  1. There are always exceptions. There are good pass rushers who aren't super fast, good CBs who don't have good size, etc. Beasley had already proven to be very good in the NFL. Again, I'm not saying Rondale Moore won't be good - undersized guys like Steve Smith and Desean Jackson have had success, but a lot of undersized guys and guys with injury history have had problems making it in the NFL as well. Taking Rondale Moore in round 1 feels like taking a nickel CB in round 1. Maybe it is a good idea, but I'd be a bit cautious there.
  2. injury and size concerns with him - not saying he couldn't be a consideration, but he does not fit all of the desired parameters.
  3. Well, yeah, all things being equal. However, if the available DEs aren't as good as the available CBs, shouldn't that change the equation? Crop of DTs is pretty weak in the draft - at least based on my reading and many of the available guys don't have the size that you are looking for.
  4. Thanks, I shouldn’t have been annoyed with the response.
  5. Didn’t need a condescending response, was looking for your opinion. I can and have read a lot for the last 30+ years of drafts.
  6. But who are the corners and how certain can you be that they are good prospects? Samuel is a good prospect with low-end size that may limit him to slot - similar thoughts on Mouldin, the two Georgia CBs have great tools, but limited film and production. Talk me into a great CB pick at 30 - I want to believe.
  7. The Bills will have to be very sharp in order to find any future starters in this draft - not criticism of the front office, just draft positions create major challenges.
  8. Bills are really in no-man’s land in this draft. Best positions available likely OT and interior OL, while needs (as they are) are weak positions in the draft (DE, DT). Whatever position they look at, this is likely the least well scouted class in many years considering opt-outs and limited schedules for many college teams. Hoping that Bills’ crack front office can forge an advantage in this odd year, but they are really disadvantaged given draft position and reported depth at positions of needs.
  9. Boat load of injuries in his career, too. Will he last 4 years in the league?
  10. I don’t know about that. I am not anti-Samuel, but you do have to wonder if he can play outside in the NFL or if he will be strictly a slot corner. If they think he can be good outside, then he should be a candidate at 30. If slot only, he would be a tough selection that high.
  11. Loved Winfield! Not sure Samuel is the physical tackler that Winfield was, but your point is well taken.
  12. Agreed on Oweh - no improvement and he will be lucky to make it past year two.
  13. Gunner - I think we are aligned on Oweh. How do you see Ossai vs. Perkins, Tryon or Ojulari? I know Daniel Jeremiah likes Tryon and Ojulari.
  14. I don’t think that Weaver has much potential as a pass rusher.
  15. I am not saying that Mac Jones won’t be a good NFL QB, but I’m pretty sure that any NFL backup would have looked good with all that talent as well. He was paying (this year) with he 2nd and 3rd rated WRs in the draft - both sure first rounders, #1 or 2 RB in draft, and 2 top 2 round picks on the OL. Of course, he could still be very good, but it makes for difficult analysis of Jones.
  16. Totally understand, I used to enjoy doing mocks as well.
  17. I really enjoy reading your draft analysis- you clearly invest a lot of time and effort - much appreciated!
  18. Did Ja’Marr Chase get arrested or fail a drug test? 😀 I guess that Ossai is as good an option as Bills will have available, they are really in no mans land at 30 looking for DE or CB. With what will be available at those positions, they have to at least consider other positions even if the need isn’t that big.
  19. The comparison between Barmore and Dareus goes beyond both being from Alabama. Barmore was inconsistent on an extremely talented Bama D. He turned it on big-time for the playoffs- that is both good and worrisome. When Dareus wanted to play, he was great. Barmore is pretty young, so maybe he improves his consistency, but as well as he played last two games of 2020, he’d be a top 10 pick if there weren’t significant concerns about consistency/effort. I think it is a bit wishful thinking that picking late in each round in a weak draft fo DT, DE and TE that you will find 3 good players at those positions in this draft.
  20. Unfortunately, I don’t see a lot to really like at 1T or DE this year. Team needs don’t correlate with strong draft groups this year. IMO, better to take best players available at positions of lesser need than to force fit so-so prospects into need areas.
  21. Out of curiosity, what do you see in him that makes you believe that? I like his aggression and he looks to be a good prospect, but after watching him against Clemson and Alabama this year, I am not sure that he is a great LT prospect. I still think he can go late 1st/anywhere in 2nd. Bills’ are sitting in a position where they will really have to show their scouting acumen to make good selections.
  22. .03 seconds is within measurement error for sure. I think there is too much emphasis on these 40 times. Anything in the 4.4-4.5 range is VERY fast. Easy to believe .1 - .2 seconds is a function of the start and that is really not a football move - more more a track skill.
  23. Agree, it seems that you should add .1 seconds or more to the pro-day times to compare to normal combine times.
  24. I won’t say that I don’t want the Bills to draft him if they believe it is a good pick, but other than workout numbers, I don’t see why Jayson Oweh is considered a potential 1st round pick. I watched all his snaps against Ohio State, Michigan and Nebraska from 2020 and I hardly saw him flash that outstanding athleticism and he wasn’t often generating much pass rush (that was evident to me). I saw some of his field drills from his pro day and he either has improved since the end of his season or that ability doesn’t (yet) translate. I know that he is inexperienced in football having first played as a HS Jr. For those that understand more of watching the film than I do, what am I missing? It seems to me that a team that drafts him will be betting that they can coach him up considerably and to my untrained eyes, he didn’t look like he would see the field much this season.
  25. That is along the lines of my point. You might find a very few athletes like him.
