No hope for Maybin
Green Lightning replied to Another Point of View's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I watched AM many times in summer camp and was impressed with his jump and speed off the line. That quickly got tempered by how easily our bad tackles manhandled him. He's a speciman but just not a football player. He tries but I don't think he gets the game. All in all, this could rank as one of the worst of our #1 picks. I cringed when they made the pick when there was so much talent on the board to choose from. But we can't look back and I have no idea how long we give the guy a chance to improve. -
Yikes you are way off the mark! What we have now is not good, but it sure as Hell doesn't make me wax nostalgic for DJ and Perry. That team would have crashed this year as well. Look, we have to tear down to rebuild. Years of DJ's mediocrity are coming home to roost this year. If we lose every game this year and we are playing young guys and rooks, I'm fine with it. Just don't lose 12 to 14 games with vets who need to go and are not in the long term plans.

You have to bow to that kind of managment. Get picks for fading vets and retool yearly. We are far from that but I think moving Marshawn is a step towards that thinking. Extending Kelsay was not. I, for one, agree we should move a safety to one of the teams that lost theirs and consider moving Evans while he as value.

Trade a safety to Indy or Green Bay
Green Lightning replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm not a Donte hater. He's a solid safety. It's not his fault he was a #8 pick. That said, a package of Donte and Stroud for a 3rd would be fine with me. -
Relax, it had to be done

Nice to see you posting again....and your thoughts are spot on. -
The Redskins Got Jammal Brown for a 4th
Green Lightning replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I say exactly what you say in the same arrogant way and you call me a jerk. Okay, now you know what you come off like. We're fans and you are a self proclaimed Bills martyr. -
Okay so do we need to trade Lee Evans now?
Green Lightning replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Picks can be bundled to move up and to sweeten a deal for a trade for a quality starter. Don't scoff at picks. It's served NE well. Why not move Evans. He has value and no character issues like Lynch. He'd fetch a 3rd and a conditional pick or a straight up deal for a starting LB or DE. -

We could have EFFECTIVELY, not ACTUALLY drafted Brady, Oher, Cushing instead of who we did. BIG difference. And I'm right. -
Likely they wanted to see what they had and why move a back if the other two aren't going to do the job. There's never been any rush, but now is the time. He's been featured a few weeks. He's a good back and he's been on his best behavior. That can all change quickly. It's done and the running game will be better having two instead of three backs. Now let's move out some other bodies and truly rebuild.

I'M DONE! Goodbye Bills!
Green Lightning replied to bartshan-83's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey, not funny to do the "I'm out" thing.... That said, excellent post and could have stood on it's own as a thread starter. -
And the conditional pick is...
Green Lightning replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This can be bundled for a trade up. More picks the better. -
Three teams lost starting safeties this week
Green Lightning replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd move Whitner for Hawk in a heartbeat. I'm mixed on AJ as he hasn't cracked the starting line up in GB, but after watching the sorry LB corp we have last Sunday, Hawk has to be a step up. -
[closed]Bills Fourth Round Picks
Green Lightning replied to NaPolian8693's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
On talent alone you are right. But that talent was a walking suspension-in-waiting. Travis Henry was a talent as well but a head case. Lynch was moved while he still had value. I don't know if it was said in this thread or not, but I like Jackson far better. He hits the hole straight on and doesn't stall at the line and run east-west like Lynch does. Freddie has lots of miles left and it's timet move on. So let's all cheer Lynch on and hope he kick's *ss in Seattle - that will improve our conditional pick. -
Everyone got what they wanted in trading Lynch...
Green Lightning replied to Booger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, well a 30 plus back just ate our lunch for 130 yards. Jackson hasn't had much milage. He'll be fine for a few years. Marshawn was a timebomb. We turned a walking suspension-in-waiting into a few picks. Time to move on. -
First time I've smiled since Sunday!

Yet another unexplainable move
Green Lightning replied to vegas55's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
What's the mystery? They signed a OT possibility and they thought he was better than Meredith. Isn't that how you imrove a team? -
Here's the problem: Lynch will not bring a decent draft pick and letting him go for a 4th or lower is absurd. He's 24, as mentioned a friendly contract and he's a good to great back. That said, one of these RB's needs to go. This running back committee system is not working. My preference is to trade Lynch for a quality starter for this team - preferably a linebacker who is a real linebacker and not a slug-footed DE. We'd have to get a quality starter in return or don't move him. If not, name him the starter and let him take the majority of the reps like any starting RB would need. And TSW, let's lose the automatic reflex of "go get a LT" and do some serious reflectioin on the play of D-Bell. He's getting better and better with each game. I would worry less about LT and more about QB and ILB & OLB's in the future.

K.Williams - most under rated player in the NFL
Green Lightning replied to High Mark's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All due respect but did you watch the Jet game? Yes KW played hard - always does. But he was muscled off the line on almost every snap. They pounded the middle and did most of the cutbacks his way. Put him at DE and play Troup. Kyle is not a NT. -
Five Myths That Continue To Pervade TSW
Green Lightning replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nix didn't make the Maybin pick. DJ did. Nix has a draft and a half under his belt with the Bills. He inherited a team with 10 years of draft disasters. I'm feeling fine about my cred and stand by my post. -
Maybe if you was nicer
Green Lightning replied to Jimmy Spagnola's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This guy is breaking our b*lls. Nobody can be that dim-witted. (Love 'unvincible") Likely (with 73 posts) he's the alter ego of one of us TSW posters. Funny stuff though. -
Five Myths That Continue To Pervade TSW
Green Lightning replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Some things don't wararant a rebuttal Coach. Sorry. I get your anger and even understand why you would bring the topics up. But to say what you have listed here "busts" any myths, I'm sorry. They don't and I don't feel they have enough validity to debate them or to expend a lot of time and enegy debunking them. I read many of your posts and can agree with some. This one is over the top and that's how I see it.
