  1. Nothing but boy scouts for this team.
  2. I don't get the supposedly level headed crowd. I'm usually willfully optimistic, but I'm not sure what you have to feel good about here. I felt better about Gailey's first year when we started 0-8. At least you could see the team get better as the year went on. All this team does is get worse.
  3. You just put yourself on even ground with those claiming he's a bust already. You're just taking the opposite extreme.
  4. There are some, not saying you're one of them, that have become insufferable on the issue.
  5. The EJ apologists will do better if they keep it simple and quit spewing bull **** all over the board. If you say he's still green & might yet develop into a good QB then you can maintain some credibility, but these excuses are getting nauseating. The next time I read "HE'S A ROOKIE" I may vomit on my screen. Thanks for that gem, but somehow I figured that out. If he weren't, half the fanbase would want him cut yesterday. As is, MOST are only suggesting a back up plan. And what's with the guy's claiming a 9-12 game sample is meaningless? This has got to be the dumbest thing that gets tossed around here (although comparing EJ's stats to stats from the 1980s is certainly in the running). That sample doesn't tell you everything, but it tells you a hell of a lot. To listen to half the crowd around here, that sample tells the staff nothing more than they knew on day 1. If that's true your coaching staff should be shot (or at least fired). Do yourselves a favor and accept the truth. EJ might yet turn the corner, but there's plenty of valid evidence that suggests there's a good likelihood he won't.
  6. I must say, I'm impressed that most of our resident liberals seem to understand that changing minimum wage to $15/hr over night is !@#$ing stupid.
  7. Tell us about his Nobel Prize and how it relates to the content of the article.
  8. Who's the girl in the avatar? Same question.
  9. First off, I think everyone knows that song. Secondly, my wife is 26 and listens to top 40 radio so I'm exposed to all that ****.
  10. What the hell does that mean?
  11. Maclemore's a wet kitty. He's really outraged by all of the conventional PC isms. I don't know if he's just trying to construct an image as the most socially concerned mother!@#$er to ever walk the planet, or if he actually believes his own bull ****, but what I do know is that he's a first class douche bag.
  12. I don't mean to call you out, but I'm pretty sure that was the Germans.
  13. I'm not as concerned about current debt levels as much as projected debt levels should we continue to expand these programs. I'm curious at what point you would consider debt, as a % of GDP, to be a problem. I'm also assuming you don't attribute any of our current economic stagnation to the debt. To your second point, I will concede that often a large portion of the Republican party and its followers focus too much on marginal shifts in tax rates without giving due consideration to the other side of the equation. I don't expect anyone with this POV to ever diverge from this belief, but make no mistake, what you've asserted here is a belief. I would say that most economists disagree with your conclusion, but since I haven't surveyed all economists on the issue I'll just say that what you've asserted is far from being a consensus view.
  14. What struck me is the apparent lack of accountability. Stevie claiming the early turnover didn't matter, and Boner blaming the O-line's performance on being down early, both are signs of a mentality that prevents people from getting better. I was a little surprised to hear that from Stevie, very dissappointed to hear it from Boner.
  15. So your theory is that our government can spend as much as it wants on whatever seems a worth while cause, and disregard the debt because it doesn't matter and we'll all be better off for it?
  16. I don't want to turn this into an EJ thread because God knows we have enough of those, but to answer your question, He wasn't awful, and I don't hang the loss on him, but it wasn't very good either. I give him credit for a couple of clutch throws late, but for the first 55 minutes of that game he did very little. I liked the mock that was up on Drafttek today. Love the idea of Beckum and Mettenberger, especially where you picked them. It's not exactly where I'd have gone, but I'd be stoked if that's how it turns out in May.
  17. Shaub was never as good as his stats, and isn't now as bad as his reputation. If Shaub was the only problem with the Texans, and they really were a solid team otherwise, it seems they might have at least won a single game since he got pulled. If he came at a reasonable price you could do a lot worse for a veteran QB. He'd be the best QB to sport a Bills uni this century.
  18. Rs can't tell you what they're going to cut & Ds can't tell you where they're going to get the money they've promised to spend. Interestingly, the left always comes down on the issue of fiscal responsibility as greedy & mean spirited while spending yourself into ruinous debt is the height of compassion.
  19. I agree with everything you said except your last sentence. I think a solid QB and upgrade at any one of the following: TE, WR, LG; and a winning attitude puts us in the playoffs.
  20. I'm hoping we don't draft Barr. He seems too easily handled by offensive linemen. I know he's got talent, but I'd be afraid it won't translate to the NFL. When I watch Mack I see a big physical presence. When I see Barr he's just a guy.
  21. Since we're wishing here: I assume we'll pick in the top 5 which will likely give us an opportunity to trade down and get another 2nd. Do that. Then: Draft a top G: David Yankey seems to be the consensus top pick, and I'm fine with that, but La'el Collins from LSU also brings a nice blend of size, power, and athletecism, and might still be available in the 2nd. I like the idea of a big bodied mauler like Gabe Jackson or Cyril Richardson, but I'm tempted to sacrifice some of that weight for the ability to pull and get out to the second level more quickly. Collins and Yankey are both bigger and stronger than Levitre. Draft a WR/TE: This is where I'm looking in the first. My favorites are Mike Evans and Marquis Lee in that order. I like both of these guys more than the TEs, problem is, Lee doesn't give us the big physical target we need, and there's a lot more depth at WR than TE this year, so if I can't get Evans I may take Amaro if he's available (possibly over Lee). ASJ could be a value pick in the second. If I go TE or get Lee/Watkins/Beckhum/etc. I may go after a big WR in FA (H. Nicks, E. Decker). The ideal situation would add a big TE AND a big WR. With 2 big targets to go with our small speed guys, we'd be a matchup nightmare for everyone. Draft a QB: While I agree it's too early to declare EJ a bust, if 3 games from now we haven't seen significant improvement from the last 2 it won't be too early for thinking people to realize it would be irresponsible to go into next season with him as the only starting option at QB. Taking a QB in Rd 3 makes a lot of sense. There are a lot of guys who have been projected as 1st rounders at some point over the last 12 months, and I'd bet at least one of those guys is available when we pick in the 3rd (Z Mettenberger, J Manzelli, T Boyd, A Murray, A McCarron) - I'd take any of these guys at that spot. That would give us QB depth, and also a young guy with potential learning the system so if and when we bail on EJ we've got a potential replacement in training. Picking a QB in the 3rd also wouldn't preclude us from taking one in the 1st in 2015 if the opportunity is there. And if EJ defies the odds and learns to be awesome, there're worse things than having a quality young b/u QB. Note: If I can't get any of the QBs mentioned in the 3rd, I take a stab at Bryn Renner in the 7th - He showed promise before getting injured. Him or Tyler Russell from MS State - Can't really explain it, there's just something about the way he carries himself.
  22. You just answered your own question.
  23. Refs just gifted a win to the Pats. Officiating is becoming a serious problem in the league.
