Athletic article forecasting our cap casualties

or restructure some guys -
his point was if 30M comes off the books, whose cap hits are suddenly backfilling that from our existing roster in next years calculation. IE generally he expected to see $30m to play with but guys are instead just costing more

Dorsey ran a lot of 12 personnel packages

I think speculation is the word you were looking for but I wouldn’t be shocked if they at least gave a heads up. I don’t think there was an ask of permission but I’d guess some sort of acknowledgment between tre and beane occurred (direct or indirect) -
Brian Flores suing NFL, NY Giants, Dolphins, Broncos.

I may have haphazardly stumbled into a conversation I was only halfway up to speed on… but was speaking in the general sense of had it been known, that would obviously be a messy moral spot. If daboll had no clue there would clearly be no way to remotely call him out in the process. The guy I was responding to had posted about “what was he supposed to do, divulge he knew to Flores” If he was an active participant I wouldn’t fault him but likewise know that good people wouldn’t be prideful about doing even if it is right for them and their family to make the huge jump at all cost -

it’s at best a messy moral situation right? I think we all know being part of a sham isn’t the right thing… but to receive a huge reward at the expense of someone else’s minor inconvenience due to a third parties rule? it’s hard to say I’d be mad at anyone about it but also not something I’d be particularly proud of if I did it myself either -

Seeing as we offered him a deal last year it seems like a real consideration. And tre may have blessed it. -
that was pretty low on the list of speculation I saw

Ultimately, even if the giants were into daboll, the argument for the league for years is that their goal was to get more guys in the process - both for experience and for the possibility of surprising the team and changing their plans. Unless they had signatures from daboll - it’s possible he could’ve still ended up in Miami even. that said, Flores being frustrated with feeling like a token interview is also fair. -
Sean Payton on the end of the Bills-Chiefs game

hell, can you imagine those play calls getting relayed to an mlb that truly owned the defense? with the timeouts we called this defense 4 times and no one thought to make the case that they were protecting open field and leaving all prime areas to target wide open? -
I don’t know if his hat is in the ring but he’s been successful as a modern nfl schemer. I suspect he’s more interested in HC opportunities. I would be happy with him here.

I haven’t personally seen his 23 and me but I don’t think so

Brian Daboll hired to be Head Coach of NY Giants
NoSaint replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
It cuts both ways- if an org fails a guy more than a year or two it gets hard for him to get the repetitions in practice to recover from a bad start. once you’ve picked up some bad habits it takes time and good reps to fix them and that’s one thing that young qbs don’t get a whole lot of once they are off track -

context: he has had bad and untrusted kickers all year. Ours had often executed the technique very well. he is correct though that the defensive calls are much less defensible than the kick (minus the possible major communication issue) -

Counter: I don’t think he was making a decision based on any of the three suddenly becoming the guy any more than you could argue McDermott hitched himself to tyrod. -

Jones is on the team and daboll is known to be very supportive of his guys. He will be very high on him until he’s not and a move is made… and even then he will likely be positive about the guy -
the guy wanted high producing, young, healthy guys…. They cost a lot.
-
I mean, it serves that goal so it’s a good mid way target
-
You don’t see the upside in letting our young and talented but relatively inexperienced qb take on peyton Manning level responsibility?
-
the storylines write themselves currently. who knows who the OC will be or what they want to do but there’s definitely a viable map to it happening
-
touche. I wouldn’t have guessed it to be that high. But yea, even if he lost a step he could fill an existing role better than it was, while also adding additional wrinkles on top. a new coordinator with a little bit of an updated identity utilizing the 2TE looks could make for a fresh approach to stay ahead of defenses
-
You make a jump in there. Could add gronk and give knox targets. if anything it’s probably taking away from beasley (or replacing) with short yardage chain movers, settling between zones and red zone…. But a heavy blocker. More two TE sets could be a wrinkle to jump start the run game too. in fact, I think he pretty well disliked everything but Tom and the rings. to come in and be a part of the mafia and have a chance to win seems like the best swan song he could ask for

Ken Dorsey - would he choose OC here or leave to be Daboll's OC?
NoSaint replied to Heavy Kevi's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the league doesn’t think it’s lateral, all beane could do is hold all the position coaches back until a new OC is selected and makes the call on who he wants. which could get spicy I’m sure daboll has a few guys he’d like to bring with him. -

being offered is not the same as being in the position though that said, I assumed his promotion last year was about putting him above the threshold in order to avoid surprises -
