  1. If anything I find that the rowdiness has progressively gotten under better control. When I first started going to games there were endless fights in the stands. I haven't seen one of those in awhile. Sooner or later the crowds will sort themselves out. The hardcore boozers (of which I was one) will congregate offsite and the family values crowd will go to a security controlled area. I don't trivialize the fact that people have died at our games https://www.orchardparkbee.com/news/2012-11-22/Front_Page/Man_26_drowns_after_ejection_from_Bills_game.html If the crackdown is too hard, we'll lose something very special. Some of my fondest memories are at the Ralph
  2. We play as many as 8 games a year in cold weather. Allen's arm strength is an important factor in this. Rosen and Mayfield made a lot of their completion rates off dink and dunk. Ironically Allen will have to do more dink and dunk to raise his completion rate.
  3. Zay would have a better chance of getting open if he ran the route naked and screaming
  4. instead of taking snaps why don't you practice signing my autograph on that box of memorabilia?
  5. working for nothing is bad enough but this is uber creepy. The NFL's attempt to cover it's ass and claim ignorance is equally deplorable. I think cheerleading is an essential part of football culture and should be treated as dignified work. I miss the Jills. They were great ambassadors
  6. articles like these, while well written, presume that Allen will not work to improve his game. If the support system is put in place and he commits himself we may have a Pro Bowler.
  7. best reach since Aaron Maybin I would have bought dozens of those hats
  8. if he tangled with McDermott he's double stupid
  9. as a union steward I have represented both men and women accused of such transgressions. I can tell that there is nothing in the world of romance or sex that can compensate you sufficiently for the hell your life will become
  10. I was very surprised that Brandon has lasted this long into the Pegula era. Usually an ownership and regime change means a total housecleaning. While Brandon likely had a very good severance package and was apparently found guilty of serious misconduct, I still find it sad when people get fired, even deservedly. Sexual harrassment is a serious issue which left unaddressed can destroy people and organizations. If Brandon is just getting his comeuppance now one wonders just what the culture at OBD was truly like. I guess our franchise was living in darkness on and off the field. Having a consensual affair is one thing, but ritual harrassment of subordinates is serious wrongdoing that cannot go unpunished. He must have been a pretty good BS artist to have cajoled this much power out of Ralph. The lack of thanks for his service in the Pegs PSA speaks volumes.
  11. it is worth noting that AJ's experience edge on Allen is only 5 games
  12. guys as dumb as Iron Mike are once in a generation
  13. don't tell me you're throwing in the towel!
  14. You're right about rotoworld trashing us http://www.rotoworld.com/articles/nfl/79600/174/2018-afc-draft-grades I think we need to keep a list of all these prognosticators and their twitter accounts when Allen blows up the scoreboard
  15. The only outlet I have heard trash the Allen pick is the Sporting news (near bottom) http://www.sportingnews.com/ca/nfl/news/nfl-draft-2018-grades-winners-losers-best-worst-broncos-bills-seahawks/1dkbptsgr3h911bp55d3m1cecw I think we should "pay a visit" to Vinnie Iyers 'twitter account when Allen lights it up. are there other writers trashing the pick?
  16. it's clear that Wyoming has no business being on the same field as division 1 talent. His stats suffered because his life was in danger on half those plays. I notice he throws much better to his right that to his left. He can really make things happen on broken plays. That 4th and 12 play vs Nebraska before the first half was epic
  17. by serious he means stupid as in Mike Ditka's handling of Ricky Williams
  18. I too initially wanted someone other than Allen. The other prospects are much more polished and came from established football factories. There is a lot riding on this pick. It will define the Beane/McDermott era. After suffering through the decade of fail, EJ and the drought I don't blame fans for wanting the perceived security of what Mayfield, Rosen and Darnold represent. I was not happy when I read the pick. I have sinced listened to Beane's post draft interview and gone back through clips of Allen. There are things that Allen can do that none of the other three would even attempt. There is ability and athleticism that Allen has that the other three can never approach. Mayfield's inner drive imperssed me the most but Allen too has had adversity to overcome and looks every part the character guy. He is a cold weather QB whose arm strength dwarfs the other prospects. This will matter in late season home games. He is also the most effective runner of the three. All the draftnicks concede that you can't draft solely on production, you have to have an eye to the prospects potential. Allen has the greatest potential any QB in this class with the possible exception of Lamar Jackson. These are young men who have not fully physically matured. Beane's interview convinced me that the Bills stuck to their plan and their spending limit in picks to trade up for Allen. I came away feeling like they made the best decision for the franchise and their own careers.
  19. Listening to Beane's interview on NFLN after the Allen pick he stated plainly that Allen was one of the QBs they would gladly have selected but not the only one. He said they tried deals with NYG and Cleveland and the price was higher than what they were willing to pay, namely any of their 2019 picks. They confronted Allen about the tweets and were satisfied with his response. They researched this pick thoroughly and got their preference of Allen over Rosen. I was impressed by the fact that he had set a floor and a ceiling on what he was willing to pay to move up. I am glad we didn't include any 2019 picks to get Allen. So yes they got their guy but he wasn't necessarily the only guy.
  20. I see AJ as our Brad Johnson. He will be very motivated to play himself into a starting job even if it's somewhere else. Hopefully I'll get to meet his wife one day
  21. Oh I get it. The 0 - 16 Browns are smarter than the wildcard Bills. You mean those same Browns who passed on Chubb and Barley? Thanks for the update. I think our front office is sophisticated enough to know that everyone is a liar at this time of year.
  22. After the drought and decade of fail we were all seeking a feeling of certainty with a QB pick this high. The other top prospects came from football factories and competed against division 1 talent. I too was disappointed when I heard Allen's name called. Rosen, Mayfield and Darnold all look like more finished products. They also look like their best football might be in their past, not their future. Not so with Allen. You can see the talent, desire and football IQ in his clips. It's raw and unrefined but its there. He's also the most mobile of the top 4. Our front office has not suffered through our nearly twenty years of failure. They are not playing it safe. They are going for greatness with the Allen pick and the chance for greatness is there. They aren't beaten down like we are in our masochistic fandom of this team. I share all the same reservations about accuracy and the technical parts of the game but I also see the seeds of greatness. The other prospects look more like technicians in comparison. I listened to Beane's interview after the pick and came away greatly impressed. He is not hanging his career on playing it safe. He's going for all the marbles and that's a journey I am going to follow him on. This from a guy who wanted Lamar Jackson.
