Eli passed for over 4,000 yards and 26 TDs last year.... Tyrod, over 3,000 and 17 TDs... That's 1,000 yards of Offense and 9 TDs different Tyrod took 42 sacks Eli took 21 sacks That's HALF the amount of sacks....think of the yardage, think of the downs Tyrod took those sacks and how it impacted the game Eli's average yds per game: 251 Tyrod's average yds per game: 201 ---- that's half a football field of difference, ON AVERAGE. So, on average, Tyrod have the other team half the distance to the goal line.... If you like Tyrod's running ability, so be it...if you like the dimension it brings to the Offense, fine....but to argue that he and Eli Manning are even in the same general area regarding QB ability, is asinine to me...

"Superior player"....if you count rushing yards, fine....if you say he is the better athlete, no argument here.... But "superior" QB, oh hell to the no. QBs are supposed to pass the ball to their WRs and TEs, use the RB by design and occasionally a dump-off...hit all areas of the field, read a Defense and audible....oh Dear God, here I go again....it's fine. You like Tyrod, I don't....this is like beating my balls with a meat hammer....

Don't tell me pressure doesnt work against Brady!!

Ahhhh, those were the days, when we didn't know what we had in Bledsoe compared to the next 13 years of QB disaster. Defense was really firing that day....have to think Bledsoe and Milloy had their personal agendas on fire for that game. I CANNOT believe it's been that long since we've seen a team like that one, as bad as they were, they had talent at nearly every position group that could rival any other....parity has helped us in the NFL, but man has it been a looooong time since I felt confident on game day about the Bills winning. -
I think the only way I support it, is IF they were to Draft a QB. Eli was a great QB, and one writer pointed out that if it weren't for Gilbride's vertical passing system, Eli probably would have had a lot fewer INTs and more yardage. I think Eli still has a couple years left in the tank for a good team, but I would also want the future waiting in the wings.

I certainly hope the Bills Draft a QB, but before we can adequately discuss trading up, the season really does need to end to determine Draft position AND FA period needs to have had at least a couple weeks to filter through what the Bills have addressed without giving up Draft capital. Also, I'm hoping if they were to go "all in" on a QB and trade up, might as well go the full distance to get a guy that is better than Rudolph, otherwise wait for a guy like Josh Allen or Ryan Finley.

Tyrod asks for pro bowl votes, gets roasted
BigBuff423 replied to Teddy KGB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, you're equating frustration with how a player is for a single year, 4 Hall of Famers no-less, to Tyrod because the words are similar?? Really? Jim Kelly was known to be great and in the midst of losing 4 Super Bowls, every Bills fan was sick of hearing about what BILLS stood for and how they were a bunch of losers....so when the fans saw decline, their worst fears were realized in that the best chance to win a Super Bowl was fading with the very players as they aged, there was panic and frustration. In terms of Tyrod, he's never been the franchise QB, wasn't drafted by the Bills and guarantee you that if / when he comes back to Buffalo to visit, he'll be welcomed with basic decency and a warm hello, but he will NEVER come into town atop the parade float.....unless by some miracle he wins a playoff game in Buffalo, which would most likely have to be this year since I doubt he's back next year regardless of the outcome....short of a Super Bowl win and since that ain't happenin', the rest is all but done. -

You mean because they tell the truth? Uh, no thanks....I'll take a fan base that is honest about the issues with the team over homers who can't articulate a coherent sentence as to WHY their team is any good. Jets fans do this all the time. Buffalo has always supported their truly great players, Tyrod is not one of them. -
I don't agree with your take on Dareus, but to each his own....however, we need to point out a HUUUUUGE mistake factually regarding Kyle Williams: So far he has 41.5 sacks....he had 10.5 sacks in ONE year, the great year with Schwartz. Let's clear that up and edit please. Doing a disservice to the man who to me should go on Buffalo's Wall of Fame someday.

So I’m dense because you missed my point? Ok, so be it...and who’s whining? How about you read all my responses and see that I’m happy the Bills won and sincerely hope they keep winning...but that doesn’t mean they (or we) should be content with what is not great QB play. You can be, that’s your prerogative, but don’t confuse complacency with “dense”....until the Bills acquire the kind of QB that can transcend the game, I will not be satisfied. I’m done with mediocre, or pedestrian, or “average”, and if that’s a point you can’t understand, then I’m not sure you should be trying to call out people for being “dense”.

Ok, so now we’re putting Tyrod on same level as Stafford? Part of the problem with these arguments is that you’re comparing an isolated throw by one of the most gifted QBs in our time to Tyrod’s regularly errant throws. As for Goff, he’s a second year QB in NFL, and Smith has been abysmal in the last 5 weeks, so if we’re using that as the standard, I’d say we’ve lost the drive for excellence. You and others like you will make excuses for Tyrod, as for me - I’m done. We have no other choice for this year and I hope the playoffs happen, however they happen, but for my take, I would do whatever is necessary to Draft the future of the franchise next April.
-
Ummmm no....just, no.....they don't intend Tyrod to over / under throw receivers....they don't intend for the pass to O'Leary with him basically knitting an f-ing sweater in the MIDDLE OF THE FIELD to be at his ankles....they don't intend any of those things....Tyrod is fine for this year, but he did NOT, I repeat he DID NOT win those games...he managed them well enough NOT to lose...big difference.

McDermott deserves at least two full years before any significant amount of praise or criticism is thrown his way. Despite the Peterman debacle, he has done well this year so far, especially given what talent has been on the field. The Peterman experiment was necessary after Tyrod amassed just 56 yards in 3 quarters and then Peterman was able to move the ball a little, so taking the chance on Peterman was far-fetched it was just an unfortunate necessity based on how the season has unfolded. I was all for giving him a chance, but as we saw, he isn't ready and may never be the answer for the Bills at QB, probably isn't...but, it was worth a shot given how poorly the Offense played in the weeks leading up to the Chargers game. As for all other things, giving Beane and his staff and entire off-season with multiple Draft picks and a fair amount of FA money, plus next year's results on the field from McD, will be a much better barometer of what the Bills have in this staff....winners or chumps.

I agree, it's called perspective....look, I hate the Pats, but honestly it's just because they've been so good for so long....yeah, yeah, all the cheating stuff sucks, but they keep winning and we keep whining about them....it is what it is...if we want to be hated by the rest of the league for something other than dumb tailgate stuff, then McD and the team need to start kicking tail and winning games. Enough with the complaining....also, as for Brady, I can detest the team because they're in the same division, but read about how he handles himself and how he contributes to people outside of football, and you can't hate him as a person. Reading about his mother with cancer, how they rallied as a family to come together and support him during the season, it humanizes him and the game needs more of that...not just him, but all of the players. Kyle Williams is one of my favorites for similar reasons, just a really decent guy and many of the Bills, JJ Watt, the list goes on...we need to keep in perspective that as much as we love the team and the game of football, there are real people and wishing someone an injury, is not a humanly decent thing to wish on someone, regardless of who they play for or what they've accomplished in life.

The Defense needs to play the best game of their year to date, Tyrod needs to be unleashed to run as often as he'd like, and there needs to be a +2 turnover ratio in the Bills favor. Running game should be good, but Belichick is good and smart enough to know they will need to stop Shady and Tyrod, so they'll keep a spy in on almost every play, and force Tyrod to throw efficiently. Also, I think if the Bills win, they'll need at least 2 big Offensive and 1 big Defensive play, ala long run / pass for TDs and one INT or fumble recovery to put the Bills immediately in the Red Zone (so, not a TD necessarily).
-
I concur....Shady has done well in Buffalo, but his time is up. As for high draft pick, that might be the case, but it also truly depends on FA and what they need to give up to get their QB. Given what the team needs, I wouldn't be surprised to see them stay put on both picks, take BPA but really try and get their QB in the 1st round. EDIT: I think his time is up mostly due to cost. I think the team sees the money saved, as well as Tyrod's money saved, and believe in FA they can spend on Offensive line, Draft QB and RB at significantly reduced cost while upgrading the Offensive / Defensive lines. In other words, I don't think they go from 25 to 2 overall and I don't think they pick a QB in the 20s when the top 4 have already been Drated, ala Losman in 2004....if they have a mid-round pick, then I can see them moving into top 5 to get their QB because they have the Draft capital this year, while not needing to give up a TON.... Most likely scenario....Bills Draft 20th, take a guy like Josh Allen or Ryan Finley who falls to them, then take a DT/DE with their second 1st round pick. Then get the with the second 2nd round pick or their current only 3rd. Really does depend on FA regarding D-line and O-line....but if they're Drafting a QB, and I think they definitely should, then they should also go spend most of their FA money on Offensive linemen to protect said QB and use the rest to get a great MLB...use Draft for remaining positions.

I was wrong about Peterman being so bad in his first start...but I'm still willing to give him more time and hopefully some better blocking before I decide he's "garbage". However, very wrong about how I thought the Offense would respond to Peterman's quicker decision making and giving his receivers a chance to make a play.
-
I'm NOT defending Peterman's performance.....please read through that. What I AM saying, is that in spite of those 5 INTs, Peterman STILL had more yards in a half than Tyrod did in 3 quarters.....I"m not saying either one of those things is ANY good, they're both horrible!! Just that I think it's funny or quirky that Peterman was terrible, exacerbated by a horrible Offensive line performance, and YET still had more yards than Tyrod in the Saints game. That's all....
