  1. that’s salary so just prorate game checks to get your number
  2. the defense is certainly passable and if you add back Miller in a meaningfully close to peak form it becomes not just passable for a contender but an asset
  3. as much as anything I’d guess situational more than getting rhythms the guy getting the 1st and 10 carry in a slightly pass heavy offense is going to like have both a higher YPC but also more touches than the specialty back for short yardage or a guy that isn’t able to be in on passing downs. you put the short yardage guy in more scenarios their YPC will go up based on more favorable opportunities not just more opportunities
  4. it’s easy to run when on a bad team that is behind and the defense is just avoiding big plays? here in buff he was often a short yardage back or guy getting carries in more obvious rushing downs?
  5. nor do you see him as a guy that wants to quit or be fired a season or two before breaking the record I bet so something may have to give in that, even if mostly behind the scenes
  6. it is difficult to take that power, it would be easily possible to cede that power.
  7. Herbert has absolutely not entered into 3rd best talk. Hurts has. currently I think the tiers are pretty consistently: mahomes burrow-Allen-hurts lawrence-lamar-tua herbert floating back and forth here Dak-cousins sure you can find knee jerk people to support any opinion on any individual guy for attention and clicks (and I’m sure in randomly shooting this out I didn’t include everyone off the cuff) but generally there’s not a ton of widespread divergence from roughly that these days And I don’t think that’s a terribly unfair area for herbert these days. Top 10 but not top 5? almost no one doing genuine commentary is truly arguing that. Guys trying to manufacture hot takes for attention are the only ones and not even that many of them are taking the stance. There are likely more flat earthers than Herbert over Allen takes.
  8. last year both Allen and Williams were hurt as well as Herbert himself. that made up a lot of his 50 game career
  9. the expectation that every qb has to be a top 3 to be good is a bit of a challenge in these discussions too…
  10. Honestly, only sort of? Mccaffery is only on pace for 60 catches, ekeler had 107 last year the 9ers perimeter threats have a bit more vertical talent too
  11. I think the chargers have suffered from misaligned expectation based on fantasy football and such. as gunner noted - Allen and Williams are both talented players but a poor pairing of skill sets. Ekeler is back and backs don’t win games, generally. they don’t have a ton of true over the top explosive talent to create mismatches and adjust the defensive scheme. throw in bad coaching and you have a collection of talented players with mediocre results.
  12. that’s… I guess one answer you could go with….
  13. Lucky for you google is easily accessible
  14. don’t forget a checkered history
  15. The point, it flys right past you like a Josh Allen fast ball
  16. your right… all the good young qbs came out 3-6 years ago. None are currently coming out or will in the next few years.
  17. and in a few years, yet another will come around with an exciting rookie that plays fearless and well above his pay grade
  18. here’s where you’ve missed it: some other team will replace the bengals with a rookie contract qb lighting it up, just like the bengals backfilled the chiefs, and the eagles are backfilling that. we will be in the mature roster category and a pipeline of other teams will be in the best window they will ever have- and we will have to leap frog them its not just the bengals and chiefs in 3 years- it’s the team that is just starting to frame up today to make the run soon.
  19. unfortunately, you already exhibited enough patience to not realize we have already finished our greatest opportunity to win a championship and did so without a ring. from here we will be a contender as long as we have Josh but unless we hit a generational draft, or make a major shift in coaching - it’s going to be the same guys trying to win it all at lower odds than when they already failed. McD is a pretty good coach and has a place in the league but I don’t think he’s a dynasty coach Josh Allen is absolutely in the elite tier and can be a dynasty player Dorsey looks like a guy that is the weakest link in the chain. He has an upper echelon team with the basics of his system already set up for him in advance. It looks like the play at several positions has gotten sloppier, guys are sometimes missing situational awareness, and the play calling can be a mixed bag in big moments. The unit lacks an identity beyond “Josh Allen is our quarterback!”
  20. And no credit to backs for being shifty enough to have an arm tackle instead of getting wrapped up fully
  21. im not saying that’s crazy but i think Wilson is head and shoulders about turf toe Terry at the moment. The others might favor Washington but I tend to lean towards the top end being more important than the supporting cast the way the leagues set up. If a bad teams going to beat us, I think it’s a special player making spectacular plays that’s more likely than WR3 beating us up.
  22. a couple weird bounces and a blown coverage or two and it’ll be a game quickly but bills should win this 7 or 8 times out of 10
  23. yea- should be a win but rarely a pushover in this league. offense, at least talent wise, is maybe more jets-esque than raiders. A young guy that can move around a bit and sling it. A couple good backs. Decent receivers. Jets probably more talented at both rb and wr though.
  24. though as a nickel the skill set changes too. He could be valued more outside than inside and that be part of the issue with reps
  25. Yea, even a good shove can result in a fall and cracking one’s head on the cement. Just terrifying consequences for everyone involved and their families Just quietly disengage and walk away if it gets dicey
