I remember some of the mid-90 teams being pretty up-and-down. The HOFers were entering the twilight of their careers, and the OL had started to deteriorate too. This year is different, in that injuries have decimated the defense and the offense has been struggling with its identity. In my mind, that’s part of the reason to still have optimism about this team making a run. The AFC is looking especially weak, the defense has seemingly stabilized, and since Brady has taken over, the offense has generally looked better. The turnovers the other night were the biggest reason an inspired Chargers team were able to stay in the game. I’m optimistic this team will be extra sharp next Sunday and beyond.

Lol we’ll see if Russ can string together two TD drives in a row, not banking on it for him…

Glad they’re playing their Super Bowl tonight. I always knew it was somewhat probable all these games would go our way this weekend.

I was just thinking that BB’s probably loving it. Kind of game where he’s not outmanned and he can grind it out.

From a WR perspective, this team’s smartest move would be the draft. This team needs younger, faster skill players and at a reasonable price. The draft is the best path forward there, versus trying to throw a lot of money at someone already 4+ years in the league.

The Browns going to have nothing to do with our seeding. We win the division, we will either be the 2 or 3 seed, depending if the Chiefs lose anymore games.

If I have it right, there’s no way we can be the 1, 4 or 5 seed. If we make it in, would either be 2, 3, 6 or 7, depending on if we win the division or not, and outcome of other games.

There’s no complex situation where it wouldn’t be the case. Baltimore or Cleveland would be the 1 seed with 12 wins or more. Of the other division winners, we could only be tied with KC, and we win the H2H tiebreaker. Like you said, if we win out, Miami loses to Bal, and KC loses one of their three remaining games, we are the 2 seed.

If we are able to lock up a WC berth next weekend and Miami wins too, do we rest players in Week 18??? Seems like we would want to. We’d only be playing for seed 6 or 7.

With Texans and Colts both looking like their going to lose, that’s one less team we’d have to contend with for a WC at 10-7. Unless they tie, one of them will end up 9-8 or worse after they play (or both 9-7-1 if they tie). Would be nice if Steelers, Bengals and Broncos each find a way to lose another before Week 18, as a win next week on our end would then guarantee at least a WC spot heading into Week 18.
