Well the failure actually goes back to prior whiteout games. When Penn St had previous whiteout games in hand, their fans should have taken their shirts off and discarded of any white pom poms. By not doing so, it increased the chance that they would lose the next whiteout game, because it drew from that pot of luck.

The Penn St game actually highlights your point. They had won so many Whiteout games in a row, their odds of winning last night were less.

I remember back in Little League, if you were sharp enough to figure out the other team’s signs, then why not? If a team notices some tells in preparation of the game film of their opponent, and it’s legal within the rules, there’s not really a problem. If a team is worried about sign stealing, throw in some dummy signals to throw the other team off.

I don’t think ever gotten as excited to watch someone block and see what’s going to happen.

Just to be clear, Hoecht and Ogunjobi are both suspended for the first six games. And Carter is out for the season. This aside, I definitely think there’s room for their defense to get better as the season progresses, if the injury bug can subside and the younger players show growth.
