  1. I want this to be right. I know some people are noticing but I think most are not paying much attention. I feel better about the Bills chances of playoffs than I do the political outlook of the country.
  2. I hear he'd been taking the dude's lunch money.
  3. Fair or not, the tea bagger brand is tarnished. The left has successfully drawn an association in the minds of the masses between Tea baggers and the most uptight, stuffy, socially conservative segments of the Republican party. If I were advising a R candidate I'd tell him to keep the stated tea bagger agenda, but drop the moniker.
  4. Nothing builds credit like spending money you don't have.
  5. I expect many will say "good for him," but I think he's a real jerk off. He made a committment and was well paid for it, and now he up and quits mid- season leaving his team w/o O-line depth while they're in the midst of a SB run. There's no honor in that. Play out the season and then retire. I'm sure they'd have found better depth had they known he wouldn't be around.
  6. Renaissance? Is that French?
  7. Let me remedy that for you, you damn dirty carpet baggin Yankee.
  8. Actually, it's my state, you just live here.
  9. Typical liberal thinking. Your theory is that if it hadn't happened the way it did it wouldn't have happened at all. Reconstruction & New Deal were both contrived and botched and neither left the South better off.
  10. Is this one of those "9/11 was good for the economy" arguments?
  11. If you'd left out the winks and "/sarcasm" you'd have just made a friend of Gatorman.
  12. We're on the same page here. I don't like anything about it. My point was that even if the money was funneled directly and exclusively to the schools I'm still opposed to it - not because I personally would have a problem paying it, but because there's no logical connection between eating out and schools, and therefore, no reason why people who eat out should be disproportionately responsible for funding the schools (or the government generally, for that matter). Correct. All these candy ass commies pack their carpet bags and head south to escape their northern shitholes, and bring with them the malignant politics that rendered their hometowns inhospitable land fills, and turn our glorious southern states into **** heaps as well. If we lived in a sane world, Yankees wouldn't be allowed to vote in decent southern folks' states.
  13. Both candidates were damaged. Do you know why VA has gone blue?
  14. That's the one that burns me up. I don't mind paying it b/c I have a kid in school, but on principle I don't get why the burden of funding schools should fall disproporionately on those who eat out. Makes no sense to me.
  15. This is the last I'll say on the topic, at least for now, but it's not what you say, but how you say it. He probably never had to learn how to stand up to a bully b/c he probably never got picked on. I have been picked on and learned how to deal with bullies. Now it seems obvious to me, but I had to learn and develop that strength and ability that apparently Martin & many here never did.
  16. I never suggested fighting. You can stand up to a bully without it getting physical. It just requires addressing him as an assertive man rather than a whining boy.
  17. I find it curious that some of you feel compelled to argue that the stronger person is the one who let the other guy drive him out of his job and off his team, and the weaker guy is the one that ran him off? I don't see it. A strong man, strike that, a man (period) would put that mother!@#$er in his place or do what was necessary to put a stop to it. Only a coward would turn tail and run like that. I suppose your sympathy for the guy makes you want to take up for him (I feel sorry for him too), and people tend to want to glorify victims (and I think Martin is pretty clearly a victim) but let's be honest, anyone in that position that lets another guy treat him like that and run him off the team is a kitty. Going AWOL and quitting the team isn't the mature, strong, or assertive way of handling that situation, it's the kitty way. A lot of this excuse making sounds like the bullied who never stood up to the bully defending someone else whose behavior mirrors their own.
  18. I feel sorry for Martin because he's weak, and I have sympathy for weak people who get bullied and don't have what it takes to stand up for themselves, but I also question whether he has the mental toughness to play in the NFL. And while I don't have sympathy for bullies it seems that b/c Martin was too big a kitty to stick up for himself, RI's actions are being amplified and blown out of proportion. I don't like bullies, but I'd wager RI's behavior in this case isn't that much worse than what you'd find in half the locker rooms around the league.
  19. Favre should do it. If he were to win the SB it would be legendary. If he sucks no one would hold it against him on account of age & time away from the game.
  20. TO had the audacity to say what he thought (ex. "I love me some me") instead of sticking to the BS PC lines everyone else regurgitates, (ex. "I just want to help this team win games.")
  21. Not having Randy Moss to throw to anymore is what ruined Culpepper's career.
  22. Let me be clear. My comments are not exclusively directed at those who have posted in this thread. I first heard about this on sports talk radio & that was the angle they went with. I've heard it from others since. I haven't read the whole thread, but I'm glad to hear the discourse has been more enlightened than what I've heard elsewhere.
  23. That may be true. The first I heard of it was in that context. Don't get me wrong, calling people 1/2 !@#$s is a dick move, (can you imagine the outrage if he'd called him a full blown n-word) I just find it funny that we as a society find that more offensive than willfully trying to break a guy's ankles.
  24. The only piece missing right now is QB. A better TE, LG, & power back would be nice, but above average QB play alone would have us over .500 right now.
