  1. If I were Tampa I'd demand a number of first round draft picks and a key player or two. I'd tell Philly if they don't do it, we're taking Mariota in case they try to trade up with Tennessee or someone else. Draft picks are just too hit or miss to not include proven players.
  2. I think it's fine as is. I can understand to some extent saying that if a team gives up a FG they should have a shot on offense but giving up a TD then getting a chance? Sorry, that's on the defense for losing it. And, while I know this wouldn't apply for every OT situation, GB had a number of chances to put Seattle away in regulation yesterday and didn't. No one to blame but themselves for that one.
  3. Is he looking to become a HC? Seemed like he was content being our DC at least for now and was run out by a new HC and his own staff.
  4. Not looking forward to it but, as someone who doesn't mind the Seahawks as much as others, I'll be satisfied afterwards if they win.
  5. Who I think will win: Hawks and Pats Who I want to win: Hawks and Colts
  6. I know, but I still think the start of his ownership is yet to be determined. If this coaching move works out then yes, I would say it was a great start.
  7. "Hey, Best Buy, the TV in here sucks. Can you deliver a 64 inch LED by tomorrow with surround sound?"
  8. Agreed, a new beginning for the team. And who knows, maybe it will be like Belichick, a defensive mind who failed at his first HC job only to have a perennial winner in his next one.
  9. I think it is yet to be determined. A lot rides on the success/failure of Ryan as HC as this is his first big move as an owner. If it doesn't work out then as far as I'm concerned the beginning of his ownership will be remembered as having a great defense with a great D coordinator who had to go elsewhere because we decided to bring in a guy who was unproven as a HC and wanted to run the D. But I will say I like that the Pegulas really seem to at least have a passion and desire to want to build a winner out of the Bills.
  10. I think all of us Bills fans have earned the right to be skeptical until we start seeing wins and production. It's all talk unless we make the playoffs and start becoming a contending team as far as I'm concerned.
  11. While I can to some extent see why there are some who are glad we hired Rex I can't say I understand the excitement over Roman.
  12. "Who needs to buy a house? I'm the coach, I'll just live in here"
  13. I see it as quite the opposite, how do you think he's supposed to be an improvement? What has he done that gives you any confidence? I see the Niners as having a dominant defense who's offense time after time held them back.
  14. This is disappointing. Schwartz seemed to be settled in and I think he would have stuck around for a good bit of time as he already had his run at being a HC. We had a great thing in place with Schwartz and we just ruined it IMO. And all for a very suspect HC. Now if he doesn't work out we lose him and a really good DC.
  15. So, it was December 14th? As in after his game against us, therefore we can say our defense held him to a mediocre game when he was still at full strength?
  16. One thing's for sure, if Rex is coming to town, everyone keep you shoes on
  17. Just not a fan of expansion. I like having 2 bye teams and I just think it takes away from the regular season. When I look at this year, with 7 playoff teams, the Eagles would have made the playoffs in the NFC. I do think they had a season deserving of a playoff berth (especially considering the fact that they not only had a better record than the Panthers but the slaughtered the Panthers). In the AFC the Texans I believe would have made it. I just don't think they had a season worthy of a playoff berth. Again, I know Carolina didn't either but I just think 6 teams is usually the best number to include truly deserving and keep out the truly mediocre.
  18. Wow, we've been down longer than they have and we didn't even resort to live tweeting the comeback.
  19. So the discussion has come up many times around the NFL and on this board about expanding the playoff field to 7 or 8 teams per conference. While I am completely against expanding the playoff field, if Carolina surprises Seattle this weekend and even goes as far as reaching the Superbowl how do you think it will help or hurt any chance at expanding the playoff field. I'm thinking it could go either way. It could hurt chances as some might look at this and say if you add more playoff teams you're opening up the door for more teams who are mediocre and really didn't deserve a shot at winning it all thus taking a lot of importance out of the regular season. It could also help chances as the NFL might look at Carolina and think that if they were good enough more lower tier teams deserve a shot. I know Carolina is kind of a unique situation as they benefited from a soft division but there have been 8-8 wildcard teams as well.
  20. Agreed, miracles are wonderful, inspiring events. This does not qualify as such.
  21. I am glad but then I remember Buddy Nix talking about the Gailey hire years ago and how there were so many people "wanting this job". Obviously that didn't work out for the best as who knows how accurate that statement really was and who all these people were. But all in all I'm glad we are taking our time trying to find the best candidate. It makes me wonder if there's maybe a coordinator who's team is still in the playoffs who we are waiting to talk to.
  22. No Shanahans, please. Not even Mike. Take away his seasons where he's had John Elway behind center and his teams have done nothing.
  23. What really gets me is that they even called it PI then took it back. It's not like they threw the flag, discussed, then picked it up. They actually made the PI call then took it back. Can't recall ever seeing that before.
  24. Not sure I understand why Mike Pereira is saying that should have been running into the kicker on Detroit. Looked to me like he was clearly pushed into the kicker. I say good no call.
  25. Sad news and another grim reminder that life can be cut short in an instance. RIP Stu #StuartStrong
