnson. I don't know how many times Fitz has said how great Johnson is at getting separation and Johnson keeps singing the praises of Fitz. I think these two in particular have made a connection and their success obviously opened up some things for Lee Evans. I always had a good feeling about Stevie but I never would have seen him explode on the field like that so suddenly. Who knows what happens if Fitz gets the start from Day 1. All I know is that Cornell Green just watched his job get taken away on Sunday.
  2. Okay, FIRST let me say that I was a supporter of Trent Edwards when he first came along here and Buffalo and probably defended him way longer than I should have. ALSO I have been known to say that Fitz doesn't have the same upside as a guy like Brohm does. Now that we have that out of the way. I was downright blown away with Fitzy yesterday. I don't know when the last time I saw someone command our offense the way he did. I admire his gunslinger attitude and his willingness to do whatever it takes to win. Did he win? No, and he also threw some very bad pics. However if you look at it the other way, that pass to Lee Evans was a VERY ill advised throw. I think Chan is starting to like the guy a lot. I guess my question is, if he can continue to perform like this (as well as the receivers) what shot do you give Fitzpatrick of convincing Chan he is the guy of the future? All I can say is I will never have to worry about calling him Captain Checkdown.
  3. Respect on being a man about it and admitting that you were mistaken. I made a comment to the effect of the offense being "as good as it is going to get" this season but then Fitzy decided he wanted to throw for the first 300+ passing game for the Bills in 59 games. I am humbled as well. To be honest with you, in year 1 for a rebuilding franchise, it sure is great to see production like that and I don't know if Fitz has it in him to do that on a regular basis but here's hoping lol.
  4. I agree with Spiller but he is young. He thinks that relying on his speed and elusiveness will allow him to bounce outside a break away with one but the speed of the nfl and the discipline of these defenses on taking angles there is no way he can do it like that. I know EXACTLY which play you are talking about. He went right in to the pile of lineman and then i remember watching the replay and seeing the hole and said "wow what a huge hole he missed." He was probably trying to rush straight forward (probably had a talking to from the coaches) and just didn't see it. He will put it together over time. He is the sports car in our garage. Freddy is the late 70's muscle car. Reliable and powerful. Eventually I feel Spiller is going to be a superstar. Right now he is more of a liability. High risk high reward I suppose. Don't worry CJ, as long as you don't run over old ladies and steal 20 dollars from me I will be more than patient with you
  5. After a couple of plays where Stevie snagged a bullet (and one in particular where roscoe caught one that was going so fast it almost dragged him out of bounds before he could get his feet down lol) the play of the receivers almost made me forget about "needing a franchise quarterback." There were a few pics too but was anybody else also VERY impressed with Fittzy's play?
  6. I have some old tapes of me as a kid playing automatic quarterback at the park where i just literally shredded kids all day. Where do I sign up for try outs?
  7. If we can stay within 8 points of the Pats and 5 of the Fins (with TE and NO offense) then I am sure at some point this season (against the Browns i would think at this point) a few lucky things will go our way and we will get a win. Even a broken clock is right twice a day right?
  8. Yes they are going to be bad during this process but i can understand some of your frustrations when you see a guy like Kelsey trying to cover ANYONE. Like the other posts have said, that isn't his fault, I am sure he would rather be rushing the QB. I have been telling people from day one this is a rebuilding year but at the same time I was there at the Fins game hoping against hope that Gailey would catch lightning in a bottle and somehow magically fixed Trent Edwards and that the three headed monster of our backfield was going to be a nightmare for opposing defenses. Deep down you know the truth, you just wanted to be optimistic during the only time of the season when you can be as a Bills fan lately. We are all a bit delusional from time to time. It's only human.
  9. I think you just DID!!
  10. Oh yeah I would defiantly prefer to be 7-9 every year and look competitive rather than rebuild from scratch, have a few ugly seasons and maybe have a shot at something more down the road. Don't give me this "They don't want to win, Ralph just wants money in his pocket" nonsense either. Those are the real killers on this board. Newsflash guys, if you think that is what is going on here and you are getting ripped off by going to the games and buying the merch every year then why the hell would you still follow the team? Just to be a pessimistic douche? If this coaching staff hasn't made any improvements in 3 years then you can start swinging at them all you want and I will be right there with you. OMG THEY DIDNT DRAFT THE GUY I SAID THEY SHOULD and OMG THEY DIDNT SIGN THIS PERSON WHO I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE. Just stop already. It is a broken record, we have heard it before and it accomplishes nothing. First: Just because a team has to rebuild doesn't mean they are guaranteed a championship. Are you going to tell me that Kelly didn't play on championship caliber teams? He isn't counting any rings. Nobody is suggesting we lose every game. Try using your brain before you start talking, I promise you will sound smarter. Second: When you point out your sarcasm, it defeats the point of using it in the first place. Just sayin.
  11. There was probably a stupid little story here or there that we didn't pick up on but I still feel like the Bills are getting ripped way worse than the other bad teams in the league in general.
  12. It looks like Magic Johnson has no worries what so ever about living a long healthy life if he is going to invest in a football team.
  13. The Patriots also happened to win the Superbowl a few months after 9/11... So what you're saying is the 9/11 Conspiracy was masterminded by Bill Bellicheck to boost patriotism and get people to support a team like "The Patriots" and then was helped by the NFL to obtain defensive calls from the other teams. Then as our heroes (the Bills) lay dormant for a decade America crumbles and The Patriots and Bill Bellicheck are chillin', living the good life at the side of the Freemasons? Somebody call Nicholas Cage and the Disney Company. I smell a National Treasure sequel. National Treasure : Tom Brady is a Terrorist I think next I will call up Michael Bay and we can make a movie about Trent Edwards and Jay Cutler getting sacked all the time. Just add the explosions.
  14. Oh no, don't get me wrong I am all for the fun around here and is one of the reasons I love this board. I have laughed at the jokes made at Maybin's expense a few times. Yeah sometimes I forget when i was 12 I thought I knew everything too lol. Turns out I was wrong kids. Take note
  15. First let me say that I may only have recently joined the forum and started posting but I have been coming here to get my inside perspective on the Bills for years. It is my favorite website to waste time on at work I think the issue is that there is a difference between venting frustrations and spewing adolescent nonsense that you know isn't true. Are you going to tell me that Buddy has "no idea what he is doing" but has managed to be working in the league for this long? He obviously knows enough to keep himself employed. I will say this much though. I am SURE he drafted the players that he thought would best help this team in the long term rebuilding process. He did not appear to pay the expected amount of attention to the glaring needs the team has. However I have faith he did what he did for good reason. It's not like there isn't going to be talent in this draft or the next one. Not to mention that if they do manage to build a dominant offensive line and get a elite QB here, can you imagine how great that Spiller pick will look when he is running against a defense that isn't meeting him in the backfield? It takes time and we are all frustrated but there are more intelligent ways to vent your frustrations than what some people here do. Except when it is drenched with sarcasm. If it is funny enough i will usually let it slide
  16. So with the news about the 3-4 going to a 4-3 and then back again and everything else (horrible sentence) what do you guys think, if anything the defense might get accomplished? I assume that this change is intended to better stop the run (or just stop it period) but as usual the LB corps looks like it is just waiting to get eaten alive. The offense looks about as good as i think it is going to this season unless our new RT is a sudden diamond in the rough and Nelson explodes all over field. I think it should be interesting to watch what happens even if it awful. What do you guys think?
  17. No way, but we should have grabbed Tebow when he fell to the second round
  18. Because his performance has dropped off sense he was caught juicing and it has already been stated that this team is going to attempt to build through the draft. I mean the hell with it, we should have grabbed Vincent Jackson! I hear Mike Vick is unhappy in Philly! Don't people get tired of grabbing a name they know and thinking the Bills should make a play for them. Rebuilding does not mean bring in a bunch of FA veterans.
  19. Who would you line up at the linebacker position right now? If I have said it once I have said it a million times, this roster is going to be so much different in a few years that sitting here and debating who is playing where right now is pointless. For all you know, Kelsey is going back to DE but (as sad as this seems) he is the best available player to fill that LB role for the short term while Chan see's what happens when he mixes it up with the front 4. I am not saying that is the case or that it is even close to a great idea but the bottom line is that nobody knows exactly what the coaches are looking for except for the coaches. The end result of any of this is still years away anyway. THEN in 3 years or so you can say "they are all idiots and should be fired."
  20. Did you ever notice that Joe Flacco and Trent Edwards are never in the same place at the same time? I smell a secret identity.
  21. You clearly know way more than Buddy Nix. I am writing Ralph a letter. Ralphie, I hope this letter finds you well and in good health. I see that your wallet is nice and fat. So listen this guy on TBD thinks that Nix has no idea what he is doing after one draft and five games with a team consisting of a bunch of DJ leftovers. This person who posts on an internet message board clearly knows what he is talking about. I would officially like to recommend him for every football decision making job within the organization. He is clearly a genius and you are all clearly stupid. If you listened to more posters to make your decisions WE could have been telling Jimmy Clausen to take a seat on the bench. Sincerely, Van P.S. Please for the love of god do away with those terrible uniforms. People have enough reasons to laugh at you and Donte Witner.
  22. Wow what a waste of time. It is about Joe Flaco. I guess coaches are figuring out that he is slow in his progressions. Coaches are worried he has "hit a wall" in his development. The word is if the first option isn't their, he bails to ray rice. this is from a supposed GREAT source. I guess they found out that Joe and Trent were practicing together
  23. I saw this just in time, i am listening now but i havent heard him say anything interested just yet ( i stream the radio online at work and they dont care so i am lucky ) i will keep you posted. If it is anything good I am sure he won't mention it until before the next break)
