  1. Play the damn game and win. It's football and you don't flip a switch with a pro athelete to "don't try." Don't assume all the other teams we are in a so-called competition for a top three pick are going to tank either. At bottom, the notion of play to lose is ridiculous as is this thread.
  2. Anyone getting starter's jack and gets beat out by Tebow is not someone I'd make a run at. Draft a QB and groom him behind Fitzy.
  3. I like our draft and undrafted rooks this year. Batten, Moats, Coleman, Carrington, Troup, Easley, Spiller, Nelson, Roosevelt, Jones, Wang and Howard have great upside as starters or good depth. Buddy's waiver wire picks have promise. I would have like to have seen Spiller explode as the top pick but his talent is obvious. I agree we need more production and some solid acquisitions on D next year (especially at LB) either from the draft or FA. We need a RT and a TE as well. But no one bats 1,000 and it's going to take a few years to stock a talent-barron team with good players. As critical as we can be, I don't have the time and desire to maintain a negative burn about our picks. We've made headway this year after a decade of aimless drifting. This thread began with some props to Buddy and I second the notion. Okay, have at it TSW corrosives.....
  4. Boo Radley?
  5. I imagine it with Howard Cossell making the call... "down goes Brady...down goes Brady...down goes Brady..." Don't cross the Moats!
  6. I'm swilling some Ny-Quil as I type this. Either you are Steve Largent or full of sh*t. That said, thanks for getting spell check for this post.
  7. This sums it up nicely. Chan is the right man at the right time. We're 4 & 10 and I'm strangely confident in Chan. Go Bills!
  8. Moats knocks smarmy Brady out of the game... maybe for the rest of the season and Bellicheat watches a 13-3 season go for naught.
  9. Who's playing better? You can count them on one hand and have fingers to spare.
  10. You hit it right in the head! Put Fitzy out in the open market now and see what he's worth. He's playing at a high level right now and appears to be fearless, decisive and best of all, productive. Short of Brady and Manning, who's playing better now? And how would those two be doing w/o a running game, TE and an ever changing OL?
  11. I remember that post because I watched him in TC and in that brutal Redskin PS game. He looked then like Kelsay does now in coverage. Since the move to OLB he's shutting everybody up and I'm happy to be shut up. Go Moats!
  12. So why are you hating on the Irish? And you can vouch that Newton's gonna save the Bills? He looks to be a Maybin who can pass. It takes more than physical tools to be a NFL'er.
  13. I'm with you brother. Great post from a great fan!
  14. I really believe, in my heart, you're 8 to 10 cards away from a full deck, 12 to 15 years from a GED and 20 to 30 points from a 70 IQ, and good luck on ever being taken seriously on TSW again.
  15. Man I agree. I see some usually solid posters on TSW repeatedly say move him to RT. That just shows a lack of understanding the differences in the two positions. You nailed it so I won't repeat it but I wish others would start looking at other teams an see the difference in the style of play, how much space each plays in and how the TE and other OL positions work with both. It's two different positions, each with a set of requirements that are not always interchangeable.
  16. Well the injured guys coming back should make for an interesting TC. Batten, Coleman, Davis, Torbor, Meriweather for LBs and Edwards on the DL. Draft is the most important tool but I'd be surprised if they didn't make a run at some top FA's......providing there football next year at all.
  17. Usually I think Sully is more of an a**hole than a real sports writer but I get the thinking behind the column. I don't agree with it but it's a legit position. Let's see how it goes. It's way early. I think Spiller will be a great back. Worth a #9? We'll see.
  18. Following the OP's well thought out plan we'd have burned a #1 on Clausen, McCoy or Tebow. No offense but I'll get behind Buddy's plan.
  19. I didn't see a lot of swagger last night. They were pathetic.
  20. Coming off a major knee injury last year D. Bell has been solid. He's quick and moves well. Sonetimes he looks all pro leading a run block then other plays he looks pretty average. He's healing, learning and improving. He had a long day against Allen but who hasn't? It's way too early to say he's not the guy. I don't get the posters who blithely say move him to RT. He's not a power guy like an RT. He's a natural LT that I think will be damn good. See how long he'd last on the FA market.
  21. There's something to the notion that physically inferior players get injured more frequently. Our OL was awful last year and the most injured. Now our feeble LB Corp is decimated along with another rash of injuries to the OL. It's time to really concentrate on the trenches and LB's in the draft & FA. QB can wait.
