They wanted to add a physical power running element to their offense which is helpful in cold weather, short yardage/goal line, in the 4th with a lead, or against quicker defenses. They had the right idea, just the wrong player. Poor Jim Irsay. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Well as of right now we draft 6th
Rob's House replied to Kellyto83TD's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I mocked Murray in the 4th, not him. I don't claim the prediction's right. I based round placement on projections from 3 different draft sites. This time last year Tayvon Austin was projected to go in the 3rd, so take it with a grain of salt. It's just for fun. -
I'm not sold on EJ yet either, but let's be fair. Fitz was turning the ball over himself late in the 4th, not completing clutch passes to receivers who subsequently fumble the ball.

You're right, it's not. There were a whole lot of us that got really excited when they announced we had traded up b/c obviously we were going to take Wilson, only to get smacked in the face with TJ Who? That's a top 5 worst Bills memory ever for me, & given this team's track record that's saying something. -

Supposing we're in the 8-10 range, this is what I'd like to see Rd 1: Mike Evans - WR (6'5" 225 lb.) - TAMU Rd 2: Gabe Jackson - OG (6'3' 340 lb.) - MS St Rd 3 Carlos Hyde - RB (6'0" 235 lb.) - OSU Rd 4 Aaron Murray - QB (6' 1" 210 lb) - GA Rd 5 Juwuan James - OT (6'6" 325 lb) - TN Rd 6 Colt Lyerla - TE (6'5" 250 lb.) - OR Rd 7 Kevin Norwood - WR (6' 1" 205 lb) - AB -
I don't have any idea whether they cheated or not in this game, but I find it interesting how many people here dismiss the notion out of hand as if the mere suggestion were patently absurd. We know they've done it before. Is it really that far of a stretch to think they might have found another way to do it?

I've been a kool ade drinking homer for a long time, but I think I'm done with that. The excuse that we weren't supposed to be that good with a rookie coach and QB rings hollow right about now. If this were week 5 and we just lost to a good team I might agree, but that's not what happened. I didn't expect them to win out, but knowing every game going forward from here was effectively a playoff game, and trying to turn the corner, they get stopped in the first !@#$ing game? This was their biggest game of the year and they couldn't even manage to knock off a team that came in sporting the worst record in in the NFL. And that rookie **** means a lot less 3/4 of the way through the season. I know EJ missed a few games along the way, but that's no excuse. This is just another in a long line of games where the Bills proved they have talent but no heart. There are a few players on this team that do, particularly Fred Jackson, but as a collective bunch they're sorry.

Honestly, in this situation the Bills should have won anyway. But that doesn't excuse the bad officiating. Often times I attribute our perception of unfair officiating to selective recognition. But having watched a lot of football over the last few years, I can't think of any other team I've seen either lose games, or lose a shot at winning games, on ticky tack or phantom calls as often as the Bills. Maybe it's bad luck, maybe we get shwag crews, or maybe the refs hold a grudge against Ralph and the Bills for walking off the field with an xp to kick, or Ralph's complaint to the league, I don't know. For whatever reason, the Bills seem to get a disproportionate number of game changing lousy calls.

I know you know we've had some good times, but now they have their own hiding place.

Question for everyone....
Rob's House replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Depends on where they moved, but probably. What's the alternative? Stop watching football? Start cheering for a new team? -
I'd target H Nicks, E Decker, & D Pitta.

Who wants to apologize to Jairus Byrd?
Rob's House replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You know you're right. I got too wrapped up in this situation and for that I want to apologize; not to Byrd or any of you, because I don't owe you anything, but to myself, because I want to enjoy myself as much as possible and somewhere along the line I lost sight of that; for that I am sorry. -
Nailed it. I liked the show when it first came out, but I hadn't for several seasons when my wife and eye watched an episode from around 2010. That **** was God awful. We both kept looking at each other in disgust - horrified, not because the content was offensive, but because we couldn't believe anyone would find it even mildly amusing, much less distribute it for the entertainment of others. I wondered if the show had just gone all to hell, or if it always sucked and I was just too stoned to notice back then, so I pulled up the first season on Netflix. Sure enough, it was funny. Most shows fall off after a few seasons, but this one went over the cliff and took a dive. I've seen a few other episodes since that one and I can't figure how this garbage is still on the air.

Jameis Winston on track to be just like Big Ben?
Rob's House replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in College Football
All you've shared in this thread is that you have some kind of agenda that is particular to you with regards to this topic, and you apparently live in an ivory tower. I assume in that tower all sex is prohibited after 3 drinks. -
He seems like a solid all around player, but I'm not sure that he brings much to the table that we don't more or less have in Chandler. He'd probably be a slight upgrade, but I'd rather bring in a more athletic option.

I don't recall much in the way of character attacks until he claimed he was hurt. As far as the player always being the bad guy, it sounds like selective recognition. There are half-wits that automatically take the side of the player, about an equal number of half-wits who automatically take the side of the organization, and the rest take it on a case by case basis. Can you honestly say you're in the 3rd category? -
I read somewhere that he's going back to school for another year. Not sure if it's true.

The police could have a defensible position here, it's really hard to say based on what's come out. The news depicts the police telling the girl that he's a big deal to the school, and that it's a big college town, as though they were trying to encourage her to !@#$ off. While that may be the case, it's entirely possible, likely even, that they were simply making sure she knew what she was getting into for her own sake. Once something like this blows up, the police can't do a thing to help her from the media firestorm and potential notoriety that comes with it. It would actually be irresponsible of them not to give her fair warning regarding the situation she'd be facing. -

I will have to say, getting a guy off a rape charge is a pretty big favor. BTW, I dig your word usage It's the way of the world. Pick a side, then wait for the evidence to prove you're right. I almost started a thread yesterday to say I was proud of people for not jumping the gun on this. -

Ebron from NC, and Seffarian-Jenkins from WA are the two big names in this draft.
