  1. I dont disagree that he blows, or peterman blows, or Bosa is really good. I just dont discount Bosa's comments, when he has never even come close to publicly trashing someone he just played in his entire football life. To say it seemed like someone wasn't even trying is pretty damning. I think it had something to do with him not trying (again, yes..he blows). And again, for seemingly the fifth time in this thread, to bring it back to the point of the thread...we need a new RT next year in FA and it boggles my mind how Mills has maintained his job as starting RT for us through different regimes.
  2. like, a backup/rotational DT? Seems we have two really good DTs on the roster already for next year (providing Phillips pans out, and I am betting that he does).
  3. My guess, and hope, is that Allen and the Bills already have a deal in place and its just a matter of Allen arriving at camp and signing the paper. Formality. There is no rush for him to sign it (arrive early/make another trip to WNY from his Cali home) if its already agreed upon, so just roll into camp, sign your name and play football.
  4. its easy to look like you are getting beat all game by someone way better than you, without looking like your sabotaging, because your likely gonna get dusted most plays anyway. not a conspiracy, just some guys pissed at a coaches decision when they think its sabotaging their season. Either way we need a new RT next offseason.
  5. hes getting on the practice field TODAY????? of course its OK for us to actually see him play, but bro, its a message board...this is the purpose, to discuss these things. Why do you come to this board?
  6. isnt Tanner V backup MLB though? itll be interesting to see if they rotate him in with Lorax - especially in passing situations (although Lorax strength is rushing the passer).
  7. McD doesnt seem like the type of guy who would tolerate that either, it just adds to the whole weird Mills still starting at RT situation. I agree with you about how we will continue to be attacked. Hopefully some scheming/quick accurate passes are part of this offense and whoever plays QB can execute those plays regularly. Otherwise, it'll still be a putrid passing offense. THAT said, we need a RT in the draft or FA next year BADDDDDD (mills looks to be finally gone to as he is a FA haha)
  8. SOME views are perfectly valid ones. Someone like you, who actually watches film and has a track record of evaluating players, has a perfectly valid view. PLENTY of people on this very message board just parrot what they hear or read from mainstream OR they form their own opinions without actually doing any film watching or research and take their own words as gospel. Both of these groups do not have a perfectly valid view. Keep doing what your doing man, and like you, I hope you are wrong about Allen and the Bills brass gets it right (please dear god have gotten it right).
  9. depends on what you mean by "solid careers". I think they might stick around the league as backups/spot starters places. Mills does seem like the weak link, but hes survived two different coaching staffs now and has retained his job. I know there has not been much competition, but jesus...he is STILL the starting RT for us. I just dont know what to make of him and that RT situation. (as far as Bosa goes I just think some guys were pissed about TT being benched and truly werent trying)
  10. saw this a week ago 3/10 think idiots jumping through tables proclaiming themselves to be Bills Mafia is incredibly stupid 1/10 I did still chuckle 4/10
  11. perfectly acceptable to predict overall records based on talent/scheme/stability/players added/players lost....and that is kind of fun. But to factor in schedule really at all is stupid. The NFL is truly week to week.
  12. THIS TIMES A MILLION!!! "hard schedule" is right up there with "high motor" as far as useless, stupid football quotes. We have NO CLUE how hard the schedule is going to be, we have no clue how good each team is going to be, especially at the point we play them. Maybe they are down to their third string QB, maybe they have an off day, maybe their best offensive weapon has a case of explosive diarrhea...there is a reason they actually play the games. Nice post.
  13. he better excel at special teams...he has to beat out Stanford, Vallejo and Humber...gonna be an uphill climb for an undersized/not incredibly fast LB. Hopefully he shows some glimpses of his pass rushing from last season and he can make the squad as a special teamer and situational pass rusher. Lord knows we need to generate some QB pressure.
  14. I live in Buffalo. I criticize it plenty, but mostly for the horrendous weather for half of the year. I realize there is nothing I or the city can do about that though (I can't move, job with pension and wifes company are here), so I don't trash it too much. The weather sucks balls. The people are great. The food is great. There is entertainment (I have seen 6 concerts in the past 16 days and will see another tomorrow night). You just gotta poke around.
  15. I haven't forgotten about the October surprise BUT you cant lump an otherwise usually beautiful time of year in Buffalo because of one freak snow storm (regardless of how much those two weeks without power sucked haha). October is the perfect fall, football, light jacket weather! You are right, thats too hot...I LOVE the heat, but I love the heat when I am by the ocean.
  16. I don't think either Hapless or myself are not choosing to be optimistic. We were discussing what needs to happen in order to predict what Dabolls offense will look like (the thread purpose). If he hasn't improved as an OC since his last go round in the NFL, we will be looking at a bottom feeder offense, as his other NFL offenses have been. If he has learned and improved (great chance at that, who isn't better at their job now than they were 8 years ago? who wouldn't get better coaching along side two of the greatest coaches to ever live?) then he will know what he has to do to get the most out of his players and his offense, and we will be pleasantly surprised with what we see him from offense. Will be an exciting year hopefully if its the latter.
  17. no one is saying hes bad dude....read. Hapless and I are saying this: the real question this season is if Daboll is the type of OC who can get the most of his talent, regardless of what that talent is, because really good coordinators do seem to get the most out of their players. Daboll's best offense has been ranked 20th overall. That isn't a good track record in 4 years of NFL experience. BUT SINCE THEN, he has likely gotten a chance to improve himself as a coach by working with the best coaches in the business, and that has gotten him another shot with the Bills...we are hoping it is enough improvement that he now CAN get the most out of his players, regardless of talent. We aren't trashing him dude, relax. We are just trying to intelligently discuss the chances of him having learned since his last, not so great, go arounds as an NFL OC.
  18. June, July, August, September and October. That's 5 months bro : ) Don't cheat us out of those 2 swing months.
  19. Daboll had bad offenses in cleveland, had the 20th ranked offense the next season as OC in Miami, and then a putrid offense in KC the year after that. Regardless of players (and the point we were talking about) a good OC can pull something out of them with coaching/system...so we are stuck with this question: Can Daboll do that? His track record of bad NFL offenses is not inspiring, but I am not sold on whether he can do that or not, but that will be KEY with how our offense performs this season - hence, has he learned anything since his last stint as an NFL OC? Based on who he has spent those years coaching with, I am betting he HAS and we will be impressed.
  20. why we will win 8 games or more: - "tough schedule" - this is said EVERY YEAR about us/other teams. And every year I say the same thing, we have nooooo clue if we have a hard schedule or not yet. Teams that were good last year might not be this year and vice versa. Saying schedules are tough or not is BS, thats why you play the games. - defense - defense was dominant at times last year and we have done nothing but add to it with play makers, or at least upgrades at several positions. Star, Trent, Davis, Edmunds...yes please. Another year older and wiser and better versed in the defensive system that has proven for over a decade to be successful against NFL offenses...yes please. There is no reason to think this defense will take another step forward this year. They got us into the playoffs last year (with an assist from Dalton), they can keep us around 8 wins this season. - Head Coach Sean McDermott (and staff) - he took a worse team to the playoffs last year by coaching the hell out of them up and down the roster. - Daboll - pure hope here. But can it get worse than we have seen for two years from our OC's (and also Tyrod)? I am looking forward to seeing a different, fun and innovative offense this year and beyond. It will be refreshing and give us an opportunity to win games on offense instead of just not losing. All pure conjecture here, but as I said, it can't get any more vanilla/boring/worse than what we have seen recently. At least 8 wins, could still miss the playoffs, but I am confident in at least 8.
  21. I understand people sticking up for Buffalo....but for someone to argue that Buffalo has more to offer than New Orleans?????? LOL. New Orleans is one of the best cities in the freaking country for ANYTHING. I LOVE BUFFALO, but I'm no special ed. either. New Orleans kicks asssssssssssssssssssssssssss in almost every way possible (dam hot in the summer with no beach relief - delta doesn't count).
  22. I think many who are clamoring for us to add interior OL or WR help are off the mark. Some of us may not love what we have at those positions, but I think McBeane really does. They have upside and "their guys" in their minds. We could add a piece or two in a few weeks after other teams cut down, but I don't see anything earth shattering here.
  23. Foxborough Mass....what the hell is there to do in Foxborough? Its not in Boston, its damn near an hour away with traffic most days. THAT is the worst city to visit on the NFL list.
  24. Considering Bodine has been a starter for four straight years in Cinci, I would list him (not saying he is a world beater, but has never NOT been a starter in the NFL). Zay Jones should not be discounted, he had a tough rookie season due to the space between his head...but I think he could crack "starter snaps" on some NFL teams for sure, not saying he would be a top two, but I think he can be competent. Kerley has been a slot starter for much of his career. Ivory has been a starter, at least shared carries throughout his career. We have no clue what we have in Allen at QB. I am not saying we will be even close to the best offense in the NFL, but having half of your players as starter level across the NFL isn't NOTHING. We have question marks, so does more than half of the league. And bottom line, really good coordinators can mask deficiencies and help pull out the best of players talent. Track record isn't awesome for Daboll in that regard, but hopefully he has learned a thing or two over the past five seasons and we will see a different, more seasoned coordinator. My two cents.
  25. where on earth are you getting this list???? not even close to correct
