why would not having an agent prevent teams from drafting him? This makes zero sense To those who point to Jackson not having great stats against "elite defenses" can look no further than the terrible offensive talent around Jackson the past two years....there was like 1 player from Louisvilles offense that was even drafted over the past two years. I dont see accuracy problems, not any more than any other college QB (or TT) coming out. If we dont go all in to trade up for Rosen/Mayfield/Darnold then I would be thrilled if we took Jackson at 21/22

under your scenario, why not keep Glenn and move him to RT, thus solidifying your line without bringing in other iffy/questionable FAs? our best current o-line with our roster: Dawkins-Incognito-Groy/Draft/FA-Miller-Glenn

It doesnt matter who the QB is that they take...but they need to take a QB this year (either pay for best FA or spend the draft capital to get your guy) because the QBs in next years draft look like warm vomit. Identify your guy and grab him this year, we cannot afford to wait... I dont know if it means trading up, standing pat and taking who is there or what...but it starts with identifying the RIGHT guy and doing what you think is necessary to get him.

hopefully with a better offense we wont be always in the position of trying not to score....unless that truly is McD's way, which I am hoping is not. Yes I get he is a defensive coach, but there are plenty of defensive coaches who let their offenses rip. The issue is, you have to have a QB/offense that can actually move the ball and score without worry of losing the game...hopefully we get that in the next year or two

This makes a lot of sense. HOWEVER, I don't want them wasting all of this years draft capital on drafting a QB IF THEY ARENT sold that he is the guy. And that may be the case in this draft, it also might not be. Only our FO will know if there is a guy worth selling the farm for, if there is, then by all means go get him. If they arent sold on a guy having IT, then keep building the roster through the draft. I know many want a QB at all costs in this draft, but there has to be a guy there worth taking (and having the opportunity to take him...someone has to want what we offer in trade to move out of a QB taking spot). It isnt just as easy as wanting it...you have to identify a guy (there isnt one in every draft), not just "the best guy of this bunch", but truly be sold on a guy having IT, and then be able to find a trade partner.

I dont think he wholly disagrees with you, you just take the extreme pessimistic approach, when he approached it as a realist who seems to agree that we have a lot of work to do. But this shouldnt have caught you, or anyone, by surprise. Of course we have a lot of work to do, luckily we have a lot of draft picks, money for FAs to get this done the right way. If you arent encouraged by the first offseason of McBeane and their plan, then I don't know what will satisfy you We don't need a "tear it down" rebuild, we need a rebuild and have been doing so for 12 months....is that fact lost on you?

This guy gets it. The rebuild started last offseason, continued during the season, and will continue this off season and beyond. I like that the GM and HC are on the same page with the rebuild, and McD can get the most talent out of a roster (as shown by this years success). We do have a lot of holes to fill going forward, have the draft capital and money in FA to do so...this year and next. Its a process.......trust it

I asked a different poster what Shady supposedly has "spouted off" about in the past and then since has "matured" and "learned his lessons". Shady is the same guy hes always been. Passionate. Emotional. Great team mate. Motivated. I propose HE has not changed at all, but its Bills fans who have changed their attitude about him. Some people were so salty about Shady not wanting to be traded (DUH! Why would he want to leave the only state he has ever played football in his entire life, to go to a team mired in bad football for 20 years?) that they never gave him a chance...and always looked for his faults, even though he has done nothing but be the ultimate professional since he has arrived here. Good on Bills fans for finally realized what a Gem Shady is and always has been.

There is no working on what he suffers from, "baby-arm-itis". He is what he is, weak. It wont improve. He needs to be cut.

To all in this thread comparing Jackson/Watson...Let me remind you, Watson still has done nothing in the NFL. Did he play like 5 games really well? Absolutely, so did Trent Edwards. I would suggest waiting to see how he actually develops as a QB before labelling him a success or not/labelling yourself correct or not

I think it would be natural for anyone to be upset about being traded. Especially if you have spent your entire life in the state of Pennsylvania. You would feel unwanted because you are literally that, unwanted. If he got traded from Buffalo today tomorrow I would fully expect him to be pissed about that too. You have a great memory if you remember him saying anything after the night club incident, my memory was he said nothing. I need some memory medicine. What I see about Shady is people always wanting to paint him in a negative light for one reason or another. Its a shame too because he is a role model, and has been for years. More NFL players could learn from him. (Not necessarily pointing fingers at you Shaw, just in general...people always trying to jump on him for little things)
