  1. Terrible sequence by the lions. wont matter but incomplete, run out of bounds and a sack while running out the clock is criminal
  2. I think that’s not a terribly unfair comparison - good guy, well liked, hard worker, and has a spot in the league but not the guy for this roster or scheme. because he is a wr instead of running back the pay is also about 5-10x, which makes it even worse to sign on for a veteran contract. He’s a guy a team with a rookie qb can splurge on as part of a 3 WR platoon that costs too much for us
  3. And we may soon see Jordan Addison in Minnesota join those ranks the lions have invested in creating that dynamic. tampa has been that type of team Heck, if not for Russ, sutton/jeudy could be an interesting pair as having a high end WR2. It hasn’t worked out but it’s certainly the plan.
  4. ultimately, at what moment does anyone here say “it’s gabe Davis time” he’s the deep threat that can’t outrun guys hes the big body that isn’t a reliable 3rd down move the chains target he’s not a bum that doesn’t belong in the league but he’s kind of a tweener that’s not particularly good at any identifiable role or skill set
  5. “if they don’t like him they could cut him or make him inactive or not throw to him” as a wr2 -ie top 64 wr- that he is down at 66 in targets on a passing offense that is top 10 in plays run and passes thrown might indicate to you that they are limiting their play design to him. They aren’t scheming up gabe, they are letting people forget gabe.
  6. and I’m arguing that he’s been running past guys deep a lot less often since his big KC game because he’s not fast enough to be a consistent deep threat.
  7. agreed. Predictable times are a blessing and early Sunday is by far the least impactful on the work week. roll those on Monday or Thursday and it blows up two business days. At least Sunday is free pre game
  8. has it struck you yet that he’s not getting the targets because Josh and Dorsey might like him less than you? to be an established WR2 on a team that runs a top 5-10 play volume (and passing volume) and be 66th in targets is in and of itself a red flag.
  9. Unfortunately his measurables don’t match what you are saying and his tape doesnt show a burner deep frankly. his agility measurables are very low for a guy in the league and we see that pretty consistently in his play specifically.
  10. so, essentially, he was previously salty… accepted the invite and intentionally created a dramatic/embarrassing moment instead of addressing the underlying issue at the start? honestly, a soap opera but makes more sense than what takes is portraying
  11. and when people start saying that 3 games after saying he was incompetent and coaches were hesitant to give him the job- it’s probably sell high territory ala Trent, or fitz, or… he has had a good run. I think odds are some regression. Who knows but that’s common sense.
  12. the bills don’t have the luxury of paying a guy that hasn’t stepped up 8 figures a year.
  13. yea, I want to cheer for him. Seems like a good enough guy and the type you’d like to see succeed - even beyond the fact that we have the need… but he just isn’t naturally gifted at the job when compared to guys who are top 64 at it. Doesn’t have short or long speed. Doesn’t have exceptional hands. Even his long TD this week wasn’t particularly fluid or skilled as an example of success despite the challenges instead of success because of high skills. He’s not a bum or lazy or anything. He just seems to be a tier or two higher than his natural skill set would normally warrant.
  14. The pick to gabe was a punt that could turn into PI on 3rd and 20 Im great with that and would encourage Gabe to worry less about playing defense and more about trying to draw a foul because it’s the rare time that OPI or an interception dont matter at all. Go make a play towards the ball not the defender.
  15. bengals are streakier than they should be for their talent level.
  16. you celebrated mediocrity for decades. I’m sure you are beyond your wildest expectations right now. sure would’ve been nice to be a little better at a few things the last couple years and maybe gotten a parade or two.
  17. Maybe they’d be first with the extra tool?
  18. that and Davis is not particularly athletic. So if you have diggs and Knox out there plus diggs… It’s just not a particularly agile or blazing group though tua is getting more air yards/attempt too… https://www.fantasypros.com/nfl/advanced-stats-qb.php
  19. that we haven’t in a couple of play calls doesn’t mean it’s not there or they haven’t seen it. That said, it’s not a terribly unfair argument you make either.
  20. I’m even fine with playing to exceptional skill sets like hartys agility and short space speed but I think a lot of this loops back to identity. I also think they should give cook some touches down there just because he’s been such a hot hand. I think he could slip in and then also I think you have to reward him with one at soooooomepoint, right?
  21. I think it was pretty clear they thought the formula to win yesterday was score 20 and don’t give any short fields. How much you can lean on that in this league is a question mark. Letting bad teams hang around within two scores can be trouble though I’d be curious the analytics of it. that said, they did reference Josh playing like he had to outscore Rodgers instead of Wilson in the jets game which was a point I made several times in the aftermath when talking about no one being in his ear.
  22. Because it’s intentionally trolling
  23. I’m not even sure what you are really talking about. The minimal attention and light joking about her being at 1 game?
  24. that’s salary so just prorate game checks to get your number
