This nails it. He's not a football player, he's a physical speciman, but not a baller. Wish it were otherwise. Maybe Jauron will want him.....

The only big name FA I'd love the Bills to chase is David Harris. He'd be a monster addition. Mid range pick ups after that are fine as we are building via draft.

Good article by Gaughn on Buddy Nix Today
Green Lightning replied to bananathumb's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know about you guys but I loved the way Buddy just lays it out there. Wood to Center. Stick with Bell. Get bigger at LB and pick an impact guy BPA at #3. He just puts it out there and I find it damn comforting and refreshing. Loved when Mark asked where Wood playing center puts Hanny. "We play the best guys.." Gotta love the guy. I am a bit concerned about RT. I agree that his PS and FA pick ups of Wrotto, Pears, Reinhart and Urbik were excellent and at the very least will give us good depth. I don't know if they will be the answer at guard with Wood moving and RT.....I'd fee better with a FA or solid pick in the draft. -
I don't see that happening at all. We burned high picks on Troup and Carrington. Troup will play NT, KW at DE and Darius as a 5 technique with Carrington in for plenty of snaps and in a four man front. The FA focus will and should be on LB's. Soliai is a luxury. Get me David Harris instead.

Bills lack of talent evident

If Poz is one of our top five players we are in deep sh*t. -
FA attempts to fix problems at OLB and RT
Green Lightning replied to LabattBlue's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was just about ready to congratulate the thread for no one saying "hey, let's move Bell to RT!" but no, you had to go and do it. What part about the difference between LT and RT don't you get? Bell is not now, or weil ever be a RT! They are two eff'ing different positions that require different skill sets. Jesus watch some football before saying crap like that. -
Is this Dick Jauron?

My off-season strategy, yours?

Im with Bangarang. How many undersized but fast tweeners do we want on our LB corps? The guy's the size of Keith Ellison...move on. -

Rather have Harris than Mankins. Go at him hard. -
To me Coach Lovie Smith showed a lot of class.
Green Lightning replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lovie's complete mishandling of the 4th down play was Pop Warner class. Raw QB with a 4th down and clock running and he sits on a TO instead of using it to calm the kid and team down. As for Cutler, if your going to stand and watch with a sprained MCL, hobble over and help your QB and cheer the team on. Cutler's a punk. -
He threw a TD Moulds.

Stupid draft experts...the last thing we need is another tweener with a great first step...... Pick Dareus and get a stud 5 technique DLman and let's start pounding on some OL's. Dareus, Troup, KW in a 3-4 with Edwards and Carrington in rotation or in a hybrid 4-3 is a nice place to build from. Then let's talk LB's.

Why? This guy's a great defensive coach and at last check, our D blows. This is a good thing.

Dick Jauron to be DC for Cleveland Browns
Green Lightning replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
True, but it's year one of a scheme change. We didn't have the right talent but at least we didn't get pushed around like boys playing men like Jauron's D did every 4th quarter. I hated that small fast crap and if you are waxing nostalgic you should be loving Cleveland this year. -
Hey, the OP did some solid work here and I for one don't buy into the "no decent FA will come here" arguement. It is likely KC would never let Hali get away but stranger things have happened. I do agree with the basic premise of the OP's thinking. Go big on DL with the number one pick but concentrate on the LB's after that. Our DL with (Fairley - Darius - Bowers) Troup, Carrington, KW, Edwards and some key back ups should develop nicely. Brady won't be frightened at first but as they develop, watch out. Our LB's are awful and that's where we need to shop and draft well.

Dick Jauron to be DC for Cleveland Browns
Green Lightning replied to BeastMode54's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I can't figure it. Is he going to flip to a 4-3 tampon-two with little guys getting their butts pushed all over the field by the Steelers and Ravens? Maybe he can take Kelsay, Poz and Leodis with him. What part of "suck" don't the Browns get? -
It would be fun to hear your take on "Bills sign Tom Brady" I imagine that would really show how low and stupid the FA is.....Christ, get a grip!

Tommy Boy to Have Foot Surgury

I'm sure this will start with the apologists for his Trent-like performance versus the Jets. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ap-patriots-bradysurgery -

Gailey's thoughts on the remaining QBs
Green Lightning replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought exactly the same thing. Let's hope he goes hard to the D this draft and get some playmakers in here. We can't keep puking up 200 yards a game on the ground! -
For all Nick Fairley fans
Green Lightning replied to Solomon Grundy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was joking. Besides it doesn't take a brain surgeon to see who's left standing now...four cold weather teams. How many warm weather teams have won the SB in the last ten years? Depending on what you think cold is, six or seven of the ten were cold weather places. (Tampa, New Orleans and Baltimore count as warm...up to you to rate Indy. It gets plenty cold there as well) So if he he likes playoffs and championships.....start stocking up on under armor. -
How two 7-9 teams go in different directions
Green Lightning replied to Rob T from OP's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Try checking rosters before making such an analogy. The Bears had far more talent thant the Bills but majorly underachieved. The Bills had a bad team and bad coaching and a gimme game when the starters didn't play. You can't compare those two teams. -
Wilfork questions Belichick decision to bench Welker
Green Lightning replied to Rayzer32's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Or rather they were exposed as the second rate defense they are. Brady was again exposed as the closet Dan Marino he is. Both guys react like pussies when they get hit or the D shuts down their little pass route favorites. They they both scream at their line and receivers...anybody but themselves is the problem. I loved little tommy getting roughed up and looking like Trent in the pocket. Just like Marino used to do when he got pummeled. They are great during the season and exposed by physical teams and they haven't been in the big dance in six years. And before you say it....yes they are many times better then the Bills and have been. Still they are not the annointed team they make out to be. You can push them around and I can't wait until the Bills beat them.
