  1. I think "linky" works nicely. As for Wang, be nice if he could cut it at guard. He's not fast but he's pretty mobile and could fit well in the pulling guard spot. Have to see how he handles a bull rush. Question is to what end? I for one don't mind what's been happening at LT. D. Bell is improving and really handles speed rushers rather well. If he can keep getting stronger and cut down on the bonehead penalties, we will have a solid LT. RT is a mess and we need to upgrade center. I'm not sure why everyone seems to be sure that Levitre can plat RT. I know he played tackle in college but he's got the shorter arms as well. I guess I'd like to see a different line up this week. We suck, why not put Wood at center and see if Wang, Urbik and Wrotto can play?
  2. I can't believe I actually read this entire thread. The OP should do a modicum if research before boldly displaying his lack of knowledge and I should learn to stop reading a thread after a first post like that.
  3. Blitzing is more effective from a 3-4 (ala LeBeau) so I agree with the OP. What the Hell, let's play the kids, blitz like the dicken' and have some fun. We'll give up a lot of big plays to good QB's but we will rough up a few, cause some turnovers and maybe get off the field on third and long a few times.
  4. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut. I can't see losing 16. But .500? The OP is has had one too many Red Bulls.
  5. Or prudent. The guy was a beast on the clear, but w/o Roids, he's Keith Ellison. Why pay $3.2 mil for a guy with a name but no game?
  6. No valure there. Whitner is young and a solid starter. Why create another hole to fill? We have more pressing needs to fill before upgrading safety.
  7. After we succumb to the overwhelming pressurebto pick a QB in round one. Carimi will be gone.
  8. Outside of Evans who do we have that other teams would want? I would not support giving up our picks for bodies to help is in the short term. Buddy's not asleep here. He's been busy with roster moves. Don't confuse activity with acomplishment. Making trades to appease fan restlessness is a bad call.
  9. The guy is too up or down - awesome or brutal - for my taste. Some of the plays he made today were amazing but I've seen him just horrible in games. He lacks touch on the ball and runs before he has to. Still - he's fun to watch. Could have a Vince Young trajectory.
  10. Maybe, but it's still better than last year. Not sure what you're so strident about. Would anybody on this thread swap our offense (I guess coaches go with that) for last year's? I don't think so.
  11. Thought I was pretty clear. If we had this year's offense on the field last year we'd have beaten the browns and a few others. As for this year, maybe if we keep them under 30 points we'll do ok.
  12. JW can handle criticism. He gave as good as he got. But nobody should have to be insulted and personally attacked by an anonymous internet tough guy. I've had some pointed disagreements with JW, but would never attack him as he is excellent writer, journalist and was a good friend to this board. It's too bad we lost a class act like that. Pretty soon TSW will be just idiots shouting insults at each other. Hey JW, give us a shout from time to time. The vast majority of this board really enjoys your participation. You are pathetic.
  13. Wood to center. Howard to RT. Wrotto/Wang to guard. Not great but bigger and stronger in run game. Pass protection = Fitzy scrambling.
  14. Thanks for getting to that before I did. Really, would we have lost to the Browns with this offense? I dont ink so.
  15. He's the best of a sorry group of LB's. If there is not an upgrade why would we let him walk? Guys - we suck. Let's not create more holes to fill than we already have.
  16. I have to agree. It's not Whitner's fault we drafted him that high. He not pro-bowl but he's pretty damn good. And we can't afford to lose any players who are good players. I'd move him if the price were right but wouldn't set out to do it. I don't understand the hating on Donte.
  17. Trent is still young....
  18. By any measure, this offense is far better than what we put on the field last year. Miles to go, but last year's offense was pathetic.
  19. Our first and second picks the last two years are either starters or will be. (Wood not Maybin) And if we would have made just about any pick but Maybin we'd have 5 solid players to build upon chosen in the first two rounds. Love to have that do-over.... Still a few more strong drafts and intelligent FA signings is the only path we have out of this mess.
  20. I remember that Jets game. Awesome! Thanks for the stories and memories DieHard. Sure is good to have you back!
  21. Yeah, that's bold. Face Book is still in the abstract. Try it in person sometime. I don't think Lil Donte would seem so Little.
  22. After reading the thread on how 17 of 22 starters on the Steelers were drafted by the Steelers, your point is well taken. Nice post.
