Here's my problem. Neither Poz or Donte is great, they are both average. But how many fricken holes can we patch in a year? So we keep KW, Merriman, Carrington, Troup, Moats, Byrd, Florence and Dwan and let everyone else go? We need help at DE, NT, OLB, ILB. If we had a hint of a rush, the DB's would look better automatically.

Ummm, by any measure anywhere and all due excuses aside....Brohm was horrible. We still gotta run the rock dammit. Front seven is #1 but you have to find at least a RT who can run block.

I agree with you about our utter lack of talent defensively. But today, the 16th game of our season, I saw more players out of place than I could believe. Saftey's in the wrong place, wrong alignments...I just can't help but feel coaching does play a role here. While we need players, I would feel better with a proven 3-4 DC running the show.

Troup and Carrington will be starters next year. Wirh a season under their belts they will be better and sfronger. We have a lot of holes...why replicate what we did last year.

You're dead nuts on this. With a $4 mil cap hit, what's the point of cutting Lee? He'll rebound and gives us speed. Lee, Stevie, Roscoe, Nelson and with Easley coming back well....why mess with that?

Last year I'd say why not? This offseason, we have some really promising receivers and I think Evans can rebound. I say let's invest all of our bucks on defense and get a great TE & RT.

Play the damn game and win. It's football and you don't flip a switch with a pro athelete to "don't try." Don't assume all the other teams we are in a so-called competition for a top three pick are going to tank either. At bottom, the notion of play to lose is ridiculous as is this thread.

Anyone getting starter's jack and gets beat out by Tebow is not someone I'd make a run at. Draft a QB and groom him behind Fitzy.

I like our draft and undrafted rooks this year. Batten, Moats, Coleman, Carrington, Troup, Easley, Spiller, Nelson, Roosevelt, Jones, Wang and Howard have great upside as starters or good depth. Buddy's waiver wire picks have promise. I would have like to have seen Spiller explode as the top pick but his talent is obvious. I agree we need more production and some solid acquisitions on D next year (especially at LB) either from the draft or FA. We need a RT and a TE as well. But no one bats 1,000 and it's going to take a few years to stock a talent-barron team with good players. As critical as we can be, I don't have the time and desire to maintain a negative burn about our picks. We've made headway this year after a decade of aimless drifting. This thread began with some props to Buddy and I second the notion. Okay, have at it TSW corrosives.....
