It would be kind of depressing if the there is only one more game at the Ralph the rest of the season. Guess they'll have to win the division now so they can get a home playoff game

Schefter: Bears Could Trade Cutler. Would Ya?
Talley56 replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cutler is an upgrade over any other QB on our roster. As long as it doesn't cost us a high future draft choice, why not? -
I feel like in all my years of watching pro and college football any time there's a "mix-up" between a QB and receiver and the refs can see that they just simply weren't on the same page or the receiver ran the wrong route they do not throw the flag. I don't know where this whole idea suddenly came from out of nowhere just this week that it doesn't matter. Same goes for offensive PI. Ravens get a win taken away against Cincinnati and NO gets a win taken away against SF for offense PI calls that I feel like usually don't get called. We've had a few key questionable offensive PIs called on us this season in notable losses (vs NE and KC).

Peyton Manning played his first playoff game (which would have been against us if only) Lord of The Rings Trilogy hit the theaters Tom Brady went from nobody to hall of famer -
Are you ready to admit Orton's the problem yet?
Talley56 replied to Oberyn's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seems like we are going to two extremes here. It was a little much to crown him our savior and our future or basically as anything more than a band aid to replace a struggling young QB in a season where the playoffs were a legitimate possibility but he was not the only problem. He did not fumble the ball in the loss to KC in crucial situations. He did not give up a 3rd and 24 to a mediocre Miami offense. There were a lot of plays yesterday where pressure got to him basically right after he snapped the ball. That said yes he did miss-fire on a lot of throws and just looked really uncomfortable. -
I might agree that we aren't that good if Kansas City had outplayed us. But this was a game that we had won and we choked away. If we don't choke it away, we're 6-3 with the best record in the AFC amongst non-division leaders (basically the top wild card team). That tells me we are good enough to be 6-3 but we blew our shot at that record.

I kind of felt like the biggest momentum changer was the TD run on 4th and 1. Up until that point their offense couldn't do anything against our defense and even though they were still losing it just seemed to change the way the game was going IMO.

No one knows how well anyone will end up. Heck 10-6 could be good enough to win the division. Just a matter of hours ago the Steelers were being slurped as one of the best teams in the league and then they lose today to one of the worst.
-
I think to say it kills our playoff chances is a little much but I agree it hurts. I would say though winning would have done more to ensure our playoff chances than losing hurts it. If we win this game, we would have been tied for the 3rd best record in the AFC (and we would have had the best record of all non-division leaders in the AFC)

When did you know the Bills might lose today?
Talley56 replied to covac23's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the question is when the Bills might lose I thought it was possible before the game even started. I like what the Bills have done this year for the most part but KC is a good team. -
When do the phantom calls against us stop??
Talley56 replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
While I don't like to blame officials, and I will not blame them for the loss, I don't know how anyone can say the PI on Chandler was a good call. He barely touched the defender as he made his cut. If that's offensive PI the vast majority of passing plays in football are offensive PI. I thought the roughing call on Williams was ridiculous but I've seen worse when it comes to roughing the passer. And Henderson definitely flinched ever so slightly on that false start. -
Guess I've been spending the last few weeks on another planet and didn't realize it because I really haven't been hearing much media attention on them. The only exception being a little more buzz after they routed the Chargers but that's to be expected I would think.

What really has me worried is his own college coach said he didn't think EJ had the tools to be an NFL starter. I know some will say "what does a college coach know about NFL quarterbacks". But you would think Jimbo would know enough to try to sell him a little more if he really did believe in him. His accuracy on many of his throws this year was really bad and not just rookie bad or my favorite "everyone throws bad passes" bad. It was inexcusably bad on a number of his throws. That is alarming. I hope he can come off the bench at some point and correct it but we really need to start looking in a new direction for a franchise QB. As far as putting in extra time, as I recall, didn't Trent have a really great work ethic too?

So were Charlie Ward, Chris Weinke, and Christian Ponder.

Kansas City; What's going to happen?
Talley56 replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They have the common opponents on us (NE and San Diego) but I still think we can win this one. Hoping Kyle Orton and have a game like this one form a few years ago againts KC: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201011140den.htm -
I see; my mistake
-
Wait, you mean, there was a game that started at 9:30 this morning? So what did it like just end?

He obviously wasn't if he got caught from behind.

While I'm no fan of Hacket I actually didn't think the playcalling in today's game was as bad as some previous weeks. Given the fact that we were forcing turnovers we really didn't need to force the ball or anything. And even when we were ahead by 20 points we were still throwing the ball (TD pass to Watkins). Hacket wasn't the one who pointed to the crowd on his way to the endzone and got tackled short of scoring. Yet he called a nice run play to get us in the endzone on the very next play.

Week 8 Predictions: Bills @ Jets
Talley56 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have a bad feeling about this game. The Jets have always played us well during the Rex Ryan era and I think they are better than people give them credit for (almost won @NE and practically should have won @GB). Not to mention the fact that they are at home and coming off 10 days rest. But, in order to keep my true Bills fan status: Bills 20 Jets 17. -
active players who are candidates for "best ever"
Talley56 replied to truth on hold's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Manning - yes, the only other one I may possibly give consideration to is Polamolu. The rest, no. -
As I mentioned in another thread, how impressive could the Patriots have been with their lack-luster win over Oakland? At the end of the day, good teams forget the mistakes they made, forget how good/bad the team they are playing is, and they just win.
-
Yeah, it wasn't pretty. It also wasn't pretty for NE to have to beat the Jets on a missed 2pt conversion and a blocked field goal nor was it pretty for them to barely beat Oakland. At the end of the day, a win is a win and if we end up making the playoffs by a game will anyone really look back and say "yeah, but we really shouldn't be in the playoffs because we won that ugly game back in October against the Vikings"?
