You mention the Saints game, and it just occurred to me....with 5 INTs in the first half and a total disaster that it was, Peterman STILL had more yards in that game than Tyrod did against the Saints in 3 quarters!!! Again, fewer turnovers for sure, but at this point Tyrod is who we believe him to be. The only thing I'll say to the larger point is this: IF, you're going to have Tyrod be your QB (which I don't agree with) then you have to let him be himself....to run loose, roll out of the pocket, throw on the run and use his athletic ability. If you want a pocket passer, stick with Peterman for better or worse.

Official Fire Leslie Frazier Thread

Right now, I'd support firing them both. And Castillo.....let McD take over the play-calling for the Defense, and promote somebody from the Offensive side to finish the season. -
Watkins needs to step up.... Woods out....

Made worse by the fact the Bills could have remained at 9, without the trade up and draft capital they had to relinquish, and taken Beckham. UGGGGGHHHH.... -
I'm not doing this to pick a verbal spar over our disagreement, but do you still believe they bring Tyrod back? I still think Shady is gone due to all of my aforementioned reasons, Hughes has become virtually invisible and I just don't see Kyle sticking around for this re-build. But alas....we shall wait and see.

And I'm willing to wait on "The Process" as long I also see "the progress"....if they get their QB, I'm all in on "The Process" for at least 2 years after that point....if they fail to get their guy in 2018, then I think the seat starts slowly warming up, merely because by an act of omission you've stated you think the QB position doesn't need to be addressed immediately or that you can win without the franchise caliber QB....nonsense in my opinion, but that's the wagon you've hitched yourself to if you fail to get the ONE position absolutely paramount to success in the NFL.

Can't say you're wrong about a number of fans believing this, but Dear God help us if anyone in the Bills' FO thinks this as well! -
Frank Reich thing may happen....as HC if McD doesn't get his head out of his posterior....things will need to change by end of year 2 or he will find himself on the scorching hot seat.

Who starts next week: Taylor or Peterman?
BigBuff423 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey Bro, we're on the same page regarding starting Peterman in the Chargers game...I was all for it, and still am despite the outcome because the Bills need/ed to know what Peterman brings to the table prior to the 2018 Off-season. No argument there....I suppose the only disagreement is that mathematically speaking, they still aren't out of the playoffs and at the time of the Jets game, they were 5-2, firmly in the first Wild Card spot and could have taken the AFC East Division lead with a win over the Jets since the Pats didn't have the same number of division wins as the Bills would have...so AT THE TIME yes, playoffs were still a consideration....after the abysmal game they played, their true character and ultimate reality was revealed thereby ending any real possibility of the playoffs in terms of realistic expectations. Not sure why we're in disagreement here since we agree about the reality, and factually they were in fact the lead Wild Card team going into that game and actually stayed as much until their loss to San Diego yesterday. Not sure what the difficulty is....? -
Truthfully, Dennison probably needs to go....and you know, so does Castillo, and....Frazier.

I was referring to your reply to me that the playoffs were out of reach at the end of the JETS game....if we're talking Peterman, I don't what's there...I do think if the Bills want to make the playoffs this year, they're probably better with Tyrod, even though I am really not a Tyrod fan at all! I've wanted a different QB since mid-way through his first year in Buffalo, but given the fiasco that was Peterman and the abysmal Offensive line, I suppose Tyrod is better suited for that mess.... -

And I'm sure we all know this, effectively....but statistically, they're still "in the hunt", so based on semantics alone was more my statement. But, I can't disagree with your overall idea. -

Beane was seen as a rising talent, and the FO he's assembled since his hire has been lauded as outstanding. He and his staff have not even had ONE Draft to determine what they can do. As for Pro Personnel, losing Darby has not made sense to me, outside of that, I think they've done fairly well considering....see Hyde and Poyer, see EJ Gaines who was just part of the trade for Watkins, not the whole package and considering what he's meant to the passing Defense, I think it's considerable. I don't like the compensation for Dareus, and I didn't agree with trading Darby, but otherwise, the early signs are promising but yet to know what value has truly been gained. -
I completely understand your frustration, I'm there too (and no doubt basically every other Bills fan) and I agree....IF and that's a huge IF, there's a QB of such talent as determined by the FO to be that talent. Presuming there is that QB there, ala Wentz or Goff of most recent drafts, then yes, by all means sell the farm, but go get your bull. Also, they will have FA money to spend to help in the other areas, not to mention the money they'll save by cutting / trading other players who are high Cap guys. Don't leave out Finley...I think he has a chance to be real good in the NFL. I'd take him over maybe Mayfield, and possibly Jackson just because of how Finley's game translates to the NFL. Rosen is the chosen one....Darnold, has issues and any NFL team will need to be patient enough to let him learn through two years of mistakes and trial by error....

The first ax has fallen....Denver fires Mike McCoy Despite the firing, I'd rather have McCoy at this point than Dennison.

I voted Tyrod, merely because the playoffs - while on life support - are still there in the background and I think McD caught of a sniff of them and wants them (as he should) and right now, it appears Tyrod does that best for them. Giving Peterman the starts the rest of the way helps them evaluate more fully what they do or don't have in him - and yes, Sunday was bad in an epic way - but given the record, I don't see it. -

If the Bills were not looking like a potential playoff team, I don't see the Benjamin trade. -

Agreed on all points. It will be interesting to see what falls out of the shake-up tree after the 2017 season with Beane and his staff in place and how they go about getting the remaining players to do what you mentioned: an authentic buy-in of culture change. New players are a must, beginning with QB, but you're also right about the transparency of the HC and staff, if it's not there, no one will buy-in, now or later. -
Ronald Darby - Not Good Enough for this Scheme...
BigBuff423 replied to bouds's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, it was unpopular, but I understand the move with Sammy....I did not understand the Darby move at all. Regardless of the Matthews exchange and 3rd pick...although, b/c we gave up a 3rd for Benjamin, I suppose it was more like Darby for Benjamin, but still...don't think moving Darby was a smart move. -
Lets just go for Kirk Cousins in the offseason
BigBuff423 replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And for reasons unknown, there is a APB out on Terrelle Pryor.... -
Yeah, and I'm not sure the Bills are doing it right....according to that article, step one: get your new QB with your new coach. Hoping the reason this didn't happen was due to Beane not on staff at time of the Draft, otherwise...once again, no real hope for true change.

BigBuff423 replied to Buffalo03's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The only issue I have with this, other than his age, is that it would most likely take ALL the Cap money the Bills are projected to have next year. Which means, you have just the Draft to fix all the other areas on the team. As opposed to using your Draft capital to take a QB in the 1st, either with ONE of their two picks (preferrably) or using both to trade up, but using the same amount of FA money to address Dline, Oline, LBer, Corner and along with depth at WR, Safety, and TE. Then, in the Draft you can still take the QB plus more Dline, Oline, WR, and LBer.... -
Does anyone else feel numb to this?
BigBuff423 replied to TonyBeets's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not numb yet....but I've capitulated the season to a total bust...and even more, it's frustrating because the QB position continues to be the bane of the Bills' existence...17 years and counting. -
Actually, just linked an article in a new thread about this exact same topic....

The only one I really feel bad for is Kyle Williams...man has been a constant professional and worked hard and done a hell of a job for his entire career, despite the merry-go-round of coaches and coordinators. Eric Wood seems like a nice guy, and also seems to be a good teammate but really an average Center for most of his career and I just don't think he's done a great job in pass protection overall and intermittently does well enough in the running game. Richie, eh...he's been a good guy since coming to Buffalo, but you know the rest and he didn't start and stay here and Shady, had ample opportunities in Philly and was traded, so it's not like he chose to come here although he too has done and said the right things for the most part since being in Buffalo. As for Rex Ryan "bluster and bravado band-aids", couldn't agree more....at this point, I'm just for letting Peterman play, let him get the experience and look to 2018.
