  1. When I watch EJ play, it blows my mind that professional football coaches and talent scouts look at what I'm looking at and see someone they think can be the franchise. I see and awkward and stiff guy with little fluidity, who doesn't seem to have a feel for the game, is too timid to make the throws he needs to make, and lacks the accuracy to put the ball there even if he does muster up the courage to pull the trigger. And this isn't an overreaction to a horrid, horrid game. I was suggesting these things last week and getting blasted for it.
  2. What are these needs you speak of? I know there are a few areas where I'd like upgrades, but the worst position on this team by far is QB, which is also the most important, therefore 3-7.
  3. Manziel wouldn't be my first choice, and I agree, he might well be a bust. But then, he could be the next Doug Flutie. I'd feel better about the possibility that he represents than what I've seen on the field this year. We all put a lot more stock in Manuel than we would have had the Bills not picked him. (Except for 1BillsFan who crusaded for weeks for the guy). Most of the sports world said he was a risk and a reach. It's looking like they were right. Who knows, maybe at some point it'll just click for him and he'll be awesome, I just don't see it. I can't put my finger on what it is; but there's just something missing from his game. It actually reminds me of Trent Edwards. He's a big Trent Edwards, with a tan, that can run.
  4. You have to go with EJ for the rest of the year no matter how bad he sucks, unless it's so bad that you already know you're going to cut bait. Gotta either find out if he can develop and play better. If not you let him play his way out of the starting lineup.
  5. That's kind of the point. You have seen EJ face NFL competition. I'd start Manziel too.
  6. Man, lighten up a little. You're being very un-dude.
  7. Regardless of how he ranks among NFL prospects, if you had both Manziel and EJ on the roster, and your only priority is winning the next game, who would you start? honestly?
  8. Depends on who's available when. I don't want to burn a high pick on RB this year, or usually ever, but for this guy I might be willing to make an exception. To my eye he's a very rare specimen.
  9. I know he's not coming out this year, but this kid is sick. Could be the next great back. http://m.youtube.com/index?&desktop_uri=%2F#/watch?v=VdG-9goRxNU
  10. I actually wouldn't mind Hogan in the later rounds. I doubt he'd ever be a top flight QB, but he could be an ideal long term b/u. He's big & smart, and pretty mobile for a big dude, doesn't make a lot of mistakes, & has enough arm that Ds have to at least consider the deep ball. That's exactly what you want if you've got a good run game and D & your QB just got hurt.
  11. Where is this theory that a GOP candidate needs to appease the "far right" coming from? I don't know if you guys forgot, but the last two Republican presidential nominees were John McCain and Mitt Romney - Pretty much the two most "moderate" candidates in either primary. Oh yeah, and they both lost, which tells me that all these d-bags that say "I'd vote for a Republican if they'd nominate someone more moderate" are all full of ****. They're a bunch of libs that are too f'n pu$$y to admit they're libs because they want to front like they're objective when the truth is they just lack integrity. I prefer a straight up commie to this crowd. Say what you will about Birdog. he may be ridiculous but at least he's not afraid to tell you who he is, and there's a lot to be said for that. I'm not sure about his chances. Do we know if he has a horse?
  12. He really is an inspiration.
  13. Is it too early to declare Martin a hero?
  14. It means you're like, erudite, man.
  15. ...and this Chateau le blanc '68 is supposed to be served slightly chilled, and this is room temperature.
  16. I agree with you, I'm just not sure what your point is.
  17. It's somewhat mitigating, but I still say he made a deal and baled on his responsibility. Whether I want him on the job is irrelevant to my assessment of his character.
  18. It's sounding more & more like this is all about Martin being a fragile little flower who couldn't handle the normal back & forth that goes on in a typical NFL locker room.
  19. You're treating dissimilar situations as though they were similar. A football player is basically and employee who signs a contract to complete a 17-21 week project. There is a possibility that circumstances may arise where the project manager may have to replace the contractor, but the contractor gets paid for the full project regardless. And if I contracted you to a 17-21 week project, you agreed, and then up and quit midway through while I still had potential need of your services, then yes, I'd say you were a jerk off too.
  20. This story is starting to remind me of the Trayvon Martin case in that a story breaks, a little bit of evidence gets out, simple minded dipshits take extremely strong stances on the issue, then when evidence emerges that runs contrary to their theory they fight like hell to defend the theory they came up with when they really didn't know ****.
  21. I don't know about the rest of you, but I decided that Martin was a strong, manly victim of severe bullying the second I heard the report about the voicemail and no amount of evidence to the contrary is going to change my mind. Ever.
  22. I'm picking the Steelers because even though they're one of the worst teams in the league & have only won 1 game all year, they used to be good & that still counts for something.
