  1. id be curious about the advanced metric guys chiming in on if he played any better in certain sets, zone vs man etc... the last two years or just toast at all times
  2. Ralph was more generous on performance reviews, surprisingly enough wheat likely grew suspicious when each year they thanked him for nearly 20 years of great service though.
  3. being like the 25th best qb on the planet is simultaneously a fantastic, and awful career path. I mean, the money makes it unbelievably good. But Your job description is basically alternating between beloved backup and hated starter every 8 games.
  4. well, making the team and playing isn’t a great standard. making the team and playing well is a much better standard.
  5. that’s really the highlight of the whole thing I think You tried, and you almost got there... but not quite
  6. A dude that made his living off non traditional play and not having a great training regimen would be a flag for me when considering a coach.... that’s not to blow up his legacy or anything. Just you normally picture the cerebral gym rat that overachieved as going into this side. Certainly not always the case and In a role like this motivation and recruitment can mean as much as anything
  7. jokes aside, it could be true. Plenty of oddball genetic quirks that could effect hand eye coordination and can be the difference between great receivers and kind of clumsy ones. heck, look at what’s his name, the corner we had from USC that had surgery on his eyes.
  8. Why are you the way you are?
  9. it’s odd worlds that some of y’all are living in. Just strange places.
  10. league minimum with a year two bonus that’s guaranteed if on the roster X date this season would accomplish it for all intents and purposes
  11. at this crossroads the team should be giving him a top 3-5 situation to succeed in - and as a qv that means you are on the list as at very least a long shot
  12. kamara, mahomes, zeke, Watson, hopkins... the guys that in a 2 min drill with the game on the line you are expecting to make the biggest plays in the league with all eyes on them like I said, it’s even more arbitrary than most terms we debate here as being arbitrary so I’ll hang up after this but if you count beasley, anyone that’s on the field counts as making a play. Singletary is fine going either way but I’d like to see more production (primarily points) to give an enthusiastic yes.
  13. it’s totally arbitrary nomenclature so I’m not really going to hop in this argument tooooo passionately but I think most people think of playmakers on offense as a guy that can score any time he touches it or on defense a turnover creator or clutch sack artist. turning a 2 yard loss into a 4 yard gain is certainly making a play in its own right but I think we are still waiting to see how explosive he can be in the right system with the right support. Beasley though, he’s not that dude unless you count everyone that plays as a playmaker. honestly the player I’d be all about chasing. The human worries me on this one. I’m ok taking a few risks but he strikes me as one I’d always be expecting issues with.
  14. Wait... she has high standards, and... is with you? not to detour the thread but some things warrant discussion
  15. It would take burrow pushing the issue I think... but not sure how they would react to that
  16. the only thing that I’d push back on slightly... if pegs fired McD and hired a guy like rex suddenly, it would be pretty much impossible for the GM to look consistent and purpose driven could be anyone up for possible early extensions too there were definitely a few years with very good 52 man rosters
  17. it’d essentially be 2 years 22m and then no dead money (signing bonus stays behind with rams) sometimes guys like this rebound after a year of reduced work. I wouldn’t like it but in the right package it’s not insane to discuss. Probably a better fit for a team at a different point in the team building cycle though
  18. Ultimately- the better passer will win. Today it’s josh but both have a lot of work left to be a guy winning consistently with a mature nfl roster surrounding a franchise an contract. how many of those backs are also trying to throw pin point passes with a shaky foundation or busted shoulder?
  19. they don’t need it til signing players and I swear this is the only board I see guys worried about rookie cap hits. It’s sooooo easy to move money that being remotely close is simple to fix and that money is really minimal
  20. in theory this should be the best roster Allen ever plays with in his career unless they get horribly conservative. This is the year you must make the splash moves.
  21. add him and a few pieces and it won’t be that tough. I’d be glad for him to be our Sammy in a super bowl run
  22. You are worried that people are discussing this? Maybe look in the mirror on that worry
  23. to be fair, that he was right about duke might count for him not against
  24. On top of all that though it’s unlearning the flow, the instincts of when and where to cut etc... how to react to a linebacker engaging his blocker will be different based on backside pursuit, safeties coming down, etc.
