  1. meh. We have to assume one will be active 53 come game day so if you have a strong enough relationship to wrangle this for a minute to give an extra roster spot while shuffling statuses at cut day - so be it.
  2. I think you might be remembering Kirby getting his new house. I’m the same general vicinity though. honestly, made it through very solid. Muscling through the august heat without power isn’t ideal but doing fine all things considered.
  3. So far so good! AC cranked low, lots of water, ice and snacks. Ready for the inevitable power outages but holding up well out of the gate. going to really crush some folks but my area is not looking like it’s getting the worst of it.
  4. I also didn’t comment on what his career arc would’ve been had he been drafted elsewhere.
  5. yea man. And we totally should’ve offered a 2 for Matt Moore when we had our carousel. That would have gotten us closer to a super bowl.
  6. Every one of those teams would be looking to upgrade at qb if he were starter. We did 20 years of cycling through those guys and suddenly folks think they are getting a second rounder in august/September for a low tier starter/good backup that won’t know the playbook?
  7. No one is offering a second.
  8. you don’t even know if they were actually hurt or preseason cases of avoiding a minor tweak turning into something
  9. meh. Rarely do the reclamation projects go anywhere. They have their new lottery ticket.
  10. the digression through these first couple posts is actually the thread in society that worries me most these days.
  11. yup- heck, didn’t Atlanta have a game that year where they were driving from behind with like two mins left, turn the ball over and then the defender fumbled back to them and they ended up scoring to win right behind it? Just stupid good luck all season but I don’t fully recall the details game by game. sometimes you are just blessed with a lucky win. Or several. Likewise cursed with unlucky losses. But those outcomes tend to regress towards an average. I really never picked that up with the chiefs last year though.
  12. id be more curious how they won those. Example - like 5 years ago Atlanta had similar with an insane turnover differential that didn’t tie back to anything meaningful (ie pressure) but mostly lucky bounces. They fell off a cliff predictably. Hell, our own fitz magic season was similar with outcomes not matching underlying indicators that first month. Without doing a deep dive and just a gut reaction on a couple games I watched, I didn’t get that feeling from the chiefs last year.
  13. and don’t always be up front. because HR is not your advocate by design. Don’t be an ass, but look out for yourself across these transitions and know hr is there to generally protect the company and not you.
  14. might just be he has a long way to go. When it’s bad, it’s bad.
  15. sketchy because his day 3 pick didn’t light up preseason?
  16. the bridges burned by participating in reasonable accommodations afforded to your family are usually not bridges you would want cross again anyway. Don’t be a jerk about things and don’t screw anyone just for the sake of doing them dirty… but also don’t shortchange your family because you are playing scared either. I mean obviously a survey expressing a shift in preferences doesn’t express uniform and lock step stances on a topic across tens of millions of people.
  17. I’m sure at least a few here interested in where the ceiling is on cardano and if today’s a sell the news situation
  18. Ultimately it sucks to get your butt kicked. It’s demoralizing to get your but kicked and know that in a few weeks you’ll start to get it kicked in miserable weather. winning cures everything
  19. Was frustrating that link was refusing to move but finally a little run.
  20. Most of the dead money of a trade today would hit next year though. And I don’t think that’s an exciting prospect for them. if they do it next off season after June 1 it becomes at least somewhat manageable to absorb without tanking
  21. strongly suspect it just isn’t happening this year. Even if Jax makes a ton of sense- moving an injured player with a ton of dead cap is a struggle for both sides. in 22 it becomes a little more feasible but hard to slot in a player name on the other side a full season out
  22. that, and also injuries along the way some may argue that guys to compete with him isn’t the right tier to target for a starting 2. last year I beat the “add a pass rusher” drum. This year I suspect that’s still relevant but with all the investment in the line that the get a cb2 drum is what I’ll be beating as the spot I hope we don’t regret come January
  23. He had the Curtis martin route and will likewise get in. It won’t be particularly interesting, as it will be well deserved. Indianapolis isn’t a sexy market. Manning and the passing game got all the headlines. no one thought of the colts as a team with a consequential running back when talking about the team over a beer. rivers is an interesting one if we are looking for an interesting debate here
