I can't really imagine the factors coming together where Gilmore would join the Bills............but he certainly would give them a piece in the secondary that would allow them to play the best passing offenses much differently. You might actually be able to take away both Kelce and Hill in a playoff matchup and still have some bodies left to address the rest if you had both White and Gilmore in combination with those safeties. I wasn't very enthused about the *decent* UFA Steven Nelson when he was available because he really doesn't move the needle in matchups against star receiving threats........but a player the caliber of Gilmore is a different story.

Tremaine Edmunds named AFC Defensive Player of the Week
BADOLBILZ replied to nato7412's topic in The Stadium Wall
Correct. He wasn't playing impactful football early in the season and then he played a tremendous game Sunday. It shouldn't have taken PFF grades for anyone to determine that. Eyeballs would suffice. Hopefully this game was a turning point for him. He's had some(few) games in the past where he flashed like this and then didn't maintain though. -

Game changing plays.........high PFF grade...........who knew those were reflective of the kind of excellent play that earns one accolades? Nice to not have to witness people reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeach for examples of plays where he was a difference maker. -
FO: Bills over Texans was Top Defensive DVOA Ever Measured
BADOLBILZ replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah Lotulelei's 2 game pace of play making would project to obliterate the best season of his long career............he's not the same player. Different body composition and different style of playing 1 tech. Attacking the pocket and being disruptive in the backfield is the only way 1 tech should be played, IMO. If you want a space eating DT to hover at the LOS then align him at 0 as a NT where at least he can put the center on skates while drawing the double. That's not pass defense centric 4 DL football, but if you aren't going to shoot gaps then that is the way. Allowing the center and guard to comfortably bracket off your DT gains you so little in run defense that it's not worth it. Despite good defensive numbers overall in 2018-2019, the Bills were never any better than average in ypc allowed in the two years that Lotulelei was playing traffic cone. -
Because there is a belief, based on the thrashing in the AFCCG, that the Bills can't defend the Chiefs with zone and that they need to be able to play man vs KC. Tre White can't run well enough to provide any challenge to Tyreek Hill in man.........we saw that mismatch in the AFCCG........White looked like he was running in sand against him. You could argue, however that he might be able to really neutralize Kelce with his combination of coverage, physicality and ball skills. For proof......he has done a good job when isolated on Gronk in the past. We've even seen Antoine Winfield deployed and shut down Tony Gonzalez years ago. This matchup is do-able. That would have left the man coverage "specialist" Nelson on Tyreek Hill. Which, as I said, would still be a massive mismatch anyway.

FO: Bills over Texans was Top Defensive DVOA Ever Measured

The quality of starting QB play they've faced has been horrendous............but confidence is such an important part of the game and they gotta' be flying high in those defensive meetings this week. I don't think the Chiefs offense punted against Philly..........they are rounding into form and the Bills D is playing great. -
For the people who wanted the Bills to sign Steven Nelson to give them a veteran man-coverage CB...........as I said at the time, if you gotta' cover Tyreek Hill man-to-man, Steven Nelson can't do that. And watching that Chiefs at Eagles game.........Nelson got absolutely TORCHED all day by Hill.

One Bills Live with Chris Brown and... Maddy Glab?
BADOLBILZ replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Her own father tells her that she parrots the host. And if you don't think she is hard to listen to you are probably not in WNY but rather listening in stereo online..........because her faint, monotone voice is a challenge to hear on the am radio where the majority of listeners are getting the content. -
TSW's official Urban Liar apologist @YoloinOhio is now cheap shotting Honest Urb. I'd say the last of the suckers has been licked to the stick.

Eh......SoCal is a little different. Charlie Weis on the scrutiny in the midwest versus the coverage of then 60 year old Pete Carroll at USC: "Let me ask you this: You guys know about things that go on in different places. Was I living with a grad student in Malibu, or was I living with my wife in my house? You could bet that if I were living with a grad student here in South Bend, it would be national news," he said. "[Carroll] doing it in Malibu and it's not national news. What's the difference? I don't understand. Why is it okay for one guy to do things like that, but for me, I'm scrutinized when I swear. I'm sorry for swearing; absolve my sins."

What was up with Beasley today?
BADOLBILZ replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When you watch the Bills on your tv you are supporting the NFL as a whole........every team gets an equal cut of the few pennies your eyeballs bring in. I know it's an unpopular fact on a board that is heavily constructed of ex-pats............but make no mistake that attendance is mandatory to keep a team. See the Bills 2019 profit at $80M versus their 2020 figure of -$18M............at this stage in their business model, attendance is the difference between a profit and a loss for the Buffalo Bills. But I am all for charging all of you peeping Tom's a personal seat license for your couch to help fund the new stadium so that the Bills remain in existence. 😉 And yes, you are correct everyone is born with an opinion function. -
One Bills Live with Chris Brown and... Maddy Glab?
BADOLBILZ replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, boring won't cut it at a big city media outlet. She sucks the "interesting" out of virtually any Bills conversation. The perfect combo of monotonous droning(which is very straining to listen to on an am signal......where most of the listeners are getting the feed) and incredibly long winded, boring re-hashed takes. -

Oh.........so you also don't attend your kid's little league games? The Bills are a professional football team................pro as in PAID..........if you aren't at the games and a paying customer tangibly supporting the team then you just aren't qualified to speak on how those who do so choose to express their feelings about the team. You are the unregistered voter complaining about the election result. Doesn't make you less of a fan but as Mike Leach would say.........those fans are "committed".........you are just "involved". -
One Bills Live with Chris Brown and... Maddy Glab?
BADOLBILZ replied to Giuseppe Tognarelli's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can't believe it but I totally agree with this take. I caught a portion of the show a week or so ago and Maddy said that her father was complaining to her about her always agreeing with everything that Chris said on the show and not having her own opinion..........which was followed by an awkward silence from Brown who is obviously aware that Glab just gives a longwinded agreement to everything her or Tasker say. She is a total energy vampire. -
Broken bones are more random than the repeated soft tissue injuries, IMO............but I'd argue that learning how to prevent the kind of impacts that cause things like broken bones is not necessarily random. I think Eric Wood is a great example of a guy who had to learn his limitations in the pros. He suffered a broken leg trying to sumo-wrassle a much larger player and got his leg snapped. Then he tore a ligament in his knee trying to chase down a DL to give him an unnecessary shot away from the play. Wood was a different, smarter player from those mistakes and proceeded to break his rep as injury prone. Learning how to protect yourself is an ability, IMO.

He knew he was lying when he called out the entire Bills fanbase for harassing him for his choice/beliefs/performance. He cried wolf...........after that, any subsequent vague complaint can be presumed false or exaggerated. -
What was up with Beasley today?
BADOLBILZ replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nobody who didn't make their way to that stadium and sit in the pouring rain for 3 hours to literally support their team in person and financially has any right whatsoever to question the loyalty of any Bills fan in attendance. Common sense but we have a lot of tough talkers with big hats and no cattle on TSW. -
Milano finished both his first and second seasons injured and unavailable. As for the soft tissue injuries being random............I don't know about that. I think some players(like Poz) just get better at managing their body to avoid injuries............hopefully that's the case with Milano going forward.

He's played 5 seasons and has over 400 less snaps......basically 6-7 games worth..........than Tremaine Edmunds has in just 4 seasons. Downplaying it is stupid..........it's an issue..........he ended BOTH the 2017 and 2018 seasons injured..........and last season was a struggle to get him healthy enough to play full games.

What was up with Beasley today?
BADOLBILZ replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That joke formula is supposed to be for things totally unexpected before the season started. Blowing out the Texans was expected. Beasley getting boos was expected. I for one am not going to boo the guy. But people want him to get his shot so he doesn't end up costing the Bills games with protocol issues(at the very least). Beas is a hard head but if you don't think external pressure works on even the numbest of skulls then ask Andrew Wiggins. -
The Edmunds Report - Week 4, Texans v. Bills, 10/03/21
BADOLBILZ replied to Freddie's Dead's topic in The Stadium Wall
Haven't re-watched it yet but even though the D played very few snaps overall......it seemed like he had the best game of his career. I overheard people talking in the stands early in the game about Edmunds being ticked off about being referenced as a bust in the media...........not sure if he made any statement or what...........and then he promptly went out and made plays that he hasn't made in 2-3 years. As I've said........MLB is a devalued position and one of the reasons is that it's hard for an inside backer to really have much impact in games against top QB's..........in big games against good QB's the defensive performance usually comes down to how you perform at edge and island positions. The days where MLB's gotta' make their hay are against the rookies, scrubs and washed up QB's. Edmunds hadn't been doing that thru 3 games against bad QB's so far.........but today he did. Hopefully he keeps it up. The Bills only have a handful of games against top veteran QB's left so the schedule is ripe with opportunity. -
I haven't re-watched the game but my impression was that Brown played very well. And the fans love the guy.........he plays to the crowd. Ford is in a really inexplicable spiral. He was overdrafted for need and not a great prospect.......but there is no reason he should be playing as bad as he has.

The new and improved Star is playing very well. The days of slow dancing.....even with single blocks.....at the LOS appear to be in the past. It was quite obvious last year that the Bills wanted to get away from that "nose tackle" type 2 gapper at DT1T..........they never made any attempt to get another after Star opted out and he's back and in penetrating shape and playing aggressive and earning his pay (cut) finally. On pace to blow away his career highs for sacks and pressures and tackles. "In theory" tying up blockers keeps your LB clean, but in reality it's a passing league and your DL is more useful if they are making plays.

What was up with Beasley today?
BADOLBILZ replied to JerseyBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I sit right below the press box on the home side and he is definitely being boos. But the majority of the people making noise, like myself, are saying "Beeeez". The low frequency of the boos drowns out the "eeee" and makes it sound like A LOT more boo's than there are. And the idea that the people booing him are asking for autographs is absurd..........they despise the guy. Beasley is just very immature.........always perceiving the maximum degree of slight.........he was that way in Dallas too. They treated him well and the fans loved him but he left there pouting. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if things escalated to where they had to release him in-season because he's THAT disruptive with his lack of emotional intelligence. Unfortunately, even though he's still very good I don't think anyone would trade anything for him given his vax status.
