  1. For me, yes I want them to Draft a QB - Cousins is discussed in another thread - but IF they're going to trade all those chips, then don't let it be for the 3rd best QB, UNLESS they have Darnold (insert name here) or someone else rated as their 1st QB, and thereby 1st Overall value....THEN, and ONLY THEN, would I be for giving away as much Draft capital. Otherwise, I'd wait and take the QB when it comes to you, ala Allen or Rudolph or Finley late in the 1st or 2nd round. Just my .02
  2. With all of the Cousins discussions today and yesterday brought on by Dunkirk Don's reported "insider information" that the Bills are in the Cousins game if he makes it to FA, ESPN posted this graphic: This obviously does not tell the whole story, but as we can Tyrod a few slots down - he runs when he doesn't need to and holds the ball too long and has amazing escapability - but Kirk is more the pocket passer - which IMHO means this graphic is more important to him.
  3. Dismissing the fact that I disagree with essentially every virtue of your argument and reject the notion entirely of picking the 3rd best of anything after giving up so much Draft capital, Orlando Brown will NOT be available in 2nd round.
  4. Wait for it....they'll be running you out of here with torches and pitchforks.... Although, personally I appreciate the info / validation....regardless of accuracy, the effort is appreciated.
  5. Hey man, I know it's frustrating and there will always be people trying to squelch your enthusiasm and doubt what you have to offer....but in the end, you're not doing this for those folks and truthfully you're not even doing it for yourself. You're doing it for those people who will at least read / listen to your information with an open mind and say, 'Hey, if it happens man he was right, if it doesn't then he could be full of it or the team just went in a different direction'. It's not like you're taking food off the table of the people on this board, if they take it too far, let 'em be....for the rest of us, thank you for sharing what you know, now it's up to us to believe or not believe but I don't think it makes sense to cast aspersions on your character when there is nothing, zero reason to either confirm nor deny your statements to this point. So, for me: I'll take it at face value, reportedly accurate information in the moment, and wait and see what happens. Don't let the immature fools run you off, Tim Graham did that and while I certainly understand it, this board is the lesser for it.
  6. In my mind I'm perplexed by the fans who want McD fired afer just 13 games....looking at the entire picture, he's done an admirable job. Traded Darby, Watkins, Dareus....let Gilmore, Gillisilee (sp?), walk....and while the team got E.J. Gaines (who's been good thus far, when healthy), J. Matt who and Benjamin, they're currently in 6th in Wild Card standings, all the while Tyrod become LESS effective over the course of the season (how that's even possible I don't know!), faced a snow dome game with the playoffs on the line, dealt with injuries at all levels, and still found a way to keep almost all the Draft picks they acquired last off-season and remain at least mathematically poised to control their own destiny.....IN DECEMBER!! When this team started the year, I don't know how many truly believed they had a chance at the playoffs....most of us believed this was a re-building year with a set-up to continue to the massive overhaul next year....so, we knew we were going to take our lumps, but the change has been impressive thus far...no coach is without mistakes, especially new HCs and yet, here we are....McD presents himself as someone who wants to get better himself, not just his players which means when he can, he will probably learn from the mistakes he made and work to grow from them. IMHO, that's all we can ask....he's put the team in a position to be able to win and control their fate, he's dealt with injuries and controversy, he's made difficult decisions, overcome some of his own mistakes and certainly countless mistakes of others - one who shall not be named - and handled tremendous turnover from the day he's stepped through the door. Call me naive, or just plain hopeful, but I think McD and Beane have this ship heading in the right direction. It takes time to turn this monstrous ship around and all signs point to the right people making good decisions for once. Time will tell and bare the truth out, but Beane and his team haven't even had ONE fricken off-season since they were hired AFTER FA and Draft and McD isn't even through his FIRST year of coaching.....we need to see progress, but we also need to be patient.
  7. I'm in the build a retractable dome group....as a fan, I wouldn't want to spend all that time in a blizzard. As a father, I don't want to bring my 5 year old daughter to a game like that and as person watching at home, it was still difficult to watch because the aesthetics were unpleasant. All in all, I like domes, and consider Minnesota and Indy getting Super Bowls....not totally out of the realm of possibilities that it could come to Buffalo if a dome were built.
  8. There's a number of calls that went against the Bills this year, in other games that had big implications in the outcome of the game....this, was at least partial retribution. Also, we laud the Packers for Aaron Rodgers and their Hail Mary wins, it's virtually the same thing....a tremendous break that altered the game. #OntoMiami
  9. I disagree....when taking the totality of circumstances into effect, Peterman played admirably - although also stupidly when it comes to sliding - and showed a little life when it truly mattered. Tyrod probably gets the start because the playoffs are still on the line, but IMHO Peterman showed at least enough to give him another start.
  10. Um, how did you bypass the naughty filter?? ??
  11. "Factory of Sadness"...Bills or Browns....I'm just a bit confused....
  12. I have to say, for all the outlandish ideas being presented, this one I like the best....probably not going to happen, but I like the out-of-the-box thinking....
  13. I don't understand the Zay Jones contempt from people on this board.....in another thread, something like a month ago - and I'm too lazy to go find it - I posted numbers from of the all-time greats....in the top 10 WRs of all time and all of them HOFs from their Rookie years. It was eye-opening how lacking their production was except for one Mr. Randy Moss. Otherwise, most of the numbers were either "meh", or just a little better than "okay". WRs take a year or two to develop and very few produce in their 1st year...it's that 2nd year you see true development and progress and you find out what you have, good or bad. To exacerbate the issue as others have said, he didn't have a very accurate QB throwing to him and in fact PFF listed him 3rd among the top 3 WRs to have "uncatchable" passes thrown to him....shocker I know. Also, progress is what I've seen from Zay....he just needed to get out of his own head and he needs to continue to progress, but as long as he does, I feel good about Zay's future with the Bills.
  14. But to be fair, Beane and his staff weren't here....and given how quickly Doug et. al. were fired, and I don't think anybody with a brain will disagree, it was mostly McD's draft with Whaley's staff scouting information. So, it's a guess, but I'm guessing the whole idea of trading down and gathering more picks was so the in-coming GM and staff could hand pick their QB of the future, along with McD's input about what he wants as well. We may disagree, but in my mind it was strategic. And again, we may disagree, but IMHO this has all been strategic....every move, every draft pick acquisition has been leading up to this 2018 Off-season with the intent to finish the dismantling that started last year. Also, it's only 2/3 of a year, but so far there have been some really good signs of life and potential from this Draft class. People will pick on Zay, but for a Rookie WR, it's about as expected - what's truly important is his progress. At one point in another thread that I'm too lazy to find, I posted some all-time top 10 WR numbers in their Rookie years....it wasn't pretty for the most part. And yes, different era of football, but they're all time greats for a reason.
  15. Getting a QB is THE priority this Off-season, but the Bills will have plenty of FA money to do much, much more....from getting a couple new WRs, Offensive line, new TE, and probably a new RB (not that Shady hasn't been great), while also getting key defensive players to help with field position and getting the Offense back on the field. Let's also keep in mind this is the SECOND season for both of them.....meaning, you can't bail on your young, developing QB after one season. You have to stick him out there, let him learn by throwing INTs, getting hit and getting back up, learning the Offense and for God's sake, keep the same OC. So, Bills - if you're going to change OCs, for the love of God, do it BEFORE you draft your QB of the future and then let him grow and develop.
  16. bandit, good to hear from ya! Haven't seen you around for a while, hope all is well! I get the point about moving Glenn to RT, but given Glenn has played on the left side for most of his career and that he may be more suited for a Guard at this point, reinforcing the left side - especially if the Bills draft a right handed QB - makes more sense to me as they will most likely need to draft or sign an OT anyways, let it be a RT.
  17. I understand the frustration given the end of last season and how little he's played this season, but all you need to do is look at the games he's played when he's been relatively healthy - which was most of them up until the end of last year - to see just how good of a blocker he truly is.....additionally, they already have him under contract and if the Bills could find a way to put both him and Dawkins on the left side, I think that's a great left side to have...
  18. Yeah.....it's just wishful thinking...when all the other years the Browns pass on good to great QBs and the ONE year the Bills are actually primed to make a good decision on a QB, *that's* the year the Browns take one in the top 5....still hoping the drinking water is somehow contaminated with a "QB aversion" poison....
  19. I hope Hue stays because maybe there's a "chance" they don't take a QB...????? (crossing fingers)
  20. Bills need to take note....I'm hoping Beane and company are smarter than that.....but 2018 will tell us a lot about the philosophy. However, Beane and his staff haven't even had ONE draft yet...so, despite my caveat about the QB situation, I hope they at least get 2 years to acquire talent...
  21. I know we're all excited about the potential new QB that could be coming to Buffalo (I know I am!!), but before any of us can really speculate about what the Bills should do, or might do, etc....FA has to play out a bit. We don't know what they're thinking in terms of money, trades, and priorities - although, you would *think* QB would be at the top of their list... Because if say the Bills trade or release McCoy, that adds a RB to the top 5 needs and then they sign or trade for a DE / DL, that slides the priority down a bit...they sign a CB / LB (actually 2 since Brown is a FA also), and Offensive lineman, it changes things drastically.
  22. It's one reason why WRs should be devalued in terms of the Draft...many of the best WRs (very, very much like TEs) some in the middle rounds.
  23. As I'm sure you recall Yolo, the note on Glenn when he came was out of college was that he may very well be a better Guard than Tackle. Now, he's played very, very well when he's healthy. But, in your quote of Sal and as others have speculated, the team really seems to like Dawkins at LT and he has played admirably all things considered. With that in mind, maybe it makes more sense to move Glenn to LG since Richie may or may not be here next year and either way is a bit long in the tooth. To me, (when healthy) that puts two of your better Offensive linemen on the left side that are relatively young and can make make that left side even better. If Richie stays, it makes more sense to move HIM to RG since he's a short timer with the Bills anyways.
  24. I've said it before, I think Hughes is gone after this year. The contract and the negative yards through bad penalties....that means, if they cut Shaq or trade him for Draft pick(s), that would require two DEs on their revamped D-line...and considering that Kyle may very well retire and they need DT pretty badly already, I'd say it's too much turnover for one year. As someone else mentioned, he was on IR last year, this was essentially his Rookie year in a new Defensive scheme. I think they give Shaq another year for the reasons mentioned.
  25. Which to me, makes the most sense....spend the FA where you can't get the Draft pick, they'll have it especially presuming Tyrod isn't coming back and Shady were to go, the money will be there. Not to mention, plenty of good RBs in 3rd / 4th round if they don't want to spend a 1st or 2nd on one. But, a good, young RB should be a priority somewhere in their plans.
