NFL average is 9.6 inches, so he is about average EDIT: yea you are right...9.6 compared to 9.25 is a big difference...never been an NFL Pro Bowl QB with hands 9.25 and under, 9.251 has produced 4 pro bowlers, so he is cusp of statistical data -

So Oklahoma really didnt lie about his height any....decent showing Average NFL QB hands...not that freakishly large like other short QBs though (Wilson/Brees) -
Agreed. And its really 10 million for a possible place holding starter for them... On a team that has loads of cap space and wouldnt care about 10 million... To a team who has stated they want a proven NFL QB in the QB room... (I still don't think the trade we are looking at is with the Browns at 4 though, I would think 2 or 3 to ensure the QB we identify as being "The Guy")

Giants not likely to move away from Eli

I am a big fan of Cordy Glenn, big fan. I would hate to see him go, even with his injuries and potential for more, even with his big contract. THAT SAID, if we could get to number 2 by just trading our two firsts this year, Glenn and one of our seconds....I would do that in a heart beat. -
as long as they arent the stupid overly sweet milkshake IPAs full of lactose I would be ok....oh wait, we are trading these FOR gronk But really, No....huge injury question marks, recent questioning of his own commitment to football, huge !@#$....no thanks

I do agree about fixing/building the o-line over a RB....that is why this thread is dedicated to discussing late round RB options...are you THAT polish? : ) -

and then what is your plan for IF shady gets injured / hits the year 30 RB wall / in another year or two when Shady is done? Your solution just seems to be kick the can down the road or do what we did last year and bet all in on Shady....I think many of us here and hopefully the FO realize we need to address the RB position for now and the future... Above in the post I did mention addressing the RB spot in FA (possibly resigning Cadet) but we also need to add play makers on offense/ST and the RB position is certainly a way to do that via this draft -

my D 2 school comment was in jest....I know SD St is in the Mountain West...but the mountain west sucks at footballing Big question with Penny is: can his talent play in the NFL or is his production based on the poor level of Comp in college? -

exactly the info I was looking for, thanks! if you saw my earlier post regarding Penny, you would see that I really do want to like him and love the idea of being able to nab a potential future RB1 in the 3rd/4th round....but who he played against worries me. Highlights/game tape is full of him running around untouched And personally i think the MAC is better football than the Mountain West -

yea his lack of college production is what I was referring to when I asked "what is the deal" and "Why didnt he ever really produce"? I can see lack of use, and am wondering why....lack of hands eh? Seems like it would have to be more than that...Daboll should know best though -

What is Bo Scarborough's deal? 5 star recruit out of high school, big size and speed, huge land for Nick Saban, run oriented offense...why didn't he ever really produce/why isn't he a top notch NFL prospect? (time share? injury?) -

I want to really like Rashaad Penny as a 3rd round pick...BUT, who the hell has he played against? Toughest competition this season was Stanford and its not even close. Watch any game film/highlight reel and its mostly him running around untouched or breaking one arm tackle. This is loads different than what he will see in the NFL....but, I guess thats why he might be available in the 3rd/4th round and not a 1st/2nd rounder... I want to draft a RB, but I also want us to be active in FA to have at least two other legitimate backs in case Shady gets hurt and/or to spell him more frequently. The FA back doesnt need to be a world beater, but competency is required. Some FA: Rex Burkhead (probably resigned by NE) Dion Lewis (can NE afford both of these guys?) Damien Williams Orleans Darkwa Carlos Hyde Travaris Cadet (bring him back maybe) *I would guess whatever rookie RB we draft will have to contribute on special teams as well....Penny certainly does that with returning punts/kicks -
That is not at all how he compiles his rankings, he actually does the leg work, which makes him a better talent evaluator then other media pundits. My point was this: he is the best media talent evaluator out there, not necessarily a mocker, but talent evaluator so I tend to trust his thoughts on prospects more than others. BUT, he has a bad track record at the QB position
