I’ve got this sneaking suspicion that they’re going to trade Shavers and continue the front office’s inability to make sound decisions when it comes to WRs.

That’s 100% the traditional logic and I generally agree with it. But you also have to wonder if an earlier bye might also prevent some of the midseason injuries guys get from grinding.

$1.9M might seem like a lot but to provide helpful perspective that’s like half of what the Bills paid him per sack for his time in Buffalo.

Cook has shown enough that the Bills should not trade him going into this year, especially as none of the other RBs the Bills have ever shown enough. But I don’t think he warrants a big contract unless he takes it to another level this year. I think there are very few RBs that ever warrant a second contract and so far I don’t see enough to think Cook is one of those. Negotiating in the press is also a bad sign of where his head is at.

Not horrible, but dang does it increase the need for a big space-eating DT / NT type. Bills are just too small up front and adding another hybrid tweener seems to be digging a deeper size hole.

100% agree it was a bad look. I get all the emotion and it sucks what happened. Let the grief in for a couple seconds, maybe shed a tear or two but then muscle up. You’re the QB which means you’re the leader, the game and season aren’t over. They lost that game the second Stroud when to pieces. This isn’t a spinal injury, this isn’t a Hamlin situation, the game wasn’t going to be called off for this and your QB has to be able to fight through it. It’s like a general or a pilot, spending too much time in your feelings will lead to awful outcomes for everyone else’s counting on you.

1 - he’s a good WR for almost $0 as a one year rental so the Bills get a WR better than any they have for a 3rd rounder. 2 - if he signs another decent contract not with the Bills next offseason they’ll get a possible comp pick right? That’s more return than most third rounders are likely to offer.
