  1. You guys are really stiff. Y'all should go hang out with warwow at the Humorless Cafe. Maybe you can take in a viewing of White Men Can't Jump while you're there.
  2. So are you saying I've been wasting my money on Extenzze?
  3. That's not quite how it happened, but whatever. The point is, you watching football is like a white guy listening to Gladys Knight & the Pimps.
  4. Lighten up, dude. Hyperbole was the point. Besides, it's honestly not too far off the mark. STOP MAKING FUN OF US!!!
  5. WTF do you mean "room for improvement." So now Kiko sucks too? You're unbelievable. Let me tell you something mother !@#$er, his stat sheet shows he has a lot of tackles. That means his technic is flawless. Not only that, he's a legend. Chuck Norris apologizes when he bumps into Kiko. The boogie man has nightmares about him. Don't you !@#$ing dare insinuate that our porous run D is in any way attributable to our MLB. God, you negative nancy's are down on everyone.
  6. I find this line of thought not only flawed, but also repellent. You're asserting that all should defer to authority, and the basis of the deferment is that someone has a job for which their judgment on this matter is of the highest importance. But if that person fails miserably isn't it entirely possible that their judgment was not what their employer believed it to be when making the hire? Further, often times we're talking about player evaluation and game philosophies. You and I can see what the player on the field is doing. We may not know exactly how it all fits in to the coach's plan, but it's not like we're listening to a complex lecture on nuclear physics and have to have DC Tom explain it to us. Dave Wannstedt was an NFL HC and DC. Does that mean he knows what's what when it comes to running a defense? Should everyone should shut up and defer to him because he's the professional? Especially for this franchise which has seen multiple professionals come in, make boneheaded decisions that the bulk of fans disagreed with, only for those fans to be proven right, it would seem obvious that official position does not equate to competence. When Maybin gets picked and half the fanbase is pulling their hair out over it, that suggests the fans might see something the coaching staff doesn't. To be fair, you didn't take this argument as far as some, but this post was an opportunity to address the issue. Someone last week asked how a poster could question these professionals with their life times of experience. The way I see it, rookie GM, rookie HC, and a rookie OC don't bring a whole lot of NFL experience at their respective positions to the table, Just sayin.
  7. When talking about whether the problem is Spiller or how he's being used I'm reminded of Reggie Bush going from the Saints to the Dolphins and suddenly finding success, while Sproles moved from SD to NO and suddenly found success. Both had made some plays before, but it wasn't until they found a change of scenery that suited them did either fulfill their potential.
  8. His strength is that he's a high motor guy who flies all over the field with reckless abandon. His weakness is that he lacks physical strength and gets overpowered at the point of attack with great regularity. That and he's not a very good tackler. Maybe not the worst tackler, but there's definitely a lot of room for improvement. Hopefully an off season in the weight room and some coaching can fix that. If so he could be a real force. If not he needs some solid run stoppers playing around him.
  9. I've noticed CJ has become something of a whipping boy of late. The more I watch the more I disagree with his detractors. That's not to say he doesn't have his shortcomings or that he hasn't missed some holes, but what he does well he does better than anyone the the NFL. He runs the plays that are called and often the play is dead before he even touches the ball. On a lot of his plays there is an unblocked defender in the backfield preventing any cutbacks and the blocking in front of him breaks down leaving him nowhere to run. But when he gets a little crease he cuts and weaves and turns nothing into something like no one since Barry Sanders. Despite sub-par blocking, nagging injuries, and having a lot of impressive runs called back this year, he's still put up respectable yardage and is averaging 4.6 ypc, which may not be earth shattering, but it's not too shabby either. The man deserves more respect than he gets from the fans IMO.
  10. That play was mainly on the linebackers, specifically Manny Lawson and Kiko Alonso. That DT (I thought it was Branch, but may have been Charles) was engaged with the C and got pushed to his right by the RG, then fought his way back and made a strong effort to reach out and make the tackle as he went down. Lawson could have filled that gap, but for some reason took an awful angle and ran up the ass of the DE which made it ridiculously easy for the FB to block him out of the play. Kiko could have made a play, or at least slowed it down, but he got owned by the RG. After he split the LBs Robinson ran past Byrd like he was standing still.
  11. It was a joke, Francis. Why don't you take a deep breath and blow it out your ass.
  12. My point was that they could have gotten a better player for $8m/yr. The fact that they didn't bothers me, but it is the fact they didn't use the money on any player, rather than the fact that they didn't use it on Levitre, that bothers me. I heard Levitre was house shopping in the suburbs and they didn't want that element in the locker room.
  13. No argument here. I'm not satisfied with how they managed that aspect of the off-season at all. My complaint is that they didn't put the money they saved by not signing Levitre toward advancing the team.
  14. Following up a big mistake by duplicating it isn't using good judgment. Throwing a long term contract like TN did at Levitre would not have been a wise move. I fully agree that the team should have and could have found a better replacement for LG, and I understand the continuity on the Oline argument, but If you're going to drop that kind of coin on a player you should get a lot more return on your investment than Andy Levitre.
  15. The opposite of up is 12, therefore banana.
  16. I've said it before & I'll say it again: TJ Graham gets wide open all day every day. It's hard to judge his hands when the ball rarely comes his way. We'll find out if he can play after he's run out of town & goes to NE.
  17. Give it a rest. Yes, it's nice the team won. It's nice EJ showed some improvement. But stop acting like we just won the !@#$ing division. We beat a team that's won a grand total of 2 games against teams not named the Texans, who were playing 3rd and 4th stringers at offensive "skill" positions, committed 4 turnovers, and we won by 1 score. A win's a win and I'll take it, but let's not go sucking each others' d***s off just yet.
  18. Chicago traded Orton and 2 firsts for Cutler, they never played on the same team. Jake Plummer was the QB in Denver when Cutler was drafted. Cutler took his job.
  19. Because he gets open with great regularity
  20. That statistic without context is utterly meaningless - good for propaganda though. Are we comparing $ spent on cosmetic surgery and knee replacements in America to $ spent on life saving surgery? Also, is it possible that a great portion of the the disparity is due to the amount of money spent on end of life care that is not extended to old folks in other countries?
  21. Ha! I know some of y'all were cussin Robey too. Don't deny it.
  22. I love the decision to throw right there. See if he sinks or swims. It looks like EJ's not going down w/o a fight.
  23. Apparently if you expected this team to look better in in weeks 13 and 14 than it did in weeks 2 and 3 your expectations were unrealistic.
  24. I realize how cynical I've become when my first thought is that yes, he is exactly what this team needs, and no, I don't think we'll draft him even if he's available in the 4th.
